What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Zayberflote - I drank a lot of hibiscus
cinnamon tea. Had a long soak in a bath

Took my boy to football - got a more sensible reading before bed of 7.6, checked at 3pm for a somogi effect but a reading of 8.6.

Woke up to a 6.3.

Feel I’m back at square one with food - if I can’t eat a roast. Roll on summer salads.
Thank you

Today I got up at 7 o'clock, put on my sweatshirt and drank a piece of 90% cocoa chocolate. Then I went to run for about 40 minutes, through a field next to my house with very nice views, overlooking the mountains. When I got home, I had my real breakfast, an infusion and a toast with honey and nuts. delicious. I also added some honey to the infusion.

Today I plan to eat macaroni and tomato. And as a second I'll have some lettuce. Finally for dessert I'll have some fruit, probably an orange.

Storm 'Gareth' is making itself felt here in this part of Yorkshire with high winds and driving rain. Great!! My eBay bought pink daffodils chose today to flower and were immediately flattened by the rain. Roll on summer.

This is a fasting day for me - I started after dinner yesterday and will next eat dinner tomorrow. So I will just be drinking black decaff coffee, herbal / fruit teas and still mineral water.

Bed on Sunday 6.9 FBG 6.5. Back on the school run. No 2 was dithering so almost had to drag him along the road. Niece is back from Mexico (jetlagged) other one still in Thailand. Rain is doing my mini wee willie winkie daffodils no good whatsoever. Still in that "cant be bothered" mood. I reckon I need school holidays to come around - 3 weeks and 2.5 days to go!
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream. Slice Tesco high protein with pate pate.
L. Managed to force myself to make more Dr Almond bread. Got a big stock in as goodness knows what will happen with Brexit. Has to have a couple of slices with lurpack once it was ready and still warm. Back to the baguette/ciabatta one.
D. Loads of leftover steak and kidney so stew , celeriac mash and sprouts. Made for an easy dinner. Later had a mix of blackberries and raspberries with a scoop of halo top.
Loads of posts to catch up on. Will do it gradually I think.

It really is miserable isn’t it! Today is the day school were late opening the doors to let the kids in. The whole playground was full of soaked through children & parents. Took me almost an hour to dry out when I got to work - actually think i could have wrung out my skin never mind my clothes - although not sure that would have been entirely acceptable behaviour in the office

You can say that again!

Crossing lady was telling me that was the same Mrs Angry that used her car to nudge her because she was ushering the kiddies across the road (at a crossing and lights red no less). This woman needs locked up.

Been in Cambridge many a time with a car when I still worked (Oxford too) but I stuck to the hotels outside the city and work was in the business parks. Never took a car into Cambridge itself.

That made me laugh. You can always get a ready supply in Nursery and P1 where infestations spread like wildfire.

My dear departed brother felt the same. His started with a laser treatment gone wrong. He nearly totally lost the sight in one eye. Thank goodness he only had one eye done. They had to admit him to the eye pavilion as he had to get injections into the eye every 30 mins for one week. Even had to wake him every 30 mins at night. He was exhausted by the time he got out. After that it was injections every 3 months but he said the same - you put up with it.

Breakfast : Slice of Burgen bread toasted with a generous helping of Brie cheese. Cup of Tea.

Lunch : Greek yoghourt, heavy cream and mixed berries. Cordial to drink.

Dinner will be : Pan fried salt and pepper chicken pieces in just a few onions and fresh ginger, with cauliflower rice fried with butter.

My wife adds it to rice to make a chocolate breakfast. She’s like that though.

Very rich it would seem.

Okay thanks. Another good tip. I didn’t know we could buy it in the UK.
@BibaBee. I just ordered some via Amazon. More a present for Mrs Listlad.

But oh dear, it is much cheaper on that link you gave than Amazon.

Maybe crossing people should be issued with cameras front and back to gather evidence. Never any need to be that impatient - plan your day, easy as.

Busy with holiday planning. Mr Last-Minute of course as we set of on 31st March. Ah well.

Dead hungry by 1100 so had an all day breakfast (less the beans, fried triangular rubbish, toast and those disgusting luke warm flavourless tomato halves that they encourage you to just chuck away). Anyhow. No, what’s the point- tinned tomatoes or something with flavour and roasted - good grief..... and on...and on.. and on.. gets my goat is all. Just like rubbish koffy made in one of those glass jugs, hanging around until it goes all bitter. Humbug.

Got to get on with dinner prep; Cod, pan fried in ghee with wilted pack Choi, roasted tomatoes and Zhug.
Recipe for Zhug here: https://www.copymethat.com/r/ypjHiWo/zhug-yemenite-hot-sauce-with-coriander-a/
Take care how many birds eye chilies you put in - I put in four and took the seeds out of two - also, don’t scratch your nose, eye or other body part when preparing this delightful sauce.

Bon thingy.

Loving your grumping style @dunelm
And yes, I have to agree with you on all counts, esp the triangular rubbish and the whats-the-point tomatoes.

Today:
B: none
L: had to take Mr B out to show him the glories of the garden centre breakfast omelette. He agreed with me on its wonderfulness, but opted for a 'sausage and bacon pie, with veg'. Now he is so sleepy I am going to have to kick him out of his doze so he can walk to work (in the driving rain) in 20 mins. Poor man. It was HUGE chunk of pie.
D: will be more DD chicken pesto olive thing.

How do you make the chia pudding? With milk? I use chia seeds quite a bit and make it with milk but wondered if there were other approaches. I suppose coconut milk would work?

I’ve used coconut milk and almond milk before, but I’m currently making it with Benecol yoghurt drink!
