Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

My fasting is 12.1 !! It’s going up and up. I can’t take metformin so was on. Rybelsus but cannot get at any chemist rang 32 last Friday, nothing !! They put me on Gliclazide and Empagliflozin and they didn’t suit me piled weight on and was wetting myself. Also had very bad long covid. 2 stone heavier going slimming world and Mediterranean diet and it’s not moving. I’m so worried I’m getting panic attacks. I’m on Tresiba slow release and Nova rapid fast release and even that not bringing blood sugars down to target range. Anyone any ideas ??

Rybelsus is no longer available, as you've discovered. Unfortunately, the body adapts to the continued presence of a drug and IME switching to an alternative medication seldom proceeds smoothly at first.

Today's FBG isn't great and, if I were you, I would make an appointment to see your GP. S/he may want to adjust your current medication. There are other anti-diabetic drugs they can prescribe.

For dietary advice and help with weight loss, I'd raise a separate thread in the Food and Nutrition neighbourhood of the forum. There are lots of knowledgeable and experienced folk there. Unlike Slimming World, we won't charge you!
