Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.7 this morning...was 5.3 last night 2 hours after eating? Is it supposed to go up overnight when not consuming anything?
Are there particularly important times to test? I am very new to all this and have been doing tests before eating and 2 hours after.

4.9 this morning :)
Hi Rachox I applaud you on your BG control and maintenance of Diabetes when I was on here years ago I was in low BG levels but if I was in the 4 mmol I got the shakes brain fog and couldn’t function so I prefare to be no lower than 5 to 6
everyone is different what suits one person doesn’t suit another it’s what suits yourself. But I’m not complaining about being in the 7s at moment it’s better than what it was and it’s still in range so I will see how I go with it all, but your doing great.K

Hi Stephen your better asking an Administrator or your diabetic doctor or nurse but your liver can dump excess blood
glucose during the night and that is all it may be. But with your BG readings being in the 5s you shouldn’t worry about small differences. But check with others or people mentioned above, you’re doing fabulously with it all. K

I’m no longer a moderator but I don’t think anyone will mind if I just post a reminder that this is a ‘very low chat level’ thread. Over the last few days more chat has been creeping In. If you have questions that need a reply please feel free to post your own thread in an appropriate forum. Or if you’d like to address a particular member there’s always the Private Msg route.

5.2 this morning ... Down from 5.5 before bedtime... so the opposite to what happened the previous night... I have ordered a constant monitor ( Freestyle Libre 3), hopefully it will give me a better idea of how I am processing what I am eating. It should arrive in a few days!
