The spike from rice is too large for my liking, maybe substitute lentils of any kind, far lower GI, and tolerated better by some people. Sorry about faulty meter glad you can get it replaced though. Also try an apple instead of an orange, oranges have a high level of glucose, the more sour the apple, the better effect but any apple, a small one would you would be better then an orange. But that's just my opinion again.Today :
breakfast egg and ham
Lunch : a string cheese , an orange
Dinner : a good amount of bbq with rice
Dessert : none ( since had rice )
I chanced my Dexcom G6 sensor yesterday evening and it has been faulty . It showed very low BG last night (35 = 2) so it made me to treat it too much and i only realized it was faulty after I kept treating it with no success ( stayed 40= 2.2 for hours). So I ate lots of sugar for no reason.
They are sending me a new one .
Each sensor is valid only for 10 days and costs 150$ . So a pack of 3 is 450$ ( supply for a month) , let alone you need a new transmitter every 3 months .
But it works very well . It has changed my life for better . Hopefully they make it cheaper and medical insurance will keep paying for it. They have a good customer service but I wish they could fix it remotely ! They can only send a replacement.
Edit : BG is going to roof due to rice. Let’s see ...
Edit 2 : BG went up to 156 = 8.8 then 2 hours later down to 115 = 6.3 .
It is after 10 full spoons of rice. What do you think ?

To be honest, as you have no idea what your actually reading wa s before eating your rice, it I impossible to tell how you handled it. Additionally, rice is well known for multiple rises, especially I find eaten with fattier food, so I'd be interested to know what your profile was like over say, 5 or 6 hours, but again, without knowing the beforehand number, it's not really easy to even speculate.
Of course, all of that means you need to try it all again
Apologies, I had read it as. Being broken before, hence eating to raise your sugars. My BG before rice was 85 = 4.7 . I have a GCM. So I always know.
Hi ifyou stick with the 100% absolut black either on its own or with orange oil and cocoa nibs or the almond absolut black and they are all 8g per 100g. But Im aware they are not for everyone!Love montezumas, but finding the nutrition panel on online supermarkets is impossible. Most of my shopping is done on line for various reasons, and none of them seem to display it. I've even been on the Montezuma site!
Good grief what is wrong with her. That is an excellent set of results and at the very least she should be pleased and praising you. I wonder how many diabetics under her care get an A1c of 35. Your body, your way! Please Accept hearty congrats and well done from me.Beautiful sunny but cold day here - just back from the DN for my annual review (and hypertension review) - it seems to me that you can't win no matter what you do!
HbA1c - 35
Cholesterol - 5.3
BP 126/80
She wants me on statins (my reply was 'not a chance') and we went over and over what I eat as she's worried that I will hypo at this level.Turns out I am now the ONLY diabetic at that (big) surgery who low carbs - she asked me what I thought that might be - so I said probably because of the lack of support by doctors and staff. (By this time I was getting a bit wound up.)
Oh, and I've shrunk half an inch since last year.Seriously, she asked me what I thought about that - I said I thought that either her or the person who measured me last year probably made a mistake. We sent through what I eat regularly and she virtually called me a liar on the Aldi black bean spaghetti stuff (said there is NO pasta/spaghetti product that low) so I've just emptied a packet of it and asked Mr C to drop the empty packet in to the surgery on his way to work for her attention!
Sorry to rant.... feel a bit better now....
Fabulous A1c so testament to your methods and hard work. Another one who magically shrinks between reviews - at least yours was only 1/2 inch. Feel like the naughty boy in the corner with the dunces A1c but so pleased for you.Beautiful sunny but cold day here - just back from the DN for my annual review (and hypertension review) - it seems to me that you can't win no matter what you do!
