What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yesterday Monday
B 1 poached egg and 2 small slices of weight watchers bread
L Mac Donalds cheese burger no bun
S 1 pear / 1 piece 90% choc
D 5 Jacobs wholegrain and Rosemary crackers with cottage cheese and pineapple / 3 dates
10pm Hungry so had a few pieces of chicken breast and salad BG reading this morning 5.1
 
Yesterday we took my youngest son to ATC Pirbright to start his Army training, so it was an early start.

B: Coffee and Cream
S: Cold Roast Chicken pieces and some Red Leicester
L: 1/2 a Chicken & Mayo sandwich
D: Chicken Breast with Ratatouille and melted Cheese. Asparagus and steamed green beans.
2 squares Intense & Dark Chocolate
 
S Coffee n Cream
B Sausage & 2 x fried eggs
S Coffee n Cream
L Salami Cheese Onions and Gherkins
S Coffee n Cream
D Beef and Vege Stew

Carbs 25g
 
Interesting... I've seen several people on the forum mentioning McDonalds, so I tried a Big Mac today, but replaced the bun with an Oopsie roll. Reading just before lunch was 5.7, reading 2 hours after lunch was 5.4, so no effect on BG from whatever the sauce, cheese, or burger contains. Worth knowing, if ever I get stuck somewhere without any lunch and see the 'golden arches' nearby!

LOL - I don't plan on making a habit of the burger - it was just a test!
And I do quite like beer, well, lager - especially a very cold one on a hot day - but it only usually takes a couple of mouthfuls for me to have had enough of it. And it makes me burp something shocking!
 
Made @poshtotty recipe for raspberry mouse today. Using sugar free jelly and double cream. So good - and almost carb free. Feels like a proper dessert after nearly 3 months of LCHF


 
Feeling proud i had my first hba1c come back since diagnosis 4months ago. Ive gone from 80 to 42 on low carb diet. 3 stone lost also.
Yay!
It was worth all the hard work i can keep going now
 
Haven't written for a few days been so busy but have been good ( with food anyway lol ) ....until today when I royally messed up, by accident. Was needing some groceries but wanted a Lidl high protein roll... I was in the co-op buying some other bits I needed first though and noticed in their bakery section they had something that looked identical to the Lidl roll so I bought it...and ate it, and then in my wisdom decided 'afterwards' just to check on my fitness pal...well it turns out the co-op one contained 47...'47' carbs. Oh my... lesson learned! Anyway. B - Fruit salad L - Bad bad roll from co-op with cheese and onion D - 3 sausages, mixed veg, small amount of gravy. S- strawberries and cream, a small handful of peanuts.
 
Sugar free almond macaroon??? where do I find this??? lol *excited* ... I'm assuming its a make it yourself macaroon? Makes me wonder why companies cant just make things like this ...substitute sugar for sweetener...they would have a massive niche market, imagine if someone bought out sugar free/carb free chocolate cake!
 
B. 3 eggs scrambled with cheese on top, 4 sausages and 2 wholemeal toast with salted butter.
L. Ham and cheese lidl protein roll, salad with smoked sausage, 2 tbsp humous.
D. Garlic and herb chicken with rice, 185g homemade pork rind.
 
Finding it a real challenge to return to normal eating. Strange revulsion for greenery, which is very unusual for me.

B: coffeencream x2
L: unable to reach food (trapped in office), so raided emergency stash and ate 2 9bars.
D: large piece of cold baked salmon. No salad or veg.

Will b interested to see if i am interested in anything later... If so, i BET it is a choc craving, not a real food craving.
 
Full fat Greek yoghurt with chia, pumpkin and sunflower seeds and half a grated apple for breakfast. Subway Chicken Teriyaki salad bowl for lunch. Just going to have Steak Fajitas - guacamole, sour cream, salsa, peppers, tomatoes, onions - going to go off message with a tortilla because it's been a hard day.
 
@TracyC I said to my OH today we should launch a LHCF range of cakes and cookies - sold in supermarkets, am sure it would be a winner!
 
Should have been a fasting day today but hey ho....

B: Chipolata Sandwich in LivLife bread
L: Deconstructed Rueben sandwich (Salt Beef, Edam, Mayo, Mustard, Pickles)
D: Duck Leg with loads of green beans

I'm still hungry
 
B - choc chai seed pudding with added cinnamon & flax seed. Coffee
L - 1/2 lidl HP roll (I dont like the taste of the crust so cut it off both sides) butter,chicken & salad.
D - Courgette spaghetti bolognese.

Snacks - sugar free jelly with greek yoghurt. Port scratchings
