I've been awake an hour.Hope all is going well @ickihun, Ron's not had such a good one. The constant pain and muscle weakness is causing him to have less and less sleep. Tonight not sure what brought it on but he's had to use his G.T.N. spray . He's also been having random nose bleeds. Also all day he's had what he calls brain fog symptom. Ron's now in bed not sure how long that will last. Hope you all had a good bank holiday weekend.
Why sugar hun?Friday 25th May 2018 2:32 pm
Blood sugar:- 9.3 mmol/L.
What I've eaten today:-
3 each one halved Jamaican Bully Beef Sarnies
Made from:-
6 slices of Kingsmill Soft White Bread
1 can of corned beef
1 chopped onion
Finely ground black pepper
I had each sandwich at different times of today plus 6 mugs of decaf instant coffee with Longlife full cream UHT milk and 2 teaspoonfuls of granulated sugar each.
I have, my dear @ickihun, in the last few days given up having granulated sugar in my decaffeinated instant coffee, and my Carer bought me some Diet Lemonade from Sainsbury's yesterday and I still have several bottles of no-added-sugar apple and blackcurrant squash in my fridge. All I had to eat yesterday was Jamaican Corned Beef Sandwiches with Raw Onion and Onion Granules and Garlic Pepper. I haven't eaten a decent, home-cooked meal for ages that includes fresh vegetables and lean meat and I really miss my Mum and my Big Sister's cooking. They're both deceased now and I think a lot of the deterioration in my Asperger's Syndrome and Adult ADHD is attributed to their passing away. I'm seeing my care coordinator and a charge psychiatric male nurse to complete my support plan for my referral to assisted-living accommodation today. The FACE assessment has already been completed which includes my safeguarding issues, dodgy associations and some of my depleted coping strategies plus my urinary incontinence and accidental falls. I'm hoping the Panel approve my move to assisted-living accommodation as I'm really struggling. I also gave Max who came round this morning my last beige ten pound note and yesterday my friend Colin I gave a blue five pound note. Now I have a silver ten pence piece to my name. Why sugar hun?
Does your dad get a cooked meal? Maybe pair up for the 2 meals for £10/12 now and again for a catch up and then both getting a hot meal cooked and cleaned up in a friendly sociable surrounding? Or if he cooks ask if you can share the clean up afterwards?I have, my dear @ickihun, in the last few days given up having granulated sugar in my decaffeinated instant coffee, and my Carer bought me some Diet Lemonade from Sainsbury's yesterday and I still have several bottles of no-added-sugar apple and blackcurrant squash in my fridge. My poor old 87-year-old North Finchley-living father, my dear friend, @ickihun, is in terrific pain caused by hip degeneration, osteoarthritis and has a mechanical aortic valve in his heart as well as taking Warfarin on a daily basis for which he has regular blood tests to check his Warfarin levels. He also has kidney disease. But as far as I'm aware he doesn't have any mental illnesses or autism spectrum conditions. He is virtually housebound with intervention and support from my nephew, Steven who will be 25 in a few days time. My Dad, in spite of his ailing health, shows impeccable autonomy and does all his own housework, laundry, shopping (on his self-bought mobility scooter), has impeccable organisational skills and has a terrifically-gregarious persona and character. He has, however, had several serious heart attacks and a mini-stroke and has a defibrillator which is a device that shocks the heart and makes it start beating again if he goes into cardiac arrest. He really does love me but he finds, with his congestive heart failure, and type 2 insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, that the autistic meltdowns and safeguarding issues stress him out and could be "putting another nail in his coffin". He finds my condition stressful and worries himself sick about me. One of the most endearing facets is he's preparing me for a time when he passes away so when he does go to the glory it won't hit me as hard. I am the main beneficiary of his last will and testament but I won't have direct access to my inheritance money. My nephew, Steven, will be the receiver for the money and will be secondary to the trust fund that my Dad has arranged with his solicitor for me. He's not happy with me visiting him in North Finchley at his self-outright bought warden controlled flat because of my germs and bacteria that could contaminate his furnishings and give him potentially unpleasant bacterial infections. He does liaise with my care coordinator and care providers and I believe, if I'm honest, as my next-of-kin, that he's submitted a letter with my history that would support my move to assisted living accommodation.Does your dad get a cooked meal? I know what you mean thou.
I was once single and diabetic but had great also single friends and dad who we met up on Sunday days out. We went different places every week. We loved it.
Yes I think the strain of teaching may have helped trigger my illness. I've done nursing and teaching and I found teaching far more stressful, though it was in F.E. with more challenging students, i would say.And @tina_marie Way back in 1994 I was diagnosed with M.E. after a battery of tests. After diagnosis, I was (like Ron) relieved to at least have a label. The early years was simply never giving in for a single day and focusing on some sort of gentle exercise with plenty of rest. @Angelofthemarches , I too taught in Buckinghamshire - the strain of which may well have brought on the illness. Since then each job I've had (teaching/chef) has eventually brought on minor setbacks.
Bizarrely in recent years after T2, I have had boundless energy, I'm able to garden all day, drive to Barcelona, walk for three hours round Cornwall and generally assume I've moved past M.E.
Hoping to inspire both of you. xx (manly hug for Ron).
I'm back to see physio in July but he said his books are jammed pack'd.Ron has rung Derby hospital today to get more information on his next appointment. All the letter says is rehabilitation. He will be seeing a physio and also getting help with sleeping . Two years ago I told a neurologist that Ron needed physio he disagreed and said that pain clinic could help him more . Pain clinic discharged Ron at the beginning of May yet were still waiting for his discharge letter and instructions to gp on medication.
I'm so sorry to hear of your accident, @heh, my dear friend. It must have shaken you up, just like my accident did on Sunday 15th April this year when I damaged my intercostal muscles below my rib cage on the right-hand side of my body.Morning all

I'm so pleased you're not too badly hurt apart from your poor hand and other injuries that you sustained plus your being in a state of shock. I'm praying for you. My computer died on me yesterday, none of the home keys on the qwerty keyboard work so I'm back at my library using a public computer to log on to DCUK. I'm still thinking of you all, especially yourself, @ickihun, @eldergarth, @tina_marie, @13lizanne and @nomoredonuts. Thank you for being my friends and always showing beautiful caringness for me.
