Didn’t post yesterday as unplanned trip to the south coast to Mum’s house for a couple of nights as she fell down the stairs in the early hours. Pressed her panic button, ambulance arrived, she spent about 18 hours at the hospital under observation then she was discharged with no more than a bump on her forehead and a black eye. Amazingly nothing broken.
Anyway today’s food:
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee, yes I admit it, I took all the ingredients for the coconut ‘porridge’ :joyful:
Late morning: black coffee.
Lunch: a small packet of Cheesies, a few almonds and an Atkins double chocolate bar.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and Fibre One caramel protein bar.
Dinner: spaghetti bolognese on top of grated cheese with more grated cheese on top (!) followed by SF strawberry jelly, chocolate chia pudding and LC chocolate and raspberry granola.

sorry to hear your going through this what shocking news good luck on Tuesday @Riva_Roxaban do take care
Thank you.
@Riva_Roxaban sorry to hear your news and wishing you all the very best for next week.
Thank you.
That's horrible news @Riva_Roxaban. Luckily for me, when the surgeon found malignant polyps in my bowel, he just cut them straight out. Then the same with the second lot he found a couple of years later, but they turned out to be pre-malignant anyway. Is it the position your polyp is in that makes it difficult to deal with, or the size. 50 mm sounds to be a lot bigger than mine were (about 5 & 10 mm each). I do hope and pray that all goes well and that your hospital can deal with this soon and ease your mind.

Edited to correct polyp size.
Both the size and position, as I cannot have a general anaesthetic to operate on it.
Thank you.
Good luck for Tuesday, what a horrible shock for you. Keeping everything crossed it can be treated quickly and easily.
Winner for your sense of humour coming through at the end!
Thank you, you have to have a seance of humour to keep going.
@Riva_Roxaban- horrible news. Glad to see they are getting a move on. It's so important in these cases. Stay positive. xx
Thank you.
@Riva_Roxaban what horrible news. Sending positive thoughts your way.
Thank you.

Glad to hear that your Mum wasn't badly hurt. Falling down the stairs must be very frightening. Just as well she has a panic button.

11:30 2 small pieces of lc soda bread, spread with cream cheese and topped with ham and olives. A little rhubarb with creamy ff greek. A ketonut.
Mid afternoon. Went for 20g of Godiva chocolate but ended up eating the whole 100g.
!! Something in it doesn't taste like normal 90% chocolate and when I read the label the second ingredient is fructose!!!!
My family think they made my birthday nice by buying Godiva 90% and 2 lots of lc cakes, but all I'm doing is eating them all as snacks, whether i need them or not and overriding my common sense and my fear of diabetes complications.
How do I tell them nicely not to do it again?

D: a small bit of very green fritata (courgettes and spring greens predominated)

Also did 3 lots of exercise today as classes returning to halls did not coordinate with each other, and my diary!.

@Riva_Roxaban , not ignoring your predicament- just don't know what to say except wishing you well

It’s difficult, but I think all you can do is explain why you’d rather not have the ‘treats’. I don’t know whether it’s the same for you, but I’ve people I’ve decided to stop eating dark chocolate (I have)! For those who might be interested I’m happy to explain why (addiction, triggering over eating of not just the ‘treat’, but other things), but most don’t need to know why, just that I don’t eat it.

Breakfast: spinach and cottage cheese omelette. Early because I had to go to town with Neil.
Snack about 12.30: a small banana.
Dinner will be: lamb chops and maybe some mange toutes peas (if I can be bothered).

No 2 son assures me that there is a new fresh fish shop in Stornoway but Neil and I hunted for it this morning and couldn't find it so I'll be back to the plastic wrapped stuff for my next fish meal. I don't eat enough fish but I do dislike the rubbish (less than fresh) plastic wrapped fish we get in the supermarket.

Spicy mexican sausages, cheese omelette, tomatoes for breakfast.
Banana prawns in a low carb wrap for lunch.
Pork loin chops, green veggies gravy for dinner, also a spoonfull of passion fruit sorbet that had my name on it.

A better day yesterday, my nurse navigator from the base hospital came and had a chat with me to discuss my options before Tuesday. She has smoothed the path between public and the private health system, also she is good at expediting the system that are otherwise closed to the patient this past year. :)

@Rachox I’m glad your mum wasn’t too badly hurt, what a shock for her and you though.
@Riva_Roxaban I’m so glad you are getting good support, knowing you will not be left to cope entirely on your own makes a big difference, and having the information explained to you clearly is a huge help.
Today I had 1/2 portion of leftover DD pizza omelette fir breakfast/brunch.
A few Brazil nuts at some point during the day.
Dinner was DD Tex Mex casserole and @Goonergal ‘s ‘lazy mousse’ to follow. I stupidly bought a jar of almond butter the other day. Why? Why? I can’t be trusted around it.

Thanks you, I have been lucky to have this nurse navigator, as she has had my back for the past year since I was in hospital last June. She also keeps me on the straight and narrow when it comes to diet both fluid intake and carbs.:D

Breakfast: bacon and the 3 remaining pullets' eggs.
2nd meal: mixed green beans, mange toutes, frozen peas, onion and lettuce, stir fried and then finished in veg stock. Too much to eat, so some left for tomorrow.

Thursday bed 6.3 FBG 6.4
B. TAG and 2 slices SLC toast with Dairylea.
L. Nothing
D. I'd made chicken curry for Hubby and the boys and the curry sauce was rather nice so, although I was having a burger with apple wood smoked, it became a burger with cheese an curry sauce! No bun but I did have veggie chips. A few cherries.

Friday bed 6.6 FBG 6.7

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with liver sausage and coleslaw.
L. Nothing
D. An Iceland wild shrimp with chilli and tomato and I added cauli rice, 2 mushrooms and more chopped tomatoes. More cherries.

The spelling continues. He's got right into it now and he's taking on some tricky words. Even better he's been proudly demonstrating his new words to the teachers in the mornings. You can't beat the old methods of repetition to learn to spell.

@Rachox - glad to read your Mum wasn't too badly injured and is safely home again. It would have been quite a scare though.

@DJC3 - Glad to see you're feeling better too.

Today Saturday - bed 6.4 FBG 7.3. Still up early. Boys jujitsu day. Still, I get a quiet hour in the car to do the crossword while Mum/Dad go in with them. Also had the refrigeration engineer in this morning. He has declared the compressor fine and it doesn't need re-gased but, he's not convinced the correct PCB is in it! So he'll be back on Wednesday with another part! Freezer is like a blast chiller now. Everything is so frozen you could injure yourself if something fell on you!
B. TAG no time for anything else.
L. SLC sandwich with roast beef, mustard and tomato.
D. Slice of SLC toast with coronation chicken late afternoon. Dinner later was zoodles carbonara. A bar of that Lild raspberry chocolate (the little bars).
It's been a lovely day here for a change too.
