HideousSmallDoesel has a tinny and terrible OE sound system. It’s a single CD and radio. Am insisting husbeast puts the stereo from the Focus in it, so I can use my phone with the aux in. That at least would make it bearable.

It's ok by the end of the day when there’s a lake of Fiasp in the hinterland...
Good morning oh holey ones
Bloods behaving themselves again....went out with the misses last night and ate loads, guesstimate the carbs and got them pretty much spot on......didn't count the beer, which cost me a 10.8 in the evening. Well thats what I am blaming
@Mel dCP good sounds often distract from a car you don't like....I had many of those lol
@smc4761 a spike on a spike....hopefully will start to drop for you very soon. Hope you get to the bottom of why it happened
There’s a part of me that doesn’t want to accept the poxy thing as mine in the slightest, so don’t even want to keep any of my stuff in there. Then there’s another part that wants to change it as much as possible with purple things. I really need to give my head a wobble and get over it. I never realised how important my car was to me before. But having given it a lot of thought, it’s a sanctuary, a cocoon, a place I can put my head in the right zone for whatever I’m travelling to. It’s the one space I rarely share with anyone. I suspect part of the reason I loathe older small cars so much is that they just feel so insubstantial. I don’t feel secure, either while driving or while parked. I do appreciate you all listening to me on this, so thank you.
Bg ok and steady today, one more lesson before home time. They’ve asked me to come in every Friday until July, which is niceSome secure hours will make quite a difference. Anything else is a bonus! Can put it towards a new car hahaha
This made me smile, it's conjuring up images of David Attenborough pointing into the distance, whispering to camera, "....and, as evening approaches, wildebeest and gazelles roam gently by the lake of Fiasp in the hinterland..."
Husbeast has a petrol Micra. He loves it. I’m... less keen. Sort of “I don’t mind being driven in it, but I wouldn’t want one myself”. Oops. He’s taken the stereo out of the Focus, so at least I can use Spotify in the horror.Mel, we have several cars between us at home, from very smart indeed to a runaround, nicknamed the skateboard, bought for tip trips and the like.
I've come to adore that little car, and hardly ever drive anything else most of the time. It turns on a sixpence, goes like stink and hardly costs anything to fill up. Parking is an utter breeze.
You never know. I might grow on you.

In other news, I’ve got a definite Friday teaching actual science every week until the end of the school year! They’ve been impressed with how I’ve been handling the more challenging pupils that they want to keep me at least one day a week. And it’s only 20 miles from home, so that's two hours less a day to be sitting in SmallHideousDiesel.
BG running steady at 4.7-5 once I’d sat on the foot on the floor spike this morning, so I’ll take that![]()
