Type 2 Life

Good morning, my friends,

I awoke this morning at 10:00 am and chatted to my elderly Dad on Facebook Video Call and enjoyed talking to him very much indeed.

Just before I chatted to my Dad, I cooked and ate a fried egg wholemeal sandwich with tomato ketchup which I cut into four little triangles.

It's a lovely hot, sunny day here in Stockwell, South London.

Have a lovely day, my friends. My friend Gary has gone to Folkestone for the Bank Holiday Weekend with his mum and a friend and are staying in the Hotel Burstyn. My mum and dad stayed in that hotel once and they used to get on the cross channel ferry for a round trip to get all their duty frees.

Much love to you,

From,

Johnny Baker (@autisticwonder1970), a sufferer of Asperger Syndrome and Musculoskeletal Disorder. xXx.

I haven't had any since having a chat with my gp.
I think I've now accepted my diagnosis and hay ho just another disease to keep in it's place. I felt like I did when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. Totally fed up but acceptance makes a huge difference.
To keep my heart disease low I need to exercise but because I cannot at mo I'm having bariatric surgery to take the pressure off my heart and diabetes.
At least I feel I'm doing something to help my health and longevity!
Hope you and A are ok?
Tbh we've had a difficult week, he still isn't eating properly. This weather isn't helping, it's so stuffy inside the house. We went out for a little walk round the block this morning and that's the first time he's left the house since Tuesday when we went to see the doctor.

I think if we just make sure plenty of drinks. Even a milkshake will help none diabetics til the temperature settles down. Does he like ice cream?

Thanks for your suggestion Vicky, unfortunately he doesn't eat ice cream. He's on a sugar free diet because of problems with his teeth, he finds brushing his teeth difficult because he has problems with his fine motor skills. He's drinking gallons though, he's even been drinking plain water which is unheard of!

Happy Birthday William hope your having a good day .x

Hi just thought I'd share this It's now been a year since having stent grafted for AAA's and just had the first yearly check up but had to go to the dreaded QMC for it. Left home at 12 noon got home at half five talk about stress blood sugars have been up since.

Had ultra sound and the vascular scientist said well the good news is (my heart sank) but the good news was the aneurysm has shrunk by 2 centimetres I was waiting for the other shoe to drop you know and the bad news is but it didn't happen great. Then had to go for X-ray over two hour wait while people coming down from ultra sound after me had been and gone pain and anger levels rising all the while must admit I got a bit voluble then an hours drive home across town. A bit of a rough day. But at least that's over till next year.

Brilliant news John.
I think everyone's blood pressure is up at mo. Heat hasn't helped?
At least you can relax and enjoy a relaxing week now?
Well done mate.
Did diet have any influence?

Hi Vicky, I am back from hols but haven't been on the forum much I was in hospital for a few days on my return. Home again now. How are you?

Thanks Vicky yes I think the diet and weight loss has helped, the stent has relieved the pressure on the wall of the aorta allowing the aneurysm to shrink the hope being that it will eventually shrink down to close down to the outside of the stent. I must admit that the check up has reconcentrated my mind an my vascular problems whereas I had been pushing it to the back of my mind over the past 12 months.

I do hope your bariatric surgery goes well when you get it and that it goes some way to solving your problems.

When I'm feeling anxiety I play some meditative or relaxing music light a scented candle normally Frankincense or Lavender and lay or sit back till my mind quietens down a bit.

I've noticed with me it depends what day it is as to whether I'm feeling sorry for myself. I'm a silly moo sometimes.
I'm very concerned you have been in hospital. Did you come home feeling better than you went in?

I have such an interferring 4yr old who still wakes up occasionally through the night like a baby. I'm wondering if he'll ever grow up!
I might need him assessed if he doesn't settle down at school.
I can never relax. If it isn't 4yr old its idiot neighbours unsettling my hubby.
I just cannot face moving house, I wouldnt be able to box things off never mind lift one or 200!

Good afternoon, my lovely friends,

My blood sugar was 5.4 mmol today, which is excellent. So far I've eaten one mackerel sandwich mid morning and one for lunch. I've also eaten 1 small Granny Smith Apple and 1 Peach. Pigged out on Tuesday on blueberries, strawberries and blackberries from Sainsbury's.

I'm now watching Patchwork Pals on CBeebies, Sky Channel 614, a nice kiddies programme about different animal characters like a sloth, a koala and a butterfly and they teach people and predominantly preschool children about everyday life.

Lots of love to you

Good afternoon, my friends,

So far, today, now, 12:23 PM BST on Friday 2nd June 2017 AD I've eaten 1 chopped ham and pork sandwich for my breakfast. My blood glucose was 8.0 mmol/L. Then I drank 1 mug of coffee with Nestle coffee mate light and one teaspoon of artificial granulated sweetener. Then my blood glucose was 5.3 mmol/L. Just drank 1 glass of tap water. Today I've taken my morning prescribed oral medication and my Lixisenatide 20 mcg GLP-1 injection, injected into my subcutaneous fat on my upper abdomen.

Lots of love from Johnny xXx.

Hi Johnny, you are doing great with your blood glucose levels I see. A slice of chopped ham and pork on cold buttered toast used to be my favourite snack. Ah these were the days :) I hope that you are enjoying the sunshine? Take care

A very good, peaceful and pleasant afternoon to you @13lizanne, thank you so much for your thoughtful words. I love Sainsbury's Basics chopped ham and pork and nice, crusty Bloomer white bread with a light scattering of sunflower seeds over the crust. I am enjoying the sunshine, it's very mood-lifting and enjoyable and there's a lovely, gentle breeze coming through my sitting room window which is very relaxing and pleasant. I'm so sorry to read you've been in hospital, poppet, I pray you get well soon. Much love to you with my impeccable faith in the risen Christ, from Johnny Baker, a sufferer of Asperger Syndrome xXx.

Hi guys quick question. Has anyone had any issues with cups of tea raising sugar levels?

My meter arrived today. Yay! My by levels were so far today 8.2 before dinner/lunch, 6.9 2 hours after, had a cup of tea somewhere around the test not sure if before or after, then tested an hour after the 6.9 and it was 7.5. Am guessing it's the cup of tea but can't think what else it could be.
