What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

F0D66CA9-732B-47C3-A45A-FC90E4FF014B.jpeg Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cold jerk chicken with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: coffee chia pudding and black coffee.
Dinner: bolognese with courgetti and a sprinkling of mature cheddar followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

I made some orange flavoured chocolate a few months ago and it was very nice, but that was 85% and not 100%. Like you, I can't quite get a taste for the hard stuff!

I’ve amazed myself by learning to love the dark bitter chocolate. I used to be a CDM girl.
Today I was going to make some more lc Bounty bars and CCBs but realised My big bag of Callebaut 100% cocoa mass choc buttons was all but empty.
The bag, when full weighs 2.5kg and I only bought it in January. That’s a kilo a month I’m getting through!
(It may also explain why I’ve put on 2kg since Christmas, Ive been all pleased with myself thinking it was muscle but perhaps it’s not)

Evening all. Late post for me and an unorganised food day
B: peanut & sea salt bar with coffee
L: 2 spicy chicken skewers off Sainsburys hot counter with mayo and then yes, naughtily but felt like being a little rebellious after having my bloods done first thing but had 2 rows of montezumas Black Forest gateau chocolate
D: no meal as was swimming - not long walked in. So munching on babybel and peanuts. Actually so hungry so may have to find some more bits to snack on

It was a disorganized and not very good food day. What sleep deprivation will do to me.
Bfast usual 1/2 avocado, egg, DWC for melting 2 sq 90% choc with.
Pint of REALLY good new batch chix broth. I highly recommend spilling the smoked paprika in the pot!
Lunch mixed nuts way too many, with the almonds picked out
Supper OD’d on manchego cheese, celery, last of the mug bread with olive oil
Second supper after rehearsal ABWB to excess.
Tomorrow a better day!
Edit to add forgotten bread

DJC3, do your bathroom scales give you any data in excess of the straightforward weight? I have found my Omrons invaluable for the additional information. Some of it can be influenced by dehydration, just as body weight can, but I found them good for just having an idea where my body fat percentages and visceral fat scores sit.

Are you using your cauldron for all this broth that's going on? I must admit I love my pot for stock/broth

The IP, yes. Slow cook. The mass of frozen chicken parts turned out to have been three small backs, which I think is the tastiest. Just had another mugful!

How on earth is it possible for my BG levels to be at 12.7 this morning before breakfast? :wideyed::arghh: Only had tuna salad for dinner last nigh. Surely not yesterday's lunch-time chips?

I can honestly say I have never used the slow cook function on the IP. I just view pressure as a fast, slow cooker.

So far I’ve slow cooked more than pressure’d! There’s more leeway in when you start and stop. I am not using the IP as much as some but I love having it to use! I just don’t prepare family meals any more so large batch/interesting food cooking doesn’t happen all that often.

@Mongolia phase of moon? Pollen count? Brexit?

How long do you slow cook for the broth you make?

If you have something on pressure, and it comes to an end, it goes to keep warm, which is hot, provided the lid hasn't been off too often, so it can be left - exceptions being vegetables, rice and pasta dishes, but I'll often make, say a curry, chilli or casserole early afternoon and just ignore it until I'm ready, but I know it's ready have an hourafter I start if plans change.

I haven’t read through todays posts yet - I’ll get distracted if I do so going to post mine first-
B: 2 small boiled eggs with the last little bit of a Lidl roll I found in the freezer - toasted with butter and marmite. CWC
L: Started off being a salmon fillet and salad, but the salmon tasted very sweet - checked pack and it was ‘honey roasted’ who wants sweet fish? I ask you!
Chucked it and replaced with a small tin tuna.
Made some more of @shelley262 ‘s crispbreads so had a couple of those with it. 3 strawberries and cream after.
D: Wasn’t supposed to have any, don’t usually bother after yoga, but I’d made chicken soup for the girls and it smelled nice so had a small bowl.
Now to catch up on everyone else’s...
Honey roasted salmon - blgh! Nearly as bad as flavoured mustard.

I’m starting to realise that the effects of what I do ( food and exercise) will often show a day or two later. Makes it hard to think back and recall exactly what it was I did well or badly then, but I’m convinced it isn’t always an immediate effect. So, I would imagine those chips could possibly be the culprits.

I think most of them are rapeseed oil based. Don't buy the almond one...it was really bland and I suspect 99% rapeseed.

Edit to add that I've always found the Nielsen-Massey ones to be the best quality, but they are pricey. You get what you pay for.
I'm a Nielsen-Massey user too.

Flu type symptoms have segued in to tummy bug type AND flu like symptoms - which is an issue if you are sneezing and coughing a lot like I am at the moment. I just can't be bothered to eat so today will OMAD or, possibly, fasting (although Mr C doesn't like me fasting when I'm poorly - he believes in the old saying 'Feed a cold to starve a fever). Bit late for that.

So, today.....

Egg and probably some kind of tinned fish salad with mayo. If i can be bothered to boil the eggs. Or open the tin of fish.

All i really feel like eating is cheese - on its own.
Sorry you're still feeling awful. Is it not time to consult the Doc?

Got to agree. I thought I'd never like 100%. It was hard work but I can eat it now. Some are better than others though and Montezuma black forest and G&B mint are also favourites even although they're not 100%.

I can empathize. Mine have been do lally in the mornings lately. I thought I'd returned to normal the other day but no such luck! Yesterday and this morning I was back to the DP surge. 9.5 before it came down again today and yet it was 6.3 when I got up. Still haven't eaten but it drops back anyway.
