Type 1'stars R Us

I was thinking I wanted a pump and/or a cgm, now I'm not so sure with all the talk of sticking plasters, calibration, xdrip, blutooth, Miao Miao and the like
Madam's down again 4.3 but I've got kilocreep. Forgot to say, I tried making the roasted soya sauce soaked sunflower seeds and they worked a treat. Can't remember who suggested them but thanks. Hope they're not responsible for the belly wobble
Think I'm going to change my photo and go anonymous

Just wish it were consistent.

Hi @SueJB, did you note how much salt (sodium) was in the soya sauce? The recommended maximum according to the site 'Salt Matters) is 120mg/ml.

Morning everyone,

Blood sugar quite well behaved overnight, had a little rise about 5 am, which I corrected with 1 unit, and it's reasonably happy now

It's been a bit erratic for the last few weeks, but seems to be happier now. Not sure why.................or am I lying to myself, and I do know why?

Ours is not to reason why, Ours is just to be happy and spry!!!

In Australia we can buy smaller sharps containers from the local chemist and return full ones there for disposal. During our hot summers the smell of a large sharps bin can be a problem over time so the smaller, more quickly filled ones do have a purpose.

Good(ish) morning all
7 on waking (NO alarms! during night. Usual breakfast and bolus....just been alarmed....high 10.8 and rising, jsut checked my Timesulin and confirmed that I DID do my jab with breakfast, so T1D 1 Paul 0 today so far

10.8 isn't great, but it's not a decisive victory for Type 1, you can rerun that later, and win.

So reduce basal by 2u last night and woke with an 8.0 this morning so not too bad, will reassess wednesday morning.

busyish weekend, apparently it was the weekend for putting up the Christmas tree, so we followed the herd:

which is extremely rare to do this early, we normally wait until after the wifes birthday!

@slip can you pop round and do mine next ?

Have put lights up around the front garden and stopped after that, I live in a close and am the first to add lights so it's hopefully brightened up a very dull corner of the UK !!

Tree looks great.

'Ugh Monday morning' is my comment for the day, and it hasn't started well
Woke up, BS was at about low 3's - oh great, anyway had a few sweets followed by breakfast, I should've really waited longer for the sweets to kick in but I never have much time in the morning, and what this actually ended up meaning was that I couldn't leave the house til about 15-20 mins later than normal waiting for my BS to rise so I could drive and what this meant was I got to work 30 mins later than normal (the joys of traffic), luckily the only people who noticed don't really care anyways
And also now the freestyle sensor I put on yesterday seems to have made my arm very tender where it is - so I flinch if I touch the area, normally I can bump it and I don't really notice - will see how it is by the day, and if still tender I'll give Abbott a call and may change it - though this will then mean I need to change it again on Christmas Eve - d'oh!
Also I seem to be sniffling as well.
So yeah, I don't like Mondays!

Hi @porl69 , i had a similar experience this morning and then a seriously ridiculous spike. Woke to an 8.2 pre bolus as normal, only 40 g of porridge so i took 16 un of Novorapid, which included the correction dose.

I hour later it had risen to 12.4 with straight up arrow. 2 hours later it had gone to 16.7. I was seriously starting to doubt i had taken my Novorapid this morning, however 45 minutes later it had dropped to 11.9 before finally settling at lunchtime at 10.3.

So more correction doses given. This type 1 certainly likes to keep us on our toes

Not as far as I am aware Helen. Good news with the Fiasp, glad its doing its thing for you

Hi
No idea about salt, it was Kikkoman's but not reduced. I used 1tbsp but think they would work with less.
Is sodium bad?
