What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Firstly, thanks for the concern over my grandson @maglil55 @zauberflote and @gennepher. Secondly, a day with lots of listening to the PHC stream, watching videos by Phinney and Virta and reading around nutrition taught me that when 2 or more experts on diet/nutrition/diabetes are gathered together there will be 345 different opinions and nothing of practical use.
B was nothing really except TWAM but by about midday I had French vanilla coffee with a very little cream -think the cream can have the old Spanish archer. Lunch was @dunelm's flaxseed cracker with a little butter then 3 h/g eggs in h/m mayo with a tin of mackerel in EVO. Evening meal was salmon fillet, salad with lots of evo and chia seeds plus an avocado.

I like pigs trotters with a beer or two, not to sure about the chook feet though. I have seen them on asian cooking shows, I think they scald them to clean them up before cooking as far as I remember.

The chooks do like a good fossick through the backyard looking for stuff to eat.

Chicken feet are full of collagen, so used in broth making, they broduce fabulously gelatinous broth.

@zauberflote and

What is a mire hanger??? My garden is absolutely full at the moment - probably a bit more than full as I've got plants in the greenhouse that I haven't got any garden space for.

Typooo fumble fingers

I really look forward to trying those. I had no idea that was possible! Thanks Maglil55.

@zauberflote

I don’t know what spider you mean?

Huh. The "front page photo" view of this thread (and many other threads have photos too) that I see if I come to this thread from scratch rather than following the banner that takes me to the last place I was. Usually I see whatever the most recent pic (of food) that somebody has posted. Spidey showed up a few days ago when we were talking about them, and somebody made a comment about arachnophobia. It's been there ever since.
Is this an iApp (tapatalk) thing maybe? I am never on my computer here.

Ah.
I never see any pics like that.
They just appear in posts as i scroll through the thread.

Certainly editing them is not inside my mod permissions, so am sorry, but I can’t remove it.

However... as a suggestion, try posting new, pleasant pics into posts. The spider may be appearing because it is the last pic on the thread (or something). If you add nicer pictures, then they may turn up instead...?

We do not make broths at home here, last one I saw / smelt cooking was pre 1970's.

The last broth I cooked as a clear soup for Maultaschen (German ravioli) - I cooked the bones with carrot, onion etc for ages. Finally strained it, and threw it away. It smelt disgusting. I used an organic cube instead.
I’m not an enthusiastic Carnivore.

My meal today after an OMAD / Fast. Had no liquid during my fast.
  • Two Lindt 90% Dark Chocolate Squares (14g in the whole 100g bar)
  • 1 x Tesco Viennese Milk Chocolate Thin (5.2g carb)
  • 1 x Tesco Viennese Vanilla Thin (4g carb)
  • Dressings: Pepper, Fresh squeezed lemon and olive oil
  • Feta Cheese
  • Water
Relaxing now with a cup of tea

Oh @zauberflote has tried and still Peter Parker sits on his toilet roll looking at us.

Lunch yesterday: Toasted cheese and onion sandwiches.
Dinner: Dunno, I forget what we had. :***:
Breakfast: Cheese and mushroom omelette, bacon. tomatoes.

Drinks: Black coffee no sugar / sweeteners, plenty of water to stop from croakin'.

@Goonergal Is there a recipe for your chocolate almond squares? I looked on CMT but couldn’t find one.
I’m in mourning. Yesterday I found cheese scones, chocolate cake and banana walnut cake in the freezer. I love scones.

Hi. Yes, it’s very simple. Melt 100g chocolate (I use Lindt 90%) and 60g butter in the microwave. Stir in 60g almond butter. Add chopped nuts of your choice, pour into a lined mini baking tray, put in the fridge to set. Once set cut into small pieces and enjoy. Beware, they are extremely moreish.

Evening all. Not a good day on the food front.

The much billed PHC lunch yielded nothing suitable for me, so off to M&S to pick up some rollitos it was. However, one session aside the conference was very good.

Dinner with some fellow forumites at Jamie’s was also disappointing - over priced not very well cooked steak. At least they produced some cream which formed a dessert of sorts to go with the 85% chocolate that @Rachox brought along.

@Chook very jealous of your oxtail - Waitrose haven’t had it the last few times I’ve been in.

@Viv19 @maglil55 is right - the Nigella chocolate olive oil cake just needs a sweetener substitute for the sugar. I use a smaller quantity of sweetener too to reduce the sweetness. https://www.nigella.com/recipes/chocolate-olive-oil-cake

@Brunneria surely @Tipetoo s spider must break some forum rule
