Ooh - fish and chips! I've been dreaming of having fish and chips - yes eating the batter as well as the chips - for the last couple of days. But it is only a dream and I must put it out of my mind.Fish and chip shops sometimes have them - where they do you can buy single eggs.
Try a very large supermarket - Google suggests both Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s stock these: https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/garners-pickled-eggs-465g?utm_medium=cpc&catalogId=10241&productId=18818&utm_campaign=15424330555&storeId=10151&gclid=CjwKCAjwv4SaBhBPEiwA9YzZvI-7JF0BxEjpuKY5gFXLHg18oLCXrrDr1tlclxg91Xy1yCsARoao2RoCwXEQAvD_BwE&langId=44&utm_source=Google&krypto=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&ddkey=https:gb/groceries/garners-pickled-eggs-465g
Lidl sells almond butter very cheaply - smooth and crunchy!Found pickled eggs!
Then I drove to another village on the sea and now realised I should have bought almond butter.
Might have to drive back to that large Tesco.
I saw a grey Schnauzer on the tube the other day. Wanted to call him DennisDennis at the front of the queue when this lady looked like she was getting the dog treats out
I feel a day trip coming on!If you're ever even remotely in the area, make the detour!

The cook (also owner?) Was very enthousiastic about what he's doing. It wasn't busy when I was there so we talked quite a lot.
There was another couple who were just leaving when I came in. They hadn't been able to finish their meal because it was too much, but the cook told them to not worry about ordering one dish for the two of them next time, and he would be happy to serve as separate meals!
Happy to share his recipes too!
Besides savoury dishes, they sell a lot of different very beautiful cakes too.
I bought a piece of foccacia and a pecan blondie to have on the ferry tomorrow, and he added a couple of slices of the bread he made today as well.
And if you're there, it's a very short walk to the beach too!View attachment 56886
My DIL is in a wild swimming group. They are currently on their dip-a-day for October raising funds for charity. They are in for 20 mins each day (@andbreath - yes, they do wear wetsuits and wetsuit boots. It's a lot colder here than in the South).. The only thing that keeps them out is when the jellyfish come inland a bit! Not an issue at this time of year.Being on a beach at the see means you can either brave it and get it over with, or feel stupid afterwards because you didn't dare.
Besides, I'm not a big fan of the hassle of camping showers and it was either this or taking that much needed shower.
Came down to the south coast for my last visit to my late parents’ home, before the house is sold. House clearance company coming tomorrow
Anyway food wise I bought breakfast stuff and some snacks but completely forgot anything for dinner tonight
So I had my usual b’fast at home, stopped at a friend‘s for coffee on the way, then headed straight to a new M&S Simply Food shop, found a suitable salad (I added the nuts!) so had that followed by SF jelly
and cream.

Probably didn’t wear a swimsuit.Swimming, at Clacton, in October is certifiable! The only places I'd swim in October would be Cane Garden Bay, Half Moon Bay, or any other tropical location. UK in October will never, EVER be on my agenda.
(I bet you didn't even wear a wetsuit.)
Sunday 9 October bed 7 FBG 6.8! I though I was in for a hat trick but this was better. By afternoon I was down at 5.2. Seems I just had to be strict with myself.
D. Campari and soda. M&S chicken shawarma with a garlic/yoghurt dressing. This is really good if you like hot, spicy things. My mouth is still tingling. It says it is to feed 6 - no way! 4 maybe but not 6. Had it with asparagus, sprouts and 1/2 a roastie. I didn't finish it as it was just too much. Very good though.
@DJC3 - I am full of admiration for you assisting at 9 year olds party. I still have nightmares about one of younger grandson's parties. That was a case for a darkened room and a large gin afterwards!View attachment 56889
