Your comments led me to a Google search on clove tea…interesting and very easy to incorporate into my regular teas. Looks worth a try anyway especially as I have a jar of the little things sitting on the shelf, leftover from Christmas mulled wine. Thank you.View attachment 53203
Lunch one slice of Hilo low carb bread toasted topped with three eggs scrambled in butter followed by yoghurt with a few raspberries
Dinner wild salmon baked with lemon butter - photo before made my foil parcel and put in oven - served with cauliflower mash and some beetroot kimchi with glass of dry white wine.pudding lc chocolate brownie warmed and served with spoon of yoghurt.
Rest of day was drinking green clove tea as recommended by the new book supergut by dr w Davis which arrived today. I normally associate cloves with Christmas bread sauce and/or cough sweets - all in my past of course!- but really enjoyed the tea so will carry on. By the way @Rachox I was reading in my new book about different gut bacteria you can introduce and thought of you when read about lactobacillus Gasseri which, according to Dr Davis, can reduce urinary levels of oxalate so can help reduce likelihood of kidney stones - so thought of you!
I’ve also got inspired to start making my own yoghurt with certain strains of friendly live bacteria that I feel will be helpful to me based on the new supergut book. I do like my Fage yoghurt but fancy a go at doing my own.will probably be later next week before I get all stuff I need - but watch this space! I’ve also found a recipe for fermented roast peppers so that’s on my list for later in the week!
I got some in Tescos the other day. Ate the lot on the way home. You have been warned!oooo, @RosemaryJackson . Can I ask where the chocolate is from?
Gather when you make yoghurt you can use inulin to provide the fibre to encourage the bacteria to grow - some traditional methods use sugar of course! Will see how his recipe goes and share if works well.Dr Robert Lustig goes on about the microbiome in his Metabolical book, needs fibre to grow apparently. I'll be trying soem of those teas and things too @shelley262 , keep the advice coming

I read a couple of days ago that to check on the ripeness before you buy it you remove the little nub at one end and check the colour underneath it. If it’s nice and green it’s ripe.Very true, I’d almost given up buying them, I had to throw so many out. Then just when you give up hope you get a perfect one and all is forgiven!
What flavour soup? Some additions might make it betterMade a large pan of soup today.
Didn't like it.
I did eat a little over half a bowl, but I'm afraid the rest of the soup will not be eaten, what a waste.

Hiya My understanding is that having fat with carbs seems to increase the time From eating that your sugar spike happens. So for example if you had a traditional pizza it would take 3 or even more hours before you saw the impact of thecarbs. The fat itself dosent raise your blood glucose levels.Hello. The chocolate is Green and Blacks Velvet Edition from Tesco.
Morning bg 6.5. Bf FF Greek Yoghurt with blueberries and a bit of cream; L. Tuna mayo in lettuce; Dinner. Breast of Lamb. Something puzzles me. What does having fat with carbs do? TIA
That menagerie of yours should clean that pot of soup up for you, so not really a waste.I did eat a little over half a bowl, but I'm afraid the rest of the soup will not be eaten, what a waste.
Leek, some other veggies, a stock cube, some vegetarian shawarma, cheese, things like that. Should be tasty but wasn't.What flavour soup? Some additions might make it better

Completely forgot to tell you, I went to the DIY store this morning to ask for advice on installing the dishwasher, hoping I could buy the necessary parts in case I could persuade neighbour-in-the-garden to install it this weekend. The dishwasher is still a dummy for size at this point, as it isn't yet attached to either water or drain, and I have no idea if it works. I'll have to get neighbour-in-my-garden to install a new tap. A fairly easy job, as my washing machine is right at the other side of the wall. But as I don't expect it will be a paid job, I'll have to wait until he finds the time, which won't be for at least a week.
They did eat about half of the leftovers in my bowl but weren't very enthousiastic. I'm afraid they won't be willing to finish the whole pot, they're only very small dogs and it's a large pot. That menagerie of yours should clean that pot of soup up for you, so not really a waste.
If you put the @ symbol then the username it brings up a list and then tags the person @RosemaryJacksonThanks Shelley262, I'm gradually learning!!! Mrs A2, I couldn't taste them either, but at least it was crunchy! I also bought the salted caramel and I really like that
They're probably eaten to many of your Contour test strips, I though I recognised the box.they're only very small dogs and it's a large pot.
I buy them frozen. It solved the problem of trying to ascertain optimum time to eat them.Very true, I’d almost given up buying them, I had to throw so many out. Then just when you give up hope you get a perfect one and all is forgiven!
