Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

4.8 this morning going back down to 600 to 800 calories and very low carbs seems to have done the trick but not sure how long I can keep that going.
Careful John, you aren't in need of very low calorie. Can't medics offer help/advice rather than you taking drastic action?

@Contralto I've been using Google to find out. I had a blood test after a flare up on a joint in my hand and it confirmed gout. This is just the same but in my foot.

Bs this morning 5.1
i find taking a tablespoon full of cider vinegar in fizzy water gets rid of gout pretty quick ...i havent had it recently but i know how painful it is

Good morning everyone 5.8 for me today
@Prem51 i indulged in oppo ie cream last night but I was a little bit more restrained than you, only had 3 small scoops@ianpspurs the halloumi bacon breakfast is definitely a winner, this may become a favourite for a while, can see myself making a big batch as they could also be nice with some salad or veg as a lunch or dinner

@jayney27 Pleased the halloumi and bacon went well - with those 2 ingredients it is hard to see how it couldn't be fantastic but kudos for alerting me to this. The big batch sounds a good idea but I fear 2 things. Firstly, number 1 son will try them then hunt through every fridge, freezer and cupboard to find them whenever he comes. Secondly, I will fall in love with them and chnanel my grandfather by finishing them in one go claiming they looked lonely without their mates! Also, where does one find this Oppo so I can see how it compares to homemade while I am experimenting? Scoured local Waitrose as I had seen it once before but no joy - (well plenty of joy but no Oppo)

I take it you are ok with that level @chancellors if on insulin, hence the winner. @JanetMcDowell good start and indeed it is fortunate the world will not be deprived of your vivacious presence due to perambulatory disruption

Just as well, I’ve got my grandsons sing along nursery event this morning then his company for the rest of the day. He’s at that stage where he tells me he loves me. Bit of a wet kisser though, hope that improves when he’s older.

@JanetMcDowell your grandson sounds amazing and will no doubt inherit his grandmother's all round wonderfulness:angelic: My grandson is a sturdy chap who prefers launching himself at one from a sprint start but I could learn to like him with time (those who spread fake news claim I spoil him. Lock her up);)

Ally Pally, are you on metformin and giving you tummy upset? It happened to me for a month, but I am now okay.

This is my second attempt with Metformin but now 500mg twice daily instead of 1000mg twice. In addition I take Januvia 100mg in the morning & insulin at bedtime. I’m determined to persevere - but with higher dosage I was really in a bad way. Thanks for your words of encouragement
