Type 2 Life

Me too!

However I feel happier adding a bit more detail here.

5.2 for me this morning so I guess neither last night's Indian meal, the beers or the Spanish white wine on the patio were too disastrous

Respectfully, this leading question seems very loaded given the recent bout of limitations enforced upon very appropriate, diabetes related tangents of expression in another thread, which I'm assuming prompted the creation of this fully inclusive one. I don't understand the notion of "hiding" helpful information or otherwise, while it is clearly being posted for all to read in a public forum. I offer my perspective without any sense of provocation and sincere gratitude for the ability to do so in a forum from which I continually draw great relief, strength and inspiration as I maneuver through the first couple of months worth of emotional and physical obstacles in finding a working management system for my own diabetes.
You need a publisher lol.

FBG 5.0 this morning and lost a pound whilst away on holiday :) Had a lovely break from reality, and a little break from low carb, now I'm back on the wagon with both feet and "looking forward" to seeing my DSN on Tuesday

That is good after a Chinese takeaway ..the last time I had sweet and sour chicken I had 16 .4 nearly scared myself to death lol
I seem to be able to eat more carby foods than a lot of people on here although I do have the occasional shock - tortillas will push my BS up to at least 10.0 and I haven't had the courage to try pizza yet although I used to have about one a month!!

YAY @Alzebra. Tight control of your BG and STILL losing weight, even after a holiday where you relaxed your food choices so you could have a fun holiday with your loved ones. Chuffed for you. Your hard work is rocking those numbers. Best wishes. X

6.6 this morning, sore throat, cold coming on - I guess that accounts for elevated reading. Typical going to Glastonbury tonight to see Ray Davies and Joan Armatrading... time for a dose of Beechams :grumpy:

Joan Armatrading!! OMG that takes me back. Hope you feel well enough to enjoy this evening.

Had to listen "The weakness in Me" .... makes me think about my carb weakness now. LoL.

Better late than never FBG: 5.5mmol/L

As aside when you read BS does your mind go to bulls**☆☆ rather than blood sugar:confused: ??

I remember her too ! Feel ancient now lol. FBG 7.8 mmol/l today.

It does look yummy @Type2Guy. And, so it should be at that price! ;) May I add...you DO have a way with words. Lmao. In Blighty, we'd call you "flowery!" :D I expect no less then a full, comprehensive review....in 3D!!! X
The price on the sticker for the bread is reflected in US dollars! So it's not dirt cheap like those delicious loaves of cakey white bread from the mainstream supermarket that could double as pillows. However this loaf is reasonably priced, especially compared to the more artisinal styles that are popular with the foodies that are too busy Instagramming their perfect plates of locally sourced molecularly gastronomized potato chips that are essentially six Pringles for sixty times the price.

As for the taste of the bread, it hit the spot, but in the same way a good movie edited for television lacks some of the better parts to tell the full story. I kept thinking, this low carbohydrate bread would be so much more delicious in between a couple slices of some high carbohydrate bread. I am still close enough to the inception of this dietary shift to feel the pangs of withdrawal, which may never go away. And the pure irony of low carbohydrate bread upon its first bite is the immediate craving to double the portion size as a means of getting the full effect.

Morning folks

5 1 for me this morning.

It appears I am getting away with the liberties I am taking while on holiday too.

However we have a barbecue leg of lamb planned for late lunch / afternoon snack and I was kind of fancying a Spanish red (or maybe a chilled rose) to help ease it down

Not long left now, flying back to sunny Yorkshire on Thursday and quite looking forward to some proper weather again.

It's been duller and closer here for longer than I can remember - uncomfortable, sticky heat, not the bright blue skies and dry heat I was hoping for

4.5 this morning. Hoping for a quiet day after the last mad 2 days. Helping daughter move flats me knackered lol

BGL this morning 4.3mmol/L Ketones 2.2
Happy to report all family and friends back safely from the snow, with no injuries. They are all exhausted from their endeavours and have gone early to bath and bed. This is a good thing, as I am exhausted with making beds all day. Thank goodness for Doonas!
