What does the UK leaving the EU mean for us?

You have a very disturbed mind and what kind of father abandons his child after offering fruit OR chocolate? It wasn't the clown that started the referendum it was the father! :wideyed:

He didn't.
He offered fruit, or no fruit.
Your clown tempted you away for a promise of chocolate.
There was no chocolate until the clown made it up.
Then it became fruit, or chocolate.
Your father made an error of judgement, in that he thought you were mature, and would resist the clown's empty promises.
He never expected the clown to offer chocolate in his name, and wouldn't ever expect you to believe someone could offer chocolate in his name, and that you were so foolish to believe them.
And now you have no fruit, and no chocolate.

I keep hearing this repeated on this forum but I haven't heard one person say to me they regret their decision. I have not seen one person write on social media that they regret their decision. Feels to me as though it is just propaganda from the remain voters.
If there are any leave voters who read this and have changed their mind, please do let us know and why.

Try watching yesterday's Question Time on iPlayer.

The clowns wheeled this car out & the wheels fell off...

Nah, nice try, it was definitely chocolate and fruit he offered, the clown just advertised how good the chocolate could be. At the end of the day, no matter how much you try and twist the story, it WAS the irresponsible father who offered the choice. Let's hope mum turns up and sorts it all out! ;)

Yes, let's hope someone can bail out the child that won't accept responsibility for their actions.
They certainly need someone adult to help them out of their mess.

It's not the 'child' not taking responsibility for their actions, it's the 'adults'.

Yes exactly that. My conscience is clear, I voted remain and had good reasons for doing so (mostly from the experts who know a lot more than me) . I'm pretty upset that people on here are accusing me of not caring about the poor and that's what they are reading into my posts. I voted remain for the poor as well as for everyone else. People are saying in 5 years time....can the poor wait that long? I haven't heard one good reason to vote leave, just that some feel Utopia is just around the corner, they don't know why...they just hope so. Really? You couldn't make it up could you?

The poor have waited this long. what is another 5 years!

That's the thing.
The only ones allowed to vote were adults.
It's no use having a tantrum, kicking your heels and screaming 'I'm still a child' now.
The kids have demanded to be treated like an adult,
You've been allowed your adult responsibilities, dad let you grow up.
You ran off to the clown.

Good choice.

So, are you going to stand by your new adult status?
Or admit you made a complete mess, run back to dad, shut up, hide in your room, and let the grown ups sort your mess out.
Or still squeal the grown ups need to do it your mad clown way, while still being a spoilt kid, who needs dad to sort it out for you?

Guess what.

Dad's gone to the beach.
Try not to burn his house down while he's away.

Well there you go, what can I say, seems there is quite a lot you don't understand. I wasn't 'clamouring' for anything, neither was most of the population! It was offered to us - as PM it was his responsibility to have a forward plan (other than running away). As PM he is the only one that can activate article 50, so it is his responsibility, or should I say was! It is like offering your child a choice: a nice chocolate bar or a nice piece of fruit. You are hoping the child is going to choose the fruit but of course, they chose the chocolate. Unfortunately for you, you do not have chocolate and no shops are open and you have no intention of going to find any chocolate. Perhaps you shouldn't have given the option in the first place. Perhaps you should have made sure you had the chocolate available or a means to obtain some?
Here here! Well said:banghead:

I was a leave voter.
I made my decision many months ago (I was not influenced by anything either side said, and I watched every debate) and did not change my mind during the campaign.
I do not regret my vote.
No-one I know personally that voted leave regrets it.
What I do regret is all the bitterness, recriminations, unpleasantness spouted by some remain people.
I don't regret my leave vote & nobody I know personally does. I do agree, its become very nasty. Some are acting like babies that have spat their dummies out!

Is it just me that is sick of the insinuations that all leave voters are silly/stupid or irresponsible children? This needs to stop!

We have exercised democracy and we have to exit the EU.

We now need a statesman of "churchillian" stature to guide us through to the other side, with a heart, vision and passion towards this entire nation and across all parties.
Well, I know who it isn't:

I think its about time that debate, if any, is toned down...

Other thoughts...

Polls by media:

Has anybody ever taken place and been asked their opinions in a poll
For the media? Where do they get their poll persons from?

Just watching Newsnight with more polls.. And just wondered if anybody from
a Unite union that they are quoting has been asked their opionion?

Yes and also the insinuations about leavers being racist or responsible for nasty racist hate crime that is committed by a small and nasty proportion of society who are scum regardless of the referendum outcome and DO NOT speak for myself and every leave voter I know but yet little nasty insinuations and hints are dropped by some sulking remainers with their own personal agendas, get over it and accept the result and stop insinuating that people who voted leave are plebs!

It's interesting, the level of feeling that this arouses.

Whatever happens in the future, the "Them and us" attitude will not be eradicated for a generation or two. Roughly 50% of the population will resent the other 50% for forcing them into a position they absolutely don't want.

That can't be changed and no level of "That's democracy, live with it" will make any difference. I suspect, if a full "Leave all of The EU edifices" is where we end up, a significant proportion of people will want a path to leave the UK!
