Morning y'all, 6,8 waking tho it seems I spiked to 12 and back whilst asleep, yesterday worked out ok, decent bloods, gym session and I can see an end in sight with clearing my mums house out, I've an 8 yard skip coming in the morning and feel a bit silly that I'm 'excited' about this :)
My youngest's at a sleepover around the corner and coming to mine this morning, hope she aint pleading being tired as we're going swimming :) I've my car to empty first as it's full of bedroom furniture from mums that my dad (a cabinet maker) made, and the rabbit to clean, and another tip run this aft with my dodgy cheap car :) but as I say there's light at the end of the tunnel, I just need to mature my outlook as I've some decisions to make in the near future about where I'm going to live....

Is the boy growing up now he's 51? :p :)

Yeah 1/5. They spend sooooo much money on them. I have taken over 600 photos. Lots of editing when I get home. Probably not get a 100 decent ones lol

Thats the great thing about digital cameras, you can as many as you like then decide which ones have actually turned out as you wanted. When I am out and about trying to photographs birds ( the feathered type). I normally take about half a dozen of virtually the same shot with some minor adjustments then when home if I am lucky 1 will be as I wanted it

Morning everyone,

Went to sleep just after 10 pm, woke at about 12.30 with the libre reading 2.9. Blood test showed 3.2 so not so bad. Looking at the graph, I should probably have eaten something before I went to sleep. as it had dropped a little then. I'll try that tonight.

Yet another poor night for me, seems to always be the same at weekends. Normally I am lowish carbs during the week, typically around 100 per day. At weekend this can sometimes double, I treat myself to bacon rolls for breakfast and maybe a Chinese/ Indian for Saturday night dinner. I do bolus accordingly and split the dose but does not make any difference overnight. Woke up at 1am with a BG of 12.2, took correction dose. Woke up again at 4.15 still high at 11.4. Took another correction dose and woke up at 9am to 10.8.

Well just had another shedload of Novorapid and will see how that goes. if its anything like past few weekends it will be 7 ish around 1pm

As its bank holiday weekend, of course its raining so a quiet one for me today.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you do

Morning all! I took this pic of a Gyr x Lanner falcon at Cardiff castle, was quite pleased with it :)

Finally finished the s*dding chest of drawers, actually really pleased with it. First pic shows the before, during and after on the drawer fronts. It really was Orange. With a capital O.

Smooth night in the fours, managed to catch another unicorn with 100% in range for 24 hours. This Omnipod had revolutionised my insulin delivery - it’s amazing. With the Libre+MiaoMiao and the pod, I’m beginning to feel like I’ve got a set of screwdrivers to mend my “diabetes watch”, rather than a 16lb sledgehammer.

There was one of these maybe similar, a Gyrfalcon, these are very rare birds in the UK had flown off course several years ago and happened to land on the tiny Island of Berneray in Outer Hebrides, where I was staying on the islands hostel. I had had the place to myself for a few days all of a sudden about 20 birdwatchers descended on the place and my peace and quiet was shattered.

What’s an 8 yard skip when at home? And very interesting teaser about choosing where to live!!!

An 8 yard skip is a biggun :) or 8 cubic yards capacity, teaser? No, mum left me her house, I'm council :p but can stay here and buy or move to mums, and tbh I'm in two minds as what to do, I guess it's what she said she was doing but you know I've never really thought about it, now I'm having to although I'd rather not, it's all taken some getting my head round it, and now I have I'm indecisive, I just wish I could ask her what I should do now :)

20 years ago next year the local court made a residence order for my 2 kids in my favour so I've been here a while, a fair percentage of my round is on this estate, but I'm starting to think about a job change, I got into window cleaning as I was on my own with 2 kids and with that and diabetes I'm only flexible if it suits me, and windows has suited, but I'm probably 17 years into it, it's a grind some days running up and down ladders and doesn't help my shoulder, it's been a handy job as since the last ex left I've been the one to take the little un to school as her attendance was poor when her mum was doing it, but she starts secondary next week so frees my morning, and with mum dying I've no longer got her to look after and the last 8 months have been quite involved feeding washing dressing and stuff, winters coming and I don't know if I want another outdoor one, thermals, pink hands, short weeks due to bad weather and the feeling of wiping ice off window sills and water freezing on conservatory windows
So here I am :) almost devoid of hands on responsibilities (I have my youngest 5 nights out of 14) and I've never been one for making plans, and I guess it's time I should.

Lordy :) I didn't mean that to turn into an essay :p

Respect, I have no idea how you can go up and down ladders all day. Anymore than about 8 steps up and I just about freeze.

looks like you have a few big decisions to take, just take your time and do what you think is right for your kid and yourself

Afternoon all :)

Not the best night- woke up twice in the night to take correction doses. Waking in the morning on 7.7

Miscalculated the carbs in my breakfast and now ‘hypo’.

Had a whole day yesterday of over-treating hypos, followed by correction doses- so trying to be more patient today and waiting for the glucose tabs to kick in....

Hat tip to Dr Fraser Gibb who has been tweeting some libre results.

He's at the Infirmary in Edinburgh, which was one of the first to give libre on script back in March, so they've got a few months data to play with.

Not every new user has been back for their 6 month checkup and an updated a1c, so it's an incomplete picture, but the numbers seem pretty impressive: 12% getting <48 a1c pre-libre, doubles to 23.5% after.

Early days yet but this looks to be a fairly impressive set of figures. If only the bleeding bean counters could see the bigger picture and see how much the Libre can improve control thus saving a small fortune on future complications
