@amgrundy - Well Done with your fasting of 5.2 :)
Hi liam 1955 Thank you for that, saying I went to a funeral and ate some buffet no pastry though. Was up in night around 3am and ate some greek coconut and vanilla yogurt with raspberries and Linseed and gogi berry mix from Aldi. I am happy with this reading as I thought it would have been higher. :)

Well done @liam1955, that's a fantastic reading! The lowest I've gone so far is 5.8 and that was when I had the dreaded lurgy :) Big pat on the back for you

Sounds exactly like the course I went on, same replys, or we will discuss that later in the course, but we never did, they have a time plan also, questions were often pasted over, like you said testing wasn't needed they said. Good luck on your next meeting,
Were not going to anymore meetings.

I've had some pretty high reading Of late, 11 and high 12s, despite eating low carbs and exercising, I booked in to see my regular GP last Friday and discussed it with them, looked odds on I had a cold or infection brewing that just hadn't surfaced yet.

The agreed plan was to take sulphonylureas to forced the BGL down and keep them down, it did work but then rebounded, readings of 11s to came down ,within just over an hour to 5s, only to raise back to double figures twos later.

The yoyo effect ment I ended up in a right pickle Tuesday night, after going to gym around midnight and I did my weights circuit and left at just after 1am, halfway through my walk back home, a small dull ache, that I'd hadall day in my left side kidney area turned to immense pain, I spent the next 30mins stopping and resting, then with half a mile left for no reason started vomiting every couple of minutes.

Up until then the only sign were high meter readings, that didn't match the food I'd been eating, low carb.

luckily I live just a minute from my GP, practice, who managed to fit me in to see my regular GP and I started a course of trimethoprim for a kidney infection, whilst they await the results of a sample.

Have to say, kidney infection not nice.

Just being at a funeral would push up blood sugars for anyone. But, you did well to have a wee snack during early hours - that obviously 'settled you':)

Oh dear, Sorry to hear you are not well @Stallen - Trimethoprim is a really good Antibiotic for the Urinary System - I think you just need to take things easy, and give the gym and fitness a rest, pamper yourself for a few days and drink loads of water. Take Care and get better - soon:)

6.7 this morning, 3 hours later 5.4 started going little weird so ate early lunch as I'm of to hospital, don't want to go hypo while I'm out. Can't usually go lower than 5 as I usually go hypo, anyway have good day all, they've forecast heavy rain here this afternoon!

Thanks @liam1955

my other half banned me from going to the gym yesterday,

I said I'd be fine at the gym, with the medication in a day or two.
Tomorrow, I've a two hour tennis match so will take it very easy today, and drink plenty of fluids, with a bit of luck it may get rained off, this is only the second time I've had a kidney infection, the last Time was 30 years ago, and I ran a half marathon that time, so I'm definitely planning on taking this one a bit easier.

Hello @liam1955 I didn't just eat half a roll! Lol I had a half with marmite and then went back and toasted the other half and had anchor butter yum! I've just swam for an hour did 42 lengths but got home and felt yuk. Tested sugar and it was 5.5 so that's ok. Hope your day is good. Sunny here now.

Afternoon. Not been on much but keeping busy with other stuff. FBG 7.2 and it's dull but dry here. :)

Very happy as the local Farm has just picked its first Asparagus of the season. Having it tonight with a Salmon Fillet.....can not wait.

@doolallylady - Hello Karen. Hope you are feeling a bit better today? How's the throat doing? William x

Sorry William, only just read your message. Thank you for asking and caring, still feel as though someone has taken a rasp to my throat, a lump hammer to my head and used my body for batting practise with either a cricket bat or a golf club. In other words, I'm fine, lol. Bloods are staying below 8 so far and I'm happy with that because I was expecting them to be up with not feeling well.
Hope you, Anna and everyone are having a good day. xx

@doolallylady - You still no better Karen you poor thing! Hope you have got somebody there to look after you? At least you have retained your "sense of humour" - get better soon.:) William x

@mo53 - Hope your not comming down with a bug? Are you feeling better now? No, 42 lengths is not acceptable - you have to go back and do the other 8 :Dlol. (Your goal is 50 now per day:D).
Those rolls have to last you sometime your ration is half a roll per day!!!
Looks like it's going to rain here?
Got letter and another blood request form in the post this morning saying my Liver Function is still Abnormally High, and to have a repeat Liver Function done within the next 7 days. I am 'baffled'?? R says we might as well go and get it done tomorrow as we are out doing the food shopping and will be passing York Hospital.
Wonder if this stubborn 10lbs I cannot shift is the weight of my Liver??

Hi @eldergarth
When I did Desmond last September about half the group were self testing and they were very impressed. They did't say everyone should be self testing but did spend time on what our levels should be, We were also told we should be under 7 by 2 hours after a meal and to aim for that. Sorry to hear that your experience was so negative.
Yeah afraid our instructor's were only interested in following there time schedule to the letter and any question's were quickly fobed off

I was told that they would have a one to one with me at some point during the day to discuss my problems as it didnt concern the rest of the group but guess what it never happened im affraid to say is the only way I can best describe it is a complete joke
