I've gained over 2 lbs since last Friday, 148.8 lbs today.
I don't know why as I haven't been eating much last week, usually just a salad in the evening. Size 30" trousers and shorts I bought last Summer are now getting a bit tight, and I'm buying size 32".:(
My weight isn't too bad though, and my blood sugar levels are still good, so I suppose that is more important.

85.2 kg today. 0.4 kg down on the week. Slowly dropping. Hope to hit my target of 84 kg before I go on holiday in 2 weeks. Might be a bit stricter with my IF and see if can do 36 hrs fasts instead of 24 hours.

Good morning everyone. This week I have not done my mushroom and cream sauce/gravy or been keeping a packet of nuts in my bag. My weight loss has reflected the reduced calorie intake. I am now 76.2kg. Which is a good overall loss since diagnosis last September.

I still need to lose a couple of stone but hubby had to pull my trousers up a few times when the bank holiday rain made my old jeans too heavy for my old belt (I am sure we are going to laugh about it once we tell people the story) so today we are going to get me some clothes to see me through the summer.

Having spent the last 9 months researching everything I can about diabetes/diet/cholesterol/cvd/alzheimers (mother who does take her statins)/spinal issues (father who is now immobile)/stomach/intestinal issues (hubby)/designing and selecting plants for new gardens (deadline 31/5) and additional lottie we were bullied into taking (great timing:-not) I am going to stop regular weighing, turn my brain and computer off and socialise even if it does mean listening to the implanted memories of the 70's from my friends who are on facebook.

I will stick to my diet (clearly my calorie intake and outputs are close to balance (per 70's mathematical principles at least). My next appointment with the dn is September. My mri scan on my leg is in a fortnight, my glaucoma check up in 6 weeks. So I am going to be haunting the local medical facilities for as long as they survive "the will of the people" (tee hee:- my gran had her teeth out for her 21st birthday. That is what people did pre NHS ( born 1945). I am convinced people are illogical).

Thank you everyone for all your help and support. I would have floundered in a morass of misinformation, confusion and PR without you. Well done on all your work in managing your own health and weight whilst helping and supporting everyone else. Have a wonderful summer. I expect I will be back but for the next few weeks at least I only need to keep a check on emails and weather forecasts so I will not have my tab for this site open for most of the day anymore.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and the secret of arriving at your target is to know where your destination is.

OK, I finally got around to weighing myself last night because it had been the kind of day where I couldn't take the time. I felt really bloated and from my perspective after dinner, had the kind of tummy that makes for poster child fro the American diet, but m much to my surprise, I was only 143.4 without the pijamas and 144.4 with, rendering those thrift store comfy cotton flannel owned by whoever donated them for sale a handy 1 pounder, so for the future, every time I weigh in them, I will know to add exactly one pound.

Apropos of weight, I had a discussion with my pulmonologist after the conclusion of my recent sleep study, a repeat of a study I did in late 2009. The difference between then and now was that I no longer had apnea, if I slept more or less on my side but might have an occasional breathing problem flat on my back, but not even serious in such a case as my oxygen levels always stayed above 90% whereas Apnea me was dipping down to 80%. He reminded me that the weight loss could have contributed to this much healthier result and I said "What weight loss?" Evidently, then I clocked in to that location at 158 pounds and since now I hover in and around 143 that would seem like a fifteen pound difference.

Whereupon I started laughing at the hilarious snorting stage about the weight itself, saying that 5 pounds of those were fake. How so, asked good doc? Because that weight was from one of those offices that will haul you in off the street, boots jacket, showes and all and, while weighing you with all your gear, take your blood pressure after you've been running through traffic, negotiating a parking space, running up the elevator and down the hall, negotiated a sign in and co-pay process, had a couple three enlightened individuals get seriously in your face, barely made your appointment on time, had to fill in redundant comprehensive information they already should have kept on file and then taken to yet another location forthat blood pressure. Meanwhile, your "vitals", both of which were under less than optimal circumstances, are entered into an electronic record and used to determine fairly serious health decisions. Some enlightened offices will, on the other hand. tell you to strip to your panties, give you something that barely covers your crotch and exposes only one boob in thin cotton that weighs less than a pound to put on your bod, weigh you, allow you a five minute rest before they support your arm for a blood pressure test, utilize a 21st century blood pressure machine that also feature a pulse oximeter and a temp taker with a sleeve that also registers irregular heart beat while you relax, but most offices are not so enlightened. There had actually only been a ten pound weight loss when apples are compared with oranges. Btw, did he know that the last time I was in his office, the assistant weighed me wearing a backpack full of records ? While she was entering my alarming weight gain into my medical record, I was weighing the backpak. heh

Whereupon, the doc asked me two questions that docs had not bothered to ask before. One was, what was my weight then in late 2009, since i am a person who weighs herself several times a week on a digital scale. And the other was how much had I weighed in my adult life at the maximum, the answers being 152 and 196 pounds.

So, does ten pounds make a differencey to something like sleep apnea? Maybe, but since muscle weighs more than chub, maybe the muscle loss I endured painfully in the intervening period and maybe if I am ever able to regain that muscle, maybe I will be back at 152, And if I do become fit and fine a, back to my old self when I used to row crew and run track, before babies and all that life, what would I actually weigh? That was 125-135
Well done on your weight loss to date. Brilliant! :)

I'm feeling optimistic for next friday weigh-in. Not seeing dietitian til 14th june.
Today I can concentrate on weight loss. I have my protein bread in too. Soya bread for an emergency loaf too.
Morrisons were out of protein bread yesterday morning.
I may have to call store and see if I can have some kept for me. My weight loss depends on it.
I have to eat something, right?

@ickihun no I don't think so as I have to take furosemide.
Can you see any extra water on your body? Muscles become heavier if they hold onto water they feel they'll need to function properly.
When was your furosemide last reviewed?

Even though I didn't lose last week I had kids off school so my routine was different.
Hoping now hungry 10yr old back to school I can forget about food making, constantly.
Haven't much in other than staple carbs and tinned fish til wednesday. Even frozen veg down to a bag of spinach. I have a few eggs for 4 of us to share.
When 10yr old is off he can eat like a locust. Ha ha

Here's to friday's weigh-in everyone! :)

Weighing has been a bit haphazard lately as a family member has gotten seriously sick, necessitating several trips here and there to follow up. I weighed myself at 73.2 kg at one point, and on Monday I was at 72.8 kg - 14.9 kg down since Christmas. Only 9 kg to go.

Let's hope this crisis doesn't make me backslide, as it's difficult to find food to eat at airports etc - everything is pure carbohydrate.

Some are eating mc donalds but without the bun or fries. Diet drink or water. Don't know if any help to your specific diet?

84.2 kg today, down 1 kg on the week. Managed to do some longer fasting periods, which have really helped. Now very close to my target weight.

Not sure how to proceed once I have reached my target weight given how ingrained LCHF, IF & long walks have become an integral part of my life.
