Type 2 Life

The 5 for driving is only for insulin users or other meds that can cause hypos. Not relevant for those on diet only or Metformin.

Morning @ickihun sorry to hear the toddler was playing up! Interesting about blood pressure, I'm hoping for some lying in the sun time this weekend - will have to watch my bp. Do you have a home monitor - was tempted until seeing the one in our local Boots was £130 ...! Local surgery is 5 minutes away so I'll pop in when passing I think :)

Morning. Sunny skies and to be dry all week here. Been very busy and not been on much. FBG 6.9 mmol/l and having breakfast after my insulin injection. Have a nice day folks and for those poorly I hope you all pick up soon. :)

Good morning all. Sunny and mild in Cambridge today, with highs of 18 and blue skies. A run and then a full day in the garden. Have a great day whatever you're doing.

Good Morning, my lovely friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk type 2 life forum,

This morning I administered all of my oral prescribed medication, my two laxido orange soluble laxative sachets to prevent me from suffering from faecal impaction and lixisenatide glucagon-like peptide injection for my type two diabetes mellitus.

My blood glucose reading at 7:05 am, this morning, Tuesday 24th May 2016, was 5.7 mmol.

Good Morning, my friend on www.diabetes.co.uk, congratulations on your waking blood glucose of 6.3. Have a really lovely day. It's lovely and fresh and sunny here in South London. Hugs and a big cybercuddle to you, @Diamum5972 and take care and much love and best wishes to your son who has Asperger Syndrome, like myself.

Hi all
Had eye surgery last week, it went well, vision improving slowly.
BUT
The steroids are taking a high cost.
Blood gkucos spiking 3 to 4 times normal level.
At weekend of course.
NHS24 doc directed me to increase meds.
Monday saw eye doc...eyes fine....bg see gp.
Had emailed dn but dropped in at gp on way home from clinic.
Can't see anybody go home and wsit for doc to phone sometime today!
Doc eventually phoned layed diwn meds regime (maximums) don't test to often.
DN phoned later lots of sympathy I have to suffer the steroids... and side effects and made an appointment for 4 weeks time.
NOT FEELING WELL SUPPORTED!!!
Steroids get reduced tomorrow, only 5 more weeks to go.
THANX FOR THE CHANCE TO MOAN!!!
Kev.

Hello @mo53 - Thanks - I have been given an option for Friday: Castle Howard, or Harlow Carr, or Beningbrough Hall/Gardens = the decision is mine to pick one! (My Birthday Treat, though it's not on Friday) I am still drawn to Beningbrough because they do a gorgeous Carrot Cake and Spiced Orange Cake (for after meal treat).
Have you 're-started your Swimming Sessions? OR still working on the Garden? Wmx

Thanks Barbara :)
And for the Hug, as I have just walked/banged my shin on an open drawer and got a bruise comming and broken the skin surface! (What an idiot!!:D)

I am in shock.

Woke up and tested with 4.3 - then showered, went to garage, gave blood for testing then, had a full blown breakfast (the first one since being diagnosed in April). Bloods were only 4.9

I had toast and a fried potato thing and am really stuffed ... but just a small increase in levels after 2 hours! o_O

Hello @liam1955 I've just done some weeding, planting and watering in. I also planted sweet peas. The carrot cake sounds a great option. I should have swimming this afternoon but I'm waiting for a phone call. :)
