What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thursday 28 July - bed 7 6 FBG 7.7

Busy day. Gardeners down so a mad dash to make them bacon rolls before heading off to Aqua.

B. TAG and a bit crustless quiche.

L. A Aquafit, had a swim after then collected the boys for tge afternoon. They were there for dinner too.

D. Once boys were returned we had Thai. - Red prawn curry, with 1 mini veg spring roll and bits of broccoli, mushroom and mini corn.

Friday 29 July - bed 7.8 FBG 7 4

B. TAG and a bit crustless quiche then off to the garden centre to get more plants for the gaps in the garden.

L. Nothing

D. Bit of a mish mash. A bit of crustless quiche, 2 slices of SLC toast with pate and a scallop and prawn gratin. Weird but I liked it. 4 strawberries and a tablespoon of Skyr.

@Annb - Square or round with the Lorne sausage. It always causes huge discussion here whether square or round is the right way to go.

Square is the way I've always had it. Never actually seen it round and called Lorne. I have seen a round sliced pork sausage but our supermarkets don't have it. I did, after all have the stovies. Couldn't resist and was feeling very hungry anyway. BG dropped away after having it, so the extra meal didn't do any harm. Butternut squash instead of potato makes a very good pot of stovies.

I used the eggs and the smoked fish stuff in a salad of endive, tomato and onion, and tomorrow I'll do some experimenting to find out if creamy runner bean soup is any good/ :)

You could make a mixed green soup with the beans, some frozen peas, some salad onion or a small white onion, or even a leek and add some lettuce or endive. In a chicken or veg stock with some cream, it should make a nice soup.

That's about what I had in mind. :)
Overcooked veggies tend to do well in soups. I'll post the result tomorrow!

Glad the Aqua has helped settle your BG @maglil55 I go ‘swimming’ in the sea quite often, except it’s not really swimming - I just bob about a bit, so although it’s good for my mind I don’t think it’s doing much to my muscles.
Today’s food:
B- 2 eggs and a toasted SLC roll with butter and marmite.
L- roast beef salad. Choc chia pud.
D- roast chicken portions. Dijon mustard, grated cheddar and smoked deli ham pushed under the skin before cooking. Cauliflower florets cooked around the chicken to soak up the cheesy, chickeny juices. 2 glasses dry white wine.

Morning all. Very wet day here, it always seems to rain for the Heckington Show. Such a shame, they work so hard to make it a success. Yesterday started off real well and descended into an eat anything day. Hopefully, no definitely, better today. I have chicken thighs which will be slow cooked, with sprouts, broccoli and cauli with a couple of miniature new potatoes. Whatever I don't eat for lunch will be finished off tomorrow (no Pensioner's lunch). A non carb tea is planned too. Wish me luck! And have a good Sunday everyone

Hello All
Yesterday and today usual Brekkie slice of LC toast and lots of tea.
Lunch yesterday was 2 turkey breast slices from M&S (the only place worth buying imo) spoon cheesey coleslaw 2 cherry toms and chopped cucumber followed by cup of tea and DGF chocolate orange brownie.
Supper was Chicken Shaslik (courtesy of Waitrose) and 3 tiny onion bhajees from their Indian snack selection, the rest snaffled with gratitude by Mr PM. A couple of long cold Gordons White Peach gin with lors of ice & fizzy water.
Today going to see eldest son’s new house and probs some leftover bbq meat from his gathering yesterday and maybe a bit of salad.
Supper will be Chicken & mixed pepper fajitas with soured cream, salsa and guacamole, wraps for Mr PM, probably will prep before and cook after the Womens Euros. I might do a bit of salad on the side for mine.
PS @Antje77 sorry about the scary hypo but glad you were able to do something with the overcooked food.

Em had a sleepover last night and for her breakfast she wants to make her own Philly cheese sandwiches, so I can have what I want - that will be the remainder of the stovies. Not much left to be honest, but it will do. Not enough for a single meal today so later I will do a chicken and veg traybake using chicken thighs that Neil bought for me and the remainder of the butternut squash and whatever other veg I can find around the place. Should be enough there to last a day or so, unless I get very greedy that is.

Out gallivanting yesterday so more than one meal. Lunch was at Wingstop. 12 wings with lemon pepper seasoning. Followed up with a 35g bar of Green and Blacks 70% choc.

Dinner was at a BBQ. Burger, sausage (which was too carby), chicken. Chicken had been marinated and tasted a bit sweet, but didn’t seem to do any damage to BG. Burger was delicious!

Today was beef cooked slowly using the rotisserie function in the air fryer. Very tasty and very tender. Yum!

11:30 1 cold 95% sausage and some of the very nice local cheeses with 3 M and s seedy crackers.
Nice, dogless meander through town with a stop at M and S to pick up more crackers. These seem easier to find in stock now. Somehow some fresh cream éclairs fell into my basket too.
2:30 2 eclairs with a cup of tea
Guilt dog walk. Made it a hilly one to wear off the éclairs
Dinner, after the footy, will be steaks with pan-fried cabbage

It's 8 pm. Em stayed until 4.30 and kept me going all day - as much as I was able. She got up at 8.30 and made her breakfast of Philly cheese on white bread and then asked for bacon. 6 rashers (crispy fried streaky) later, she felt that she'd had enough. She made herself a jug of lemonade with fresh lemons and some icing sugar (easier to dissolve) which she seemed to enjoy, even though it must have been pretty sour. She tried a couple of experiments with food mid afternoon - 1 : a white bread sandwich with several thin slices of ham and Lotus Biscoff spread (I found it in the compost bin later) and 2: chocolate chip pancakes, topped with crushed ready salted crisps. She loved them, but she took them home to mum, who really didn't.

After all that I was exhausted, but got going to prep my chicken and veg traybake but I had to keep stopping to rest and ran out of time before my weekly phone call to my brother. I've just finished it and put it in the oven. Should be ready in about 3/4 hour. Late, but I'll have to eat something before going to bed. While I was at it, I chopped up some more bits and pieces and have put them all in a pot to make soup - mainly because I had half a small cauliflower and all the greens from the whole cauliflower left. So it's in a pot with a chunk of iceberg lettuce that I found in the bottom of the fridge, plus a carrot, some celery and a bag of rocket leaves which needed to be used. I'll churn it up tomorrow and add some peas and some cream. Should be OK.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a PE bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and Phd bar.
Tea at ILs: cold meat, cheese and salad buffet followed by one Jaffa cake!

Not much on the menu over the week end, mostly fruit and other high carb stuff on Saturday.

Sunday menu was:
Bacon and two egg and cheese omeelette, for breakfast
Smoko was a loss.
Lunch at the Buca pub, rump steak and chips. sorbet wit some custard apple in with it, two single malt wkisky's.
Chcken laksa (mre) that was swapped inas there was no pea and ham soup in stock.

Singlr malt whisky to build on the lunch dinks then a early night.

As predicted, a somewhat carnivore sort of day.
Breakfast, my usual Sunday fare of fried egg, bacon, sausage, mushroom, white pudding, black coffee.
No lunch, just more black coffee.
Dinner, braised beef brisket, a large portion, small piece of roast celeriac, cauliflower mash, gravy from meat juices, copious quantities of red wine.

Morning all. Looks like being a lovely day and I'm hoping to keep it that way by being sensible! Fasting till midday, then having the leftover chicken thighs and veg from yesterday. Teatime the inevitable 2 boiled eggs and 2 buttered Ryvitas. Have a great week everyone

Breakfast a RyVita and cheddar "sandwich". Mostly because today was very rushed - Community Nurse coming to bandage my legs, recycling day, bins to empty around the house ready for bin day tomorrow but first of all, cleaning up after Em's projects from yesterday (I was exhausted by the time she left and didn't bother last night - just crashed feeling dreadful). And, as it happens my cleaner arrived to clean my floors. I had asked her not to come today because I didn't know when the nurse would come, but she forgot and came anyway. So I then had to rush to get stuff up off the floor in all the rooms. She was halfway through doing the floors when the nurse arrived and she had to wait to finish off the job.

It's mid afternoon now. I've made wholemeal bread. The greens soup from yesterday is ready to blitz and I have to do something with the chicken traybake left-overs. It actually wasn't very good so I'll be making a tomato/veg soup with it and heat chunks of chicken, taken off the thigh bones to make a different meal, which might taste better. I'll have one or other of the potential meals later in the day.

That beef looks stunning!

We had both. Square usually wins the debate. I recall we also used to get small round of black pudding in the square but I've never seen that for a while.

I got back to my aqua fit class today (visualise a 45 min gym workout with weights in water). My arms and legs are aching but I'll get used to it again. This was the instructor I hoped would come back post lockdowns as she really works you.
