enjoy your break it sounds amazing and must lookup the lasagne recipe sounds great

Off to pack now for our annual family Storm Watching break in a cottage overlooking Fistral beach, I’m really looking forward to it, even though it’s just down the road now. The wilder the weather the better!
That sounds like an amazing holiday! Hope you have a wonderful time!

sounds like a bit of a nighmare but with a happy ending - what sort of meter and strips do you have? know several people have had probs with their code free

I agree I have a need to replace lack of body padding with layers of clothes! Felt it last winter but lost more since then!
It’s surprising how much difference it makes when you don’t have a bit of body fat to keep you warm isn’t it? I’ve rarely felt the cold in the past, unless it had been freezing and I had not been properly dressed, however now I feel cold even though I am dressed up and have heating on

I’ve got the accuchek performa nano - I believe the strips are coded as say 222 on the box. There is of course the chance that every tub I’ve had since diagnosis have been reading low and the pot this week was a true higher one, but that seems a)highly unlikely and b) too depressing to even think of being true Tried again before my meal tonight and 2 new strips read 4.3 & 4.4, whilst the old strip read 6.8! So I’ve binned the old ones as refuse to believe they’re right

Celeriac is wonderful, so versatile and tasty, to think a year ago I had no idea and had never tried it

I’ve not been a jumper girl for years, that has changed this year

Same here - I never wore them as they were so unflattering, clinging to that spare tyre, now I can just revel in feeling cosy and not worry about it. There are so many good things about lchf!

Same for me.
I am working on Sunday at our Christmas fair and we were asked to wear our best Christmas jumpers! I panicked for a minute as I don’t own one. I ordered one which arrived and was surprised to find it was too big, returned it for a smaller size I will now be festive and warm in my first Christmas jumper

Can never have too many jumpers!

Now there’s a woman after my own heart.

Cold here too. Wearing one of my many new jumpers! Just back from Pilates (seems to be the day for Pilates/Yoga) which brought my BG down to the lowest reading of the day. Freezing in the hall though. Will need a new Pilates jumper

Lunch was M&S Serrano ham and manchego cheese rollitos.

Dinner was 2 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausages, 3 rashers streaky bacon and 1 fried egg followed by a little piece of deliciousness: 27g of Hotel Chocolat 65% supermilk chocolate with hazelnuts. Was worried it would be too sweet, but not so. Very smooth and very rich. Bodes well for the supermilk advent calendar @shelley262 - I also bought one of those. Nutty Yule Log has arrived at my Dad’s.

Nice walk!

I agree I tried some of the supermilk - but the 80% supermilk which was one of my birthday bars and was less carbs than the 100% bars and really liked it. It makes a change and quite mellow. Cant wait to 1st december to try the 65% version in the advent calendar. I bought the nutty yule log and have put away for Christmas but we are all excited about it it looks lovely although wondering how we'd cut it into the recommended 14 servings! My youngest especially may want a bigger piece!

I looked at some 80% supermilk but it had more carbs than the 65% with hazelnuts (they’re whole hazelnuts). 14 servings for the Yule log is very optimistic, although it looks very rich. My Dad likes dark chocolate too. His wife doesn’t so we may get it all to ourselves! The Hotel Chocolat range is quite unpredictable - can’t just judge by the cocoa percentage.

Brilliant

I dont know that meter but strips for any can be dodgy and think it is more likley this is the case if the majority ofyour strips are lower. I read a tip on here that as they deteriorate if exposed to temp changes for example when opening the pot and that its good to transfer 10 at a time into your old pot so they can be mainly stored in a cold dry place - it limits the temperature changes on the whole pot of 50 so giving that a go. it also makes it easier to get them out of the pot!!
