This is an international forum so there's usually someone on here to listen even if you just want to have a vent about the difficulties of diabetes or anything else in your life. . I really hope things go well for you at your meeting on Thursday. I've heard good things about the medtronic and the simplera.
Am very impressed by the quitting of nicotine, weed and alcohol all at the same time. Hopefully some of your current woes will ease as you get over the withdrawal symptoms.
since i stopped smoking/drinking i've made a really nice friend i can flirt and have a good laugh with she lives with disabilities so we help each other feel really good she has been making me feel happy for a change and is my main source of strength and resolve to give up my bad habits

sorry for the late reply i'm great thanks how are you ?
You're doing great after your struggles in december is wonderful to hear!
How is your hand, and is there any news on the pump yet?

And thanks for asking, I'm doing pretty well although I could use the spring, and sun, and longer days.

After a horrible month I think things are starting to look up, went to Poland end of February and ended up in hospital with DKA which they suspect was due to food poisoning. Came home and had a suspected diabetic ulcer, GP has been doing dressing changes twice a week since I got back and it’s almost healed a small section left about 5mm x 3mm. I think I’m lucky that because my control is really good with hybrid closed loop I’m healing nicely. Hospital abroad was definitely scary and it’s put me off eating from places where I haven’t ate before! But I’m doing a lot better now at least :)

Hi,

Sorry to read about your experience in Poland.
I’ve traveled to north Poland to meet up with a Russian Japanese import owners club. Love the country!
The Russians were cool, too..

I’ve had two bouts of food poisoning whilst traveling. (South Asia.) On one occasion my wife had the same symptoms, only violently worse than myself..
& oddly had an infection on my hand. Which I manage to treat preliminarily to aid healing.

Actually, we weren’t married at that point, but I guess she knew I was a keeper as I held a bin for her to projectile vomit into?

Wow, so sorry to hear that @Nicola M . I know when we went to Mexico there is always the warning to be careful. We took a local bus tour out and our tour guide told us to not eat street vendors food and to only drink liquids from pre bottled fluids if you really want to be careful. Unfortunately it can happen anywhere.

I am happy to hear you are doing better and I hope your ulcer heals up nicely, hopefully without the added high BG's you will heal up faster!

Hugs and I'm glad you are doing better.
