What about sheep’s or goats milk? I’m convinced those who spike higher than expected with dairy have some kind of intolerance and many with dairy intolerance do better with non cow dairy.Still struggling to drink tea without milk. I’ve ordered some white tea and some rooibos to see if they are any easier.
Those chops look delicious.Quick and simple today.
Meal 1 was 4 small air fried lamb chops followed by a few Montezuma’s 74% buttons.
Meal 2 was smoked salmon and cream cheese followed by a couple of teaspoons of cream and a few more buttons.

I like the herbal ones without milk. There's a turmeric you might like, or lemon and ginger. I find they taste different enough to black tea that I don't mind the difference if you see what I mean. I'm not substituting like for like but swapping to something different and therefore have different expectations. Just a mind con but it works for me
Friday 6 January bed 7.6 FBG 7 4 I was so looking forward to half day Friday. Ended up going to pick up some shopping in the afternoon but I was exhausted when I got back.
B. TAG
L. Very much later, a GF wrap with roast beef, lettuce, tomatoes and mustard.
D. Piece of crustless quiche (heated) with lettuce, tomato and smashed avocado. DGF Christmas pie & cream.
Saturday 7 January bed 6.9 FBG 6 7 No jujitsu so I had a lie in mostly in the hope it would make me feel better.
It didn't!
B. TAG
L. 2 slices of HiLo toasted with egg mayo
D. Courgetti carbonara. CC Little chocolate pot.
Sunday 8 January bed bed 8.2 FBG 7 7 No swimming until next week either so I was blessed with another lie in. Finally finished dismantling the tree yesterday but Hubby still isn't well enough to lug everything back into the loft. At least I've had 2 days at home to try to get something done. A vain hope!
B. TAG
L. A bit crustless quiche
D. Finally managed to get Hubby to eat a bit more. I've lost 5 lbs- he's lost 1st 2lbs!! One of these thick rib eyes you share, spinach mixed with santini tomatoes, mustard and a fried egg (double yolk). CC Little chocolate pot.
I did have a campari and soda. First alcohol this year.

So do the buttons! Those chops look delicious.
They are too! Found them in an unexpected location and couldn’t resist. So do the buttons!
You do get used to no milk. I mentioned before that it was 3 weeks in Poland, drinking tea from a glass, zero milk, that converted me. It tasted awful with milk after that. It’s a good point, I don’t like goats cheese so don’t think I’d like goat milk, but the other thing is availability. Local shops don’t do ‘exotic’ produce ( exotic also includes almond butter, Stilton, full fat cottage cheese).
I’m probably better off trying to give it up completely like @MrsA2 says - makes life easier in the long run I think.
So sorry you're both still feeling poorly. Surely it must stop sometime soon. These viruses really seem to have a long term effect. Is it still active in your systems, or is it all down to the after-effects of a virus?Friday 6 January bed 7.6 FBG 7 4 I was so looking forward to half day Friday. The view is that itvis definitely viral. Those who have managed to get near a GP were just told" It's viral, go home and take paracetamol. My Physio reckons half the central belt must have it. We all have similar symptoms. The vertigo/dizziness is the worst though. It will go eventually but I don't want another night like last night. So sorry you're both still feeling poorly. Surely it must stop sometime soon. These viruses really seem to have a long term effect. Is it still active in your systems, or is it all down to the after-effects of a virus?
Monday 9 January bed 8.8 FBG 8.4. I was feeling off again but this time the BGs were reflecting it. They did come down later for a while.
@DJC3- I judge the steak by touch then cover it and let it rest. Sometimes I leave it a bit too long though.
B. TAG - school runs then physio didn't leave time for anything else.
L. Bit of crustless quiche
D. Some cold cuts, ox tongue, ham, smoked chicken, roast beef and the last bit of crustless quiche, coleslaw. DGF Christmas pie and cream.
Tuesday 10 January - bed 8.9 FBG 7.3.
I had a really bad night. I woke up at 2am, soaked with sweat and feeling generally unwell. I had to go have a quick shower and Hubby & I changed the bed - it was that bad. I did get back to sleep eventually but it left me quite wobbly this morning. I hope this is the tail end of this awful bug. My BGs were on rapid descent but nowhere near hypo territory.
B. TAG - only one for school as Primary schools are on strike.
L one slice of HiLo toasted with egg mayo. Later, slice of SLC fruit loaf with butter - very nice too.
D. Rack of pork ribs.
This was a replacement order from SLC. Courier took 8 days to deliver a 24-hour order before Christmas, so it was ruined. This one took 4 days and is now safely in the freezer. They did add in an extra pack of their new seeded rolls though.
