Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Happy Monday team
Thank you all for your well wishes. My nose is not so sore and my eye is blacker, that said my pride is well bruised (being a Leo us lions don't take kindly to bashing ourselves) ;)

SO... Down to business Forgot to test first thing, went in the shower had brekkies (eggy bread with bacon and 3 cherries... Mmmm! Coffee and double cream) stabbed my finger watched the blood sucked up the strip and saw the screen flash up 5.8

Now today Mon 20th I start my 7th week on insulin and am off to see, for the first time, my diabetes specialist at the hospital.
I am unsure what he will think about my 30% reduction in insulin and my 50% reduction in Glicaside in 7 weeks!

I know what I think he should say.... (My daily average is 6.0) However that might differ hugely from what he actually does say.

UPDATE: I have just returned from my hospital appointment.

Quote from 'The diabetic specialist' after downloading my reader readings...

"In my twelve years of working in this field this is the best set of figures I have seen. I have only seen two or three other sets of readings that come anywhere close to this in all that time!"

He went on to say... "I want you to stop taking insulin with immediate effect!"

O M G!

In my humble experience it is the "what I eat" part that is the most important, but using the technology (blood glucose meter) is what proves to all of us what the correct path is for T2D people...
I fully concur. I have been testing ten- twelve times a day for almost 2 months. I wish that I had found this site in 2014 when I was first diagnosed my friend.
