What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a Carb Killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a Food Dr bar
Dinner: salmon and cream cheese sandwiches with coleslaw followed by SF raspberry jelly and cream.
Did a stock take of foods which are high oxalate which I have to give up, a nearly full jar of dark chocolate almonds and a big bag of plain almonds, hubby has taken them, but he won’t consider chia seeds! Unfortunately I have a new 1 kilo bag and two smaller packets. Not the kind of food the food bank would take but I’ll ask them to be sure.

If no one wants the chia seeds, you can always give them to the birds as extra winter food for them to eat when times are hard for them.

Two slices of middle bacon, two egg and cheese omelette, mushrooms for breakfast.
Cheese and onion ina low carb wrap, lemon cordial brew for smoko.
T bone steak and veggies, gravy, low sugar pineapple jelly for lunch.
Kimchi flavoured mashed boiled egg wrap, going to ease off on the kimchi next time, for supper at six.

Similar legend here in Cornwall - on Michaelmas day the devil was thrown out and peed on the blackberries so children are warned not to eat them after that date.
Ewwww!

Got a lot of catching up to do. Can't recall if I mentioned DIL'S parents are here from the States. First time they've seen each other in over 2 years. I've had a bit more running about to do. It's nice as, despite the continuing restrictions up here, they are having a long stay so it gives them plenty time to things.

Thurs 11 November bed 6.6 FBG 6.9

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast and salmon mousse.
L More of that coconut gut milk! (And a DGF cookie - choc chip)
D. On the jujitsu run. Once I got back, just had a sandwich with mini German sausage and coleslaw followed by a DGF vegan brownie (warmed in the microwave), last of the blackberries (laughed at the tales of the devil and bodily functions) and a spoonful of Sainsbury's thick brandy cream.

Friday 12 November bed & FBG both 7.6

B. TAG and an M&S cracker with whipped cheese.

L still on the coconut milk.

D. Courgetti carbonara and another DGF lemon cookie this time.

Saturday 13 November - bed 6.8 FBG 7 5

B. Just TAG (Up early to take boys to jujitsu)

L. Nothing off to butcher's and I had a delivery coming from Sainsbury's.

D. Was watching the boys as everyone was away to see son's band playing so not a lot as it was too early. Slice of ox tongue, roast pork and 6 of the mini German sausage. About a 1/4 of avocado by the time I trimmed it and a couple of M&S crackers. Took 1/2 a bottle of that coconut milk with me to drink.

Sunday 14 November - bed 6.8 FBG 7 1

Swimming lesson day but before I left I got a steak, ale, kidney and mushroom casserole ready to be slow cooked in the oven later.

B TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with ox tongue and coleslaw.

L. Nothing

D. The said slow cooked steak, kidney, ale etc with one of my cauliflower souffle things, peas and spinach. Usual campari and soda. DGF gingerbread with raspberries and a spoonful of brandy cream

Finally decided on a new dishwasher yesterday. Went to Curry's as normal and surprisingly the young lad serving me actually said he probably shouldn't say but the one I'd selected was £70 cheaper in John Lewis. Guess where I ordered it from? Good customer relations though.

Three meals today - trying to get more nutrition over next few days as another dental procedure booked on Monday - so may be less food for a few days afterwards!
Breakfast two boiled eggs with half a lc roll
Lunch other half low carb roll with cheese, a few baby tomatoes and nuts followed by yoghurt and two squares of 90% chocolate
Mid pm DGF brownie with mug of black tea
Dinner chicken curry with Corriander salsa and glass of gin with soda water followed by DGF brownie warmed served with double cream,

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and an Atkins bar.
Dinner out tonight: ‘gourmet burger’, egg, bacon, cheese, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, no bun, but I did have one onion ring and half a dozen French fries with a side of cabbage and bacon. I asked for mayo and left the bbq sauce.

Breakfast: was to have been scrambled egg on wholemeal toast, but the bread smelled and tasted of mould so I dumped it. Made an attempt at some pancakes but kept on forgetting them and ended up with a pile of burned pancakes. Threw them out as well. So, just scrambled eggs.

Don't know why but my BG went up to 18.8! It also rose to 19.5 last night. I took a correction dose for that and ended up being woken at 3.15 out of the first deep sleep I've had in weeks by my Libre warning that my BG was 3.9. Got up then and had a cup of tea and by the time I went back to bed (about 5 am) it had risen to 4.8.

Anyway, I had some braised lamb out of the freezer for my 2nd meal and I'm waiting to see what happens with BG after that.

Actually got a delivery from Tesco this evening. Almost everything I asked for (minus brussels sprouts and tomato ketchup) and no substitutions. Should keep me going for a while (and Em - bought quite a few good quality ice creams for her - one only when she visits although she would scoff the lot in one go!)

Two hard boiled eggs, two slices of cheese on low carb toast for breakfast.
Nothing caught my attention when I looked in the fridge so just lemon cordial mix for smoko.
Australian salmon fillets done in the griller, mixed salad, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red and green capsicum, sliced fresh mushrooms, hard boiled eggs for lunch.
Leftover salad in a low carb wrap, low carb protein bar for supper at six.

This thread has gone spooky quite again, so will back out of the thread door very slowly...

Wine o'clock time now ...

Monday 15 November - bed 8.9 FBG 7.9 - No idea why.

B. TAG and a slice of SLC toast with coronation chicken.

L. More of that coconut milk.

D. Finished off the remains of yesterday's steak & ale with spinach and broccoli. It was really tasty. A DGF cookie later.

Tuesday 16 November - bed 8.9 FBG 9 still no logic for this.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with coronation chicken.

L. Nothing

D. Has prawns & smoked salmon needing eaten between today and tomorrow so a salad of prawns, smoked salmon, salmon mousse, lettuce , tomatoes, 1/2 avocado and mozzarella pearls.

Wednesday 17 November - bed 7.7 FBG 7 6.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with egg mayo.

L. Nothing

D. Another salad- poached salmon, prawns, lettuce, avocado , tomatoes, mozzarella pearls.

Thursday 18 November bed 7.1 FBG 7.3. Seems to be getting back to more normal levels. A really busy day as I had the boys to feed after school (visitors all away today), then pick everyone up at the station complete with a misbehaving younger grandson that I threatened to leave at the Salvation Army if he didn't behave. On top of that dishwasher arrives tomorrow and Hubby already has the contents of 2 cupboards all over the place!

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with coronation chicken.

L. Nothing.

D. Some tuna and sweetcorn with the remains of the smoked salmon and M&S crackers. After I'd restored order and boxed the contents of the cupboards, swept and steamed the floor where hubby had removed the old dishwasher (which was now on a Lidl trolley in the middle of the dining area) I had a DGF choc chip cookie.

Yoga then library.
L: 2 slices hm lc soda bread with some pate and very ripe Camembert. This is the 3rd Camembert lately from Lidl. 98p I think and each has been perfectly ripe and tasty.
A bit of ffg greek with red and blackcurrants

Then popped out to a local WI fair, a bit crowded so didn't stay long, only long enough for hubby to have coffee and a slice of proper cake. It was a Chai Tea sponge. I had 2 bites and very tasty, nice spicy but not overpowering. Will have to see if I can find a recipe or recreate it.
Stopped at the Italian deli on the way home to pick up a panettone for Xmas for the boys as won't be making a proper cake this year so they can make do with this - except as hubby was with me, we ended up buying 2 as he decided he wanted to try 2 different flavours ! Somehow he also bought 2 pastries
Our final stop was the Xmas event at another local antiques shop. I came out empty handed but he came out with a mince pie in hand...yes that was 3 cakes in less than an hour, and 2 for the store cupboard. Do you think he's been feeling deprived?

D: I had a fathead dough pizza. Boys had shop bought pizza with chips and salad.

Didn't want to open a bottle of wine so had a brandy. Well it is Saturday

Breakfast was egg and bacon
Had a Kvarg peach and passion fruit yoghurt alternative.

Lunch was 1 slice multiseeded bread, can of tuna in brine, tbs of mayo and some onion
Cherry tomatoes
Had a bag of crisps from a multipack

Dinner tonight is soup at the moment but not sure totally yet.

Diagnosed two days ago so still getting to grips with things.
Had 36g of carbs so far.
Aiming to keep it under 150g a day but it's settling in around 100 so far.

Welcome back, and welcome on the thread!
Sounds like a good start
Make sure you eat enough to not feel hungry, it's much easier to make sensible choices when you're not craving food.

I tried the Heck chicken sausages. They were not only not particularly pleasant - they were distinctly UNpleasant. I cooked the whole pack to extend their life. What a waste of time and energy! I'll put them in a bag for No 2 son to take for the dogs when he comes tomorrow. In the end, my 2nd meal was cabbage. Won't do me any harm, I suppose.
