Morning all!

Having a bit of a catch-up on laundry and some household chores before resuming holiday mode proper. Though, looking at the weather forecast, tomorrow is also looking like a good day to stay at home and make the active bit of the day the moving furniture to clean behind and underneath activity I've been putting off until I had the right frame of mind for it.

First proper meal out in a restaurant with a friend since last March was achieved yesterday. Wild bolus guess for a lovely dhal, potato paratha, and the yogurt to cool it all down. All happily corrected by bedtime!

The dry weather I was hoping for morphed into unforecast rain two days running, though later on Wednesday than yesterday. Off outside now as it's not raining but it is wet....

Heavy weather heading my way this morning which means I'll probably have to do some of the indoor jobs I've been putting off - like housework and paperwork! Think it's going to be a pretty boring Saturday, hope yours is whatever you'd like it to be.

Of course the landscapers are coming tomorrow to top all the hedges and take out a couple of palms and it's supposed to pour all day. While everyone is used to the rain that happens off and on here all the time they can't climb ladders and use the chain saw/hedge trimmer when it's constantly raining. Too slippery.

And I've been informed we have a shortage of dirt on the island lol. We have plenty of dirt on the island, but I need "clean" fungal resistant fertilizer dirt to top off the converted pond to garden area, it's sunk a few inches. And maybe the weatherman will be wrong about tomorrow, it wouldn't be the first time!

its me who throws the boxes out immediately marie and the amount of times ive had to rummage through the recycle bin is unbelievable.

@marie hope you manage to get the work done, I know only too well how frustrating it is trying to do outdoor work when the weather gets in the way

Given I live alone, I really do only have myself to blame for the numerous times I have to rescue carb-count information from the bins!

It seems a day's worth of being sociable takes 3 days to recover from in the current climate. In many ways lockdowns/limits on socialising suited me very well!! (Though not my blood sugars!) Got out today, though, for a solitary long walk which was somewhat curtailed by the need to return home and throw my backpack and all the clothes I was wearing in the washing machine and me in a bath. Sometimes, no amount of carefully checking grass before I sit down for a rest (in the absence of a bench) avoids the remains of generous offerings of the dogs who've been free-range in the park.

Sigh.........rain downpours for 5-10 minutes at a time this morning right around the time they were supposed to come so they canceled. We do/did have a storm headed our way by tonight and it was supposed to get worse as the day progressed. Reschedule.

It turns out the storm dissipated overnight and now we have sun and beautiful weather...................isn't that how it always works?????

Good morning. Swim done, awaiting the supermarket delivery and then out for second bramble picking trip. 5lb already frozen and would ideally like at least another 5lb. Use them 100g at a time with Lidl’s Greek yoghurt for breakfast. Mmm! Yum! Have a good bank holiday weekend everyone.

@becca59 Yum!!! Nothing better than fresh picked berries!!!! They won’t grow here, but we used to go up to the mountains every season to pick them where we used to live.
