What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Black coffee this morning
Lunch: salad with prawns, H/m chilli mayo and fried asparagus. DGF choc orange brownie ( definitely gives Jaffa cakes a run for their money @Rachox )
D: Will be roast duck, garlic cauliflower purée and spinach. Probably no pud but a few glasses of wine as it’s the weekly Zoom quiz this evening.

@Chook I’ve just noticed your melting Stilton on roast butternut squash - that sounds absolutely delicious.
Agree that sounds wonderful. I am too scared to do either butternut squash or Jersey Royals but no criticism only envy! In my previous life Jersey Royalsmade the most amazing Spanish Omelette. Sigh....

It was! Nice combination of sweet and cheesey salty. I really only needed the broccoli with it.

This is what Mr C had in place of the butternut squash - a 750g T bone steak!!! AND he ate all of it!! I thought @Goonergal and @Brunneria migh be interested in the size of the steaks we got in Scunthorpe. Those plates are the huge ones we use at Christmas. The steak was £6.99 per kilo.

Edited to try to add photo

i only had a couple with lots of melted butter and ate them on their own so I got the full flavour. Luckily I've not really had any problems with butternut squash unless I over do it. I have one ring of it about and inch and a quarter thick baked in its skin.

A Question for you. Opposite what was my in-laws house in Kings Langley NSW is a road called Joseph Banks Drive. Is that named after Sir Joseph Banks the botanist responsible for Kew Gardens and, I believe, was also on the HMS Endeavour at Botany Bay?

Bbed 5.8 FBG 6.4. I didn't have the mince and sprouts yesterday. I was still full after the aubergine parmigiana so I skipped the mince but did have the DGF lemon and blueberry!
@DJC3 & @Goonergal - thanks for the antibody info. I'll have a read about it and decide. I'm a cautious so and so. I might wait to see what PHE say about the first roll out next week. @Chook - that steak looked like a @Goonergal offering. @shelley262- I do my supermarket order exactly the same way, right down to the multiple households. So far it's working as I get a decent slot every 10 to 14 days. Another batch of online ordered plants arrived today so it kept Hubby amused despite the wind. They're all planted and watered in.
B. TAG and my 2 GF crackers with Philadelphia.
L. Another TAG and 2 DGF lemon and blueberry
D. The mince and sprouts I didn't have yesterday.

I made a decision not to do a butcher order and instead use up some freezer stuff so we have a few mystery days coming up. At least I have another Morrisons order booked for Wednesday so if I get fed up it's not too long to wait.
I'm still OK by the way. Glad you seem to have beaten it too @Annb.

I should say it was, he did his mum and dad proud by getting named on a lot of things.

Interesting article at wikipedia.

One of his well named pieces of flora a Australian Banksia.

Dinner was the left over sausages and gammon in the left over appley cream sauce on top of the only cooking I had to do - deep fried savoy cabbage.

Had to rush it a bit because No 2 son phoned and said he had arrived home from work to find the house in uproar as his wife had decided to do some sort of musical chairs, but with bedrooms. So now grandson, for some reason has the biggest bedroom in the house, which was son and DIL's, Em has his bedroom and parents are in what was Em's room and the smallest in the house. I had a spare wardrobe in the big cupboard we call "the tool shed" but it had lots of stuff in it. Son asked if they could have the wardrobe - this evening, so that some of the boxes in the living room can be emptied and put away over the weekend. So all hands on deck (well Neil and me) to get all the stuff out of the wardrobe quickly. Most of it is currently on my bed and on my bedroom floor - must get that sorted tonight or I'll have nowhere to sleep.

It was absolutely bucketing down when he came for the wardrobe so he and Neil carried it out to the car where it had to hang out of the back to get it home - only half a mile away, but I imagine it got pretty wet. Families - don't you just love them?

@maglil55 thank you and Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well and hope you get on top of it hugs to you

I am a bit behind as always hahs so need to catch up on everyone's posts.

Friday woke up early and decided to wait to eat when I come back from my GP I didnt realise my prescription for my pain medication had run out when I went to the chemist on Wednesday for other prescriptions refills. My pain meds prescription has to stay at the chemist and usually I notice on last box that nil repeats but didn't notice it so had to make a appointment for new prescription and was a bit anxious about going thinking she would not prescribe me them after last appointment with her but was surprised she didn't question as the prescription needs to be send away for repeat approval she gave me a prescription for two weeks and send of my repeat prescription away for approval. I mentioned to her about pain at night time and my insomnia but she was not interested in giving suggestions on sleeping. I've been listening to some relaxation meditation free from the Cure app when I try and sleep for pain relief at nighttime sometimes it helps other times I'm in too much pain and rubbing massaging pain creams to found relief then 2 or 3 hours later finally dose of to sleep.

Friday brunch scrambled eggs on 1 slice of sourdough toast black coffee

Dinner made baked sausages and vegetables with self saucing gravy. Very filling meal and didn't affect my BSL nor my ulcerative colitis so a win win.

Saturday bsl 5.2 Brunch Waffles bacon and scrambled eggs a bit of maple syrup black coffee

A few hours later I started feeling funny checked my BSL it was 3.1 so had half a pink lady apple. My BSL can be weird some days.

Bsl 5.6 Dinner had hot soppressa salami chopped up some cheese tomatoes pickles and olives to make a platter with a few salada buscuits. Still haven't made low carb biscuits yet mmmm

Sunday cold today don't feel like making anything so had some watermelon leftover soppressa salami and cheese on salada biscuits and a few olives.

Dinner making some vegetables soup using garlic turmeric chilli carrots celery tomatoes saffron and water its cooking away then decided to add about a 1/4 cup of green lentils to it so it should be ready in 40 minutes.

Stay safe and well everyone

Yum cacik haven't had that for years my mum used to make it all the time for us when growing up she made the cacik with yoghury and bot sure what else as she used to dry it in the sun then would make dehydrate it to make it for us in wintertime.

Morning All,

been a weird couple of days, so have fallen behind, and will try and catch up.

Bs: lc hot choc. Run out of bovril. Need more so I can keep up the collagen powder intake.
Ls: mainly Lidl protein noodles with either tuna or corned beef, plus grated cheese and cream. Very filling.
Ds: Jambalaya, Jambalaya, Jambalaya - simply can’t get enough of the stuff! It is like an addiction. Getting worried about running out (only 2 frozen portions left!) so going for steak tonight.

it was Mr B’s birthday yesterday. Fortunately his birthday presents (Betty’s coffee, DGF blondies and some keto porridge) ALL arrived in yesterday’s post. @10am yesterday. He came home from an early shift at 11am. Phew!

We had also planned a Carefully socially distanced park picnic with his mother and our 3 mutts, and her 1 dog.
No 3 was in an excited frenzy of bouncing at the prospect of uninhibited mayhem with a dynamo jack russell AND a picnic.

But MIL rang up at 15 mins notice to cancel because it was too windy.
???
I mean, yes there was a warm breeze, but her description of ‘gales’ was somewhat OTT.

so Mr B has taken the picnic to work today, and No 3 is a bit down, and stuck home today with a v BORING mum who has a BORINGLY gammy knee and no walk.

Good morning all!

I've just watched our resident blackbird and his lady friend systematically peck up all the different veggie seeds that Mr C sowed yesterday. I swear he was laughing at me when I tried to shoo him away. Mr C is not amused!

@Brunneria - it was very blowy here yesterday - not much better this morning.

Breakfast: usual Sunday morning brunch - chaffle, 2 fried eggs, mushrooms and 100g of baked beans
Lunch: usual Actimel drink
Dinner: usual Sunday stirfry - pak choi, bean sprouts, fennel, red pepper and some cashew nuts with some Nando's lemon sauce as a stir fry sauce
