Yep, am totally thrilled to bits. It has been a complete shift and an eye opener, re thinking the way I look at food. I am so glad it was picked up ( in a routine eye exam) even though I did probably waste £300 on fancy varifocals and Jackie O prescription sunnies lol.
 
@LittleG - 7.2 is within range. Hope you made a note of what it was you ate? It helps if you keep a food diary: list the foods for that meal and your blood sugar result before and 2 hours after. :)

Yep I am a total nerd for notebooks so have be writing everything down, gives me an excuse to use a fancy fountain pen too. MMMMMMM sexy stationery.
I am also building up a whole Pinterest board of recipes meal ideas and potential sweet treats made with no sugar no carb ingredients. I will be an unsufferable diabetes bore soon haha.
 
@LittleG - not at all. That is very sensible. Did you know that there are quite a few threads on various diets and threads that other members list what meals they have eaten and also threads of recipes.
If you go to the top of this page and click on the word FORUMS, scroll down until you come to FOOD and NUTRITION - there you will see all the various threads = just click on. Hope this is of some help to you.:)

I just had a post meal blood reading of 7.2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RAH!!!!
I know it's still high but after a month on LCHF, a tickle of Metformin and hour and hours of Disco Treadmill I am on track!!!! Diagnosed with a ready of 17. something. I am so chuffed.

Good evening, my friend. Yes, I have been maintaining a much more efficient and adequate control of my diabetes. I did, however, consume a lamb doner kebab with minced lamb and its accompanying condiments and salad and there was a large pocket of pitta bread in there and that really contravenes the advice of one of the good, insightful, loving friends on www.diabetes.co.uk not to mention the Low Carb Programme, for which I feel certainly remorseful and a bit negligent. Tonight, however, I had a blood glucose reading, at ten minutes past midnight on Thursday 2nd June, 2016, was 6.8 mmol. I feel ultimately happy, satisfied and contented with this reading. I do make mistakes occasionally, the things I eat per se, and do get concerning blood sugar readings, but thanks to this forum I'm beginning to step out and recognise what's good to eat and what's bad to eat. I still need to work on eradicating Coffeemate from my hot beverages because a mutual friend on this forum very kindly and humbly advised me it contains glucose syrup. I will try to persevere in the fight against this awful disease which I haven't always had but the guidance my elderly Dad - also diabetic - has given me and still gives me as well as sufferers of diabetes in my life has proved valuable and much revered. Try cream instead, low carb and much more tasty.

Yes,,cream (double or single) has been a real game changer for me in coffee first thing. Has totally stopped me spiking when I wake. Lots of fat, very little sugar. I got the advice,,from a community member, ....maybe [email protected]'t quite remember, anyway....that's my coffee and cream calling. Have a great day:)

I often do almond milk (minimal carbs) and a dash of cream in my nespresso milk whizzer. I like a frothy coffee - this does the trick without using too many carbs, and improves the taste of almond milk. @bulkbiker put me onto this :)
 
Pleased to be back home now, shocking weather in Luton last night - 200 ft cloud base so glad we left our plane down in France. Luton airport shocking - they are 'transforming' it :))

FBG 6.5 which isn't too bad after a little blip yesterday. Learning more every time we travel. Have arranged to hire a fridge/freezer on our campsite for 3 weeks in August so will take a few loaves of LivLife bread - will help me resist the lovely baguettes in the campsite cafe. Organisation is the key - and the occasional treat :) am getting better at reading French labels too!

Morning all, hope everyone is well. I won't be on here much today, DS is having his dodgy tooth extracted today so he's going to need some TLC. His appointment is at 11 so true to form he's eating a day's worth of food before we leave so he won't get hungry :) Have a good one everyone

I learnt to fly in 1992, my partner learnt to fly at 17 before he could drive! He flies us, I'm navigator and co-pilot. It has been his dream to own a plane so he's a happy chap. It's fun most of the time - weather was just appalling this weekend though.

@ickihun - Good to read Vicky that you had a good night's sleep and back to a better fasting result today:). Mine was utter 'pants' this morning at 12.4 =:banghead:. I forgot to take my evening Insulin and I forgot to test before bed - what a state to be in!!
@13lizanne - Anna, hope You and Hubby have a lovely time on your picnic in Leven with the glorious weather today.:)

Morning everyone, don't know what's happening but phone buzzed today to inform me someone had posted!! Not had that for weeks, & it seems at this moment it's working didn't have to rejoin, past few mornings bgs 7's & even had an 8!!!! Hospital finaly made boots but no good, bad fit & had excruciating hip pain, to top it all I'm been bombarded with nasty txts from that 'friend' again. So stressed, well let's hope things are back to normal & I can get on forum without rejoining every time

Alpro do a coconut and almond low carb milk which makes your coffee sweeter.
Which I used at first to make the transition from milk and sweetners to just double cream. Have a look for it @autisticwonder1970 above the fresh milk in supermarkets. Lovely sweet coffee which i weaned to my less sweeter palette of now.

Now that's impressive. France must be beautiful on a low fly. I was due to have lessons at shoreham but money went skew wiff.
My friend teaches at biggin hill. Lora. Do you use biggin hill airport?
