What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Spent 8 hrs today travelling up from Cornwall to Scarborough for a family funeral. 8hrs, snowy conditions but could have been worse. ( I wasn’t driving, so easy for me to say!) black coffee all morning.
I packed food and gallons of coffee in case we got stuck.
1st meal 1pm packed lunch- sausage sandwich ( SLC bread and Coop high meat chipolatas) + H/b egg.
Dinner at the hotel @ 6:30pm. Sirloin steak, peppercorn sauce, mushroom, 1/2 grilled tomato and broccoli/peas combo. Possibly too many carby veg but I’m a lot more lax about carbs from veg these days. Red wine.
Relaxed now and we’ve booked a cab to take us to the crem tomorrow.

Monday 12 December bed 7.4 FBG 7.9 Busy day. School drop-offs, then straight to physio. Pile of ironing to tackle on return. That's something I am allowed to do. Hubby meantime has been allocated a task I am not allowed to do. My improved eyesight is spotting cobwebs, so he is on duty with my Dyson Stick to remove them. Looks weird, me leading him around with one eye closed to pick them out.

B. Just TAG

L. 2 slices of SLC toast with egg and bacon. Vegetable bouillon

D. Pork loin chop with celeriac chips and a fried egg. CC little chocolate pot.

@DJC3 I did indeed enjoy my campari and soda.

Breakfast ... fried eggs ,bacon and few fried mushrooms .
Lunch .... 2x low carb wraps with cheese , turkey and salad
Dinner... hm cheesy ,garlicy chicken breast in the oven with broccoli, kale, asparagus and carrots.
Coffee x 4 , 2x tea's
Large handfull of walnuts and half glass of red wine while watching semi final

4th day of the same soup, so boring despite it being tasty soup and adding cheese.
Still amazed by my newly discovered crackers from Aldi, tasty, not too expensive and only 1.2 grams of carbs a cracker.

Tomorrow I'll cook some real food again!
Lots of fresh veggies with peanut sauce and black bean and garlic pork belly strip pieces, one of my favourite meals.
GP was one I never met before, friendly and efficient, and accepting that quitting smoking was just not for now.
Got the advice to steam over hot salty water and/or use a salty nosespray. Was going to try both but promptly forgot about it. (Possibly because I absolutely hate steaming, tried it once in the past.)

Didn't forget the other trick though, permission to take the occasional codeine tablet to have a break from coughing, very nice!

Three egg, cheese and chopped up prawns omelette, two slices of toast and ginger marmalade for breakfast.
T bone steak, and green veggies, gravy, half a mango and some l/l sorbet for lunch.
Cold whiting fillets, mixed salad for supper at six.

Glass of single malt whisky for a night cap.

Tell me more about these crackers, I’m shopping at Aldi tomorrow, I’m hoping U.K. Aldi has them, I need something to put all the lovely Christmas cheeses and patés on!

Brunch - lumpy soup followed by a piece of cheese.
Dinner - keto fish pie (see Recipe section for how to)
AND a small glass of red wine!

Today's plan is for lumpy soup brunch, possibly another piece of cheese if more food needed (it's cold - makes me hungry!). Dinner will be Mediterranean chicken baked in oven - leftover chicken from roast 2 days ago, olive oil, aubergine, courgettes, a pepper, green tomatoes, spring onions that are nearing their eat-by, olives, garlic, cayenne, turmeric. Anything left plus cooking the flavour out of the chicken carcase will make the basis for lumpy soup the following day. I fully intend to have another small glass of red wine after dinner.

Have been poorly last few weeks so medication has spiked my bloods was 9 this morning but still trying to keep on track. Just had low baby bel cheese for breakie. Salmon for dinner. Hope all are keeping warm and cosy.

A crumpet, toasted and lots of butter for breakfast.

Lunch chicken mayo sandwich.

3rd meal: been feeling kind of ff today, very tired for no apparent reason so it was very easy to be put off food. I had the 3rd portion of beef stew but really didn't fancy it - I hadn't enjoyed it in the last few days anyway but I thought I could improve it by adding tghe remaining stew to some tomato soup. That didn't deal with the issue that I'd had with the stew, which was the texture of the meat and it rather spoiled the soup. So I strained it out and just had the liquid part and threw away the meat. I go off beef every so often, so I'm obviously back into my anti-beef phase. Back to fish, eggs, pork and chicken. Oh yes and lamb.

@Antje77 I also need more info on those low carb Aldi crackers!

Today: Hotel breakfast - 3 fresh poached eggs ( didn’t like the look of the rubbery fried eggs on the buffet) bacon, mushrooms and grilled tomato.
Funeral at midday and pub buffet afterwards so nothing I could eat ( I did have a gin and soda to drink though) glad I made the decision to have a big breakfast.
D- back at our hotel, sirloin steak, broccoli&peas. Mushroom and another 1/2 grilled tomato. Argentinian Malbec.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a Carb killa bar.
Dinner: crispy cheese and mushroom omelette followed by SF strawberry jelly and cream.

I'll be 15 years on 7 April 2023. I just stopped. It was the day before they operated on my crushed spinal cord. 2 and a bit weeks in recovery focused the mind and stopped me smoking. Not that I'd recommend a crushed spinal cord as a means to stop!

This is all the info I have.
Never even heard of the brand 'Goud Gebakken' before!

I think you'll be able to read most of the ingredients even without using Google Tranlate.
Fingers crossed they sell them in the UK as well!

Can't really show you what they look like because I ate the last two earlier today and I hid them professionally beneath toppings.
Breakfast sized plate, computer mouse for scale.

B Just TAG. Had to get out to defrost the car for school run.

L. CC Little chocolate pot

D. One you may like @Antje77 I haven't made this for ages and there is a double yolk egg in the middle. I dubbed it my corned beef thingy when I first concocted this. This is the Mexican - ized version where I add chilli , chopped peppers and hot sauce. I have been known to have guacamole with it but not today. It is on my CMT but here's the link

@DJC3 you may remember I varied this recipe for the Spam Summer Sizzle competition and I won the runner up prize of all that Spam stuff *which I still use

Two hard boiled eggs, two slices of toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Jogan rosh (mre), couple of lychees and a few cherries for lunch.
Toasted cheese and onion sandwich for supper at sixx.

Usual glass of malty stuff before bed.

Yesterday, not hungry, had soup home made, veg and tomato, mid afternoon. Plenty of black decaff coffee throughout the day.

Today, black coffee x2 in morning.
Mid afternoon scarambled egg, mushroom, 2 slices streaky bacon, decaff coffee.
another decaff coffee this evening, no hunger, no appetite, no weight loss despite the low food intake.

That sounds just like something I like, yes!

Late dinner today, my young neighbour asked me at 5 PM if I had time to drive up to the hospital with him to visit his dad who has been admitted since monday.
Very lucky timing, I already had my insulin pen dialed up in my hand to dose for two Belgian beers when he asked. I would have gone anyway, but I'd have a hard time figuring out what and how much to eat for the dose meant for the beer.

I'd already prepared my meal earlier in the day, so I could simply put some meat in the oven, rewarm the peanut sauce and put a plate of veggies in the microwave when I got back.
Quite a lot of work, but very yummy and enough to last me for 3 or 4 days.
