What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B: 2 rashers bacon, 2 scrambled egg
A longer, more strenuous than expected dog walk
Luckily there was a cafe near the end so had a reviving cup of tea and an ice cream.
In all we walked and scrambled down, up, down, up etc for 4 hours
D: 2 bratwurst with courgettes and mushrooms in tomato sauce with some fathead bread on the side. Yogurt with raspberries and dark chocolate. Glass white wine.

When we had it last had it, we both had a very annoying tickle in the right side of our throats. It continually sparked off coughing at night and was difficult to stop. I found iced water helped.

My go to meal when I have no idea what to cook. Burger with fried onions on an endive based salad.
Tastes good every time, and quick and easy too.

Was hovering in the low 4's (finally, after waking up close to 8 and multiple corrections aka rage boluses) with some active insulin in my system when I wanted to cook, so I had some strawberries while cooking to prevent dropping further.
Nothing wrong with having dessert for a starter, and it worked out well: rose to 6 after the meal and dropped again to a nice 5.4 without additional insulin.

Three egg, cheese, and some leftover sliced up currired sausage mixed up in a microwave container and nuked for five minutes and wrapped lin low carb wraps for breakfast.
No smoko.
Grilled rump steak, onionsand tomatoes for lunch.
Pea and ham soup (mre), some slices of garlic bread for supper at six.

Glass of Stones ginger wine, that my partner got from someone.

Very late posting today. Had a slice of 50/50 bread toasted for bf (16g carbs), 2 chilli bratwurst sausages with tablespoon of tomato ketchup. Tonight had egg mayo on 2 slices of ham and lettuce. Except for bread, haven't done too badly (says she hopefully!)

I didn't have the salmon or cauliflower. Just too exhausted. So no 2nd meal today at all. Plenty to drink though.

The dentist did, as I suspected, just plaster over the sharp edges of my tooth and left a decision on what to do about it until I can get a further appointment in September sometime. The choice is to get some root canal work done and a cap or just to take it out and forget about it. The dentist seemed to think the root canal and cap would be a good idea but admitted that it might not last very well, especially in my gums which seem to suffer frequent bouts of inflammation and infection. I think it can just come out. She did spend time fitting my new dental plate - this being the 4th appointment for making the new one. It seemed to fit at the time, but by the time I got home my whole upper jaw was sore where sharp bits had dug in, so I'll have a go at filing it down myself tomorrow.

Finally - about 3.30 pm I had my salmon and cauliflower meal. Felt quite full straight away, but feeling a bit empty now so I've just taken some frozen strawberries and whipped cream out of the freezer and will have some of that when it defrosts sufficiently.

Managing to get around a bit today - supported by pain killers, but managing all the same. Even managed to put some washing in the washing machine - twice! I would have run out of clean clothes to put on if I'd left it any longer.

Em is in Uist today with her mum, delivering the last of the pups to its new home. She phoned to tell me that she had just had scallops for the first time ever, and she loved them. Not the coral, but the white flesh. Sophisticated (and expensive) tastes our Em.

Been AWOL with stomach upset on Sunday night/Monday and recovery yesterday, so food was not top priority. Eased myself back in with Fage 5% and air fried chicken drumsticks initially before reverting to type with a bunless Shake Shack cheeseburger for dinner last night. Libre confirmed that plain Greek yoghurt does indeed raise my BG beyond acceptable levels.

Today has been another OMAD day. Lidl Picanha, 2 fried eggs and some smoked streaky bacon.

@Goonergal - glad normal service has been restored to you! @Annb - Em will be onto lobster next!

Tuesday 26 July - bed 7 2 FBG 7 4

The little voices didn't start until well after 7am. In fact, Hubby was first up. My breakfast followed after cooking scrambled egg and bacon and a bacon butty for the younger one.

B. 2 slices of SLC toast with 3 rashers of streaky bacon and a scrambled egg. TAG of course.

L. Nothing- made the journey to the station to collect son and DIL and it took 1.5 hrs to get back as there was a Land Rover on its roof on the bypass - utter chaos on every road home!

D. Left over cold cuts - ox tongue, 1/2 slice ham, roast beef, pork & egg, small bit smoked chicken with coronation sauce. Santini tomatoes, walnuts and port salut. 4 strawberries with a spoonful of Skyr.

Wednesday 27 July - bed 6 5 FBG 6.8

Hubby decided a visit to Dobbies and Lake Lakeland was necessary (and I thought I was the one who kept seeing things we "needed" in Lakeland.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with ox tongue and coleslaw.

L. On said trip with Hubby and collected DIL, grandson and largest dog from dog groomer on return to take them home.

D. Decided on a SLC pizza with tomato, mortadella, cheese and Italian herbs. 3 strawberries.

More bedding plants installed as the numerous summer bulbs are raking a while to flower.

Fage yogurt for breakfast, black coffee
Lunch was salmon, pumpkin seeds, stilton , mayonnaise, (a weird combination, but felt like grazing) black coffee
Dinner, crustless quiche, sugar free tonic water.
Supper small glass of coconut milk

B: small yog with seeds and 1 large strawberry
Dog walk to try to get rid of their energy before going to agricultural show
L: 2 hard boiled eggs and a bit of cheese I'd taken with me. Hubby had a cornish pasty then a big cookie thing. I resisted icecream!
D: 1 cold bratwurst and a bit of salad. 1 glass white with a lot of water. A few sqs of %70 chocolate

Bacon, two egg and cheese omelette, mushrooms for breakfast.
Chicken pie without the lid for smoko.
Savoury liver and bacon, onion and toamto and sliced up spudlites for lunch.
Hogget fore quarter chops, green veggies with minty sauce, gravy for supper at six.

Glass of Stones finest before a early night by all.

Hello. Had a real bad carb day yesterday so readings were a bit high. Serves me right ! But every now and then I have a binge day and don't know how to talk myself out of it. Today will be better tho. Got a lump of cooked belly pork with crackling to die for!! Every Thursday at the local butcher's. Very popular. So hopefully teatime will be tuna mayo on lettuce leaves.

Just had my OMAD (hopefully) of ham with some tomato bits and some radishes. I was going to have some cucumber as well but it had gone off in the fridge - kept it too long while I couldn't get to the back porch fridge. Finished with some of the strawberry cream I took out of the freezer yesterday.

On my feet off and on today but sleepy due to all the pain killers I've had to take. It's slowing me down a bit but better than not being able to move at all. BG was in the 13's but dropped away to 4.0 about an hour ago. That's why I had some food at that point.

Yesterdays meal. I filled the peppers with a loose interpretation (read: didn't bother to look up the recipe so just threw in what I thought I remembered in random amounts) of tuna melt muffin batter with lots of onion added. Parmesan on top.
The last of the strawberries with Greek yoghurt for dessert.
Was going to post yesterday evening, but I got an unexpected visit from a friend in need of a vent and a drink. She only left at 4:30 AM and considering the amount of alcohol consumed I didn't think it wise to try to post at that time.

Today was going to be a burger and one filled bell pepper because I had enough batter left for another. But plans have changed because I stupidly left the batter on the countertop and all my cat has left for me are some onion and some chilli pepper, he must have had a wonderful night!
A mixture of tuna, cheese, creme fraiche, mayonnaise, sundried tomatoes and egg must be the tastiest cat food ever invented, even if he didn't like the onion and chilli peppers much!

On a roll with OMAD at the moment. Eating only meat and eggs is just so much more satiating than when ‘extras’ are added. And most satiating of the lot is lamb. This was a slow cooked breast. Yum!

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Dinner: crispy cheese and mushroom omelette followed by SF blackcurrant jelly and cream.

B; hm yoghurt, batch 2. Different starter and this one us much thicker and nicer tasting than my first try, but I did have some of both as can't waste food. Added seeds and 4 frozen raspberries
L 2 hard boiled eggs and a bit if cheese, and a small tub of ice cream while out in another dog walk.
D: posh pub. 3 scallops to start. Had their signature seafood pancake. The pancake was thin and the filling rich, cheesy and creamy. So satisfying not even tempted by dessert or cheese board. 2 glasses wine and soda, but forgot pub measures are bigger than mine at home, so did slur my words for a while.
Even better bg 2 hours after finishing 5.2 yay!
