Type 2 Life

Mostly everything happens when hes in bed . They are a mixture tremors first then seizures follow . Another problem he has is memory , forgetting to test so at the weekend I wrote out memos and stuck them around the house to remind him to test. He use to do this religiously but since his last hba1c hes forgetting .when he has tested they have mostly been in the 6s and 7s . Today he was 7.8 yesterday 6.8 Monday 7.2.
Those are excellent results @tina_marie . When is Ron's next appointment about the tremors?
Is he a bit happier lately?

He doesn't have anymore appointments until later on this month, that's to see if hes fit for work. Will let Ron explain that one. When we saw the Gp last Friday we told the GP about the tremors and seizures and to me he didn't seem that bothered.

Sitting waiting patiently for the post which should have my latest order of test strips. After the incident earlier in the week where my parcel of new music for my private music pupils for this year was left in the recycling bin (bins now moved out of temptation's way for ALL delivery people) I'm taking no chances with this lot. Now, if the piles of junk mail which had been posted through the letter box had gone straight in the recycling bin, I might have been waiting to commend his initiative rather than to point out I do NOT consider my recycling bin a safe place, I have neighbours who are more than happy to take in the occasional parcel as they are mostly home and I am not. Also, if they are not in, I work close to the collection office and it is no inconvenience to collect it!

Think all is well prepared for the new year otherwise... New students Monday, returners Thursday, nice timetable, new ID badge on its way, I've lost so much weight since I started this job when I showed it to our IT techie team they agreed I needed a new badge as I looked nothing like my photo! My reward for never losing my badge and needing a replacement (as well as prefacing my request with "You can say "No", but if you say "Yes", there's no rush as I know how busy you are..",) they said. Also, I asked at the moment they had the badge creating software up and running so they just took the photo there and then and added me to the list!

Good Morning, my dear friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk type 2 life forum,

I've been very well in myself this past few days, having impeccable blood sugar readings that range between 4.0 mmol and 6.0 mmol. I still haven't got my wifi sorted so I still come to the library, where I am now, and check Facebook and Type 2 Life and look up statistics on Google and Yahoo. I'm on PC 1 now which is a public computer.

I had my cup of morning coffee and 2 slices of wholemeal toast and marmalade for my breakfast.

I've also smoked 12 roll-ups this morning in my council flat lounge.

And I've consumed 1 beaker of tap water, too.

Have a lovely day, on this sun-hammered province of Lambeth with a cyan-blue sky and minimal clouds.

Morning all hope everyone's well, perhaps not correct site to ask but hopefully my good disbetic friends won't mind, anyone got any ideas for taking food out with you when your gonna be out for possibly few hours like when going to hospital, or gonna be put for 3/4 hours, does anyone eat/recommend musili for breakfast? If so any recipes for making your own, bit tired of eggs or bacon, never eat sausage or cheese now, sadly cheese I loved, anyone know recommend allowance of Greek yoghurt per day, sorry Ive not been on recently as I use my phone it's so small I can hardly see to read, bothers my eyes but liam@1955 & everyone else hope your all well now missed our chats

Hello @autisticwonder1970 I'm pleased that you have had a good few days, you certainly sound chirpy today. Have a lovely weekend and keep looking after your diabetes and other disorders the way that you are doing. Well done you!!

Hi @maureen5752 I always take the same food when we are going out for a picnic, I take a cold chicken drumstick and a little container of boiled eggs chopped up with butter and salt - don't forget a spoon to eat them with. Xx

Mmm... my usual take out with me food is cheese, pack of pine nuts, along with some oatcakes. I was thinking of adding a boiled egg to this, then making that my snack at bedtime with my last Metformin of the day if I'd not needed to eat it during the day.

@13lizanne @Japes thanks for good ideas, getting fed up with my usual stuff, I have regular appointments pr even if i go shopping once i get to 5.5 or 5 I start to go weird ready for hypo so I need to keep food handy, now I don't worry if anyone watches if I'm on train I just eat, if I'm put I try to sit discreetly some where, got moaned at once by a lady for eating piece of banana in aldi as I really went hypo! Some people don't understand, I'm getting mid 7's some mornings tecently, not good, trying to see doctor is flogging a dead horse, diabetic nurse said increase meds (over the phone) i feel like they don't care I'm just a problem, hope your all well, heavy rain here today, been trying to catch up by using magnifying glass to read, seems lots of the regulars sent around now, where's everyone gone! Good day to you all x

Hello @maureen5752 as always it is lovely to see you are posting, despite this horrible format. I asked a mod a few days ago about it and I was told the "technies" are dealing with it and may take some time - so we just have to be patient. I use my tablet all the time rather than crank up the main computer. And I am having to enlarge the screen on my tablet and pressing all wrong keys and making a "pigs ear" of things - I just give up!!! So, I just "lurk" about reading posts. Stuck indoors today, it pouring down. Car went into garage today for repairs before having it's MOT in few weeks.
Have a lovely weekend. Liam :)
