Is this pork crackling that you're talking about? If so, that stuff is awesomeNone needed for that, but my crackling dealer on the local market seems to have gone AWOL.
If he’s not there tomorrow, I’ll have to jump ship, and fine someone else to service my habit.
Yes, it is. Some pieces here are larger than my OH's spread hand, as you can see in the image. I must say, I don’t buy those giant bags, as I’d likely not want to stop eating it until it were gone!Is this pork crackling that you're talking about? If so, that stuff is awesome
Well I can't blame you there. It's deliciousYes, it is. Some pieces here are larger than my OH's spread hand, as you can see in the image. I must say, I don’t buy those giant bags, as I’d likely not want to stop eating it until it were gone!
Far out. Now I'm going to have to sneak out of the hospital ward to try and buy some, I can't stop thinking about it. Hopefully they don't lock me out againYes, it is. Good source of proteinHopefully, this will work, this time. See what I mean about the sizes?

I have zero idea what is in the wee coloured pots, and haven't had the translator tool out at the time.
There was no link but I am thinking you mean one of these:You need one of these @DJC3 - just think how many layers you could get underneath, and the ridiculously large kangaroo pocket lends itself to a hot water bottle!
Yes, very much like, except this one: https://doitbetteryourself.club/products/the-billie-wearable-blanket-unisexThere was no link but I am thinking you mean one of these:

I have two - both gifts from my DIL - and they are fantastically warm, especially with layers underneath. The only problem with them is that the sleeves, in particular, are very bulky and tend to get in the way when trying to either wash dishes or cook. I hate getting my sleeves wet, don't you? The one I am wearing just now has a reasonable sized hood but it is very close at the neck. The other one has a huge hood, which does, also tend to get in the way.
Edited to fix a typo.
Brilliant result for one day. Hope it continues to improve for you, but don't be disheartened if results seem less striking from day to day. You are doing the right thing. Keep up the good work.Day one of not eating anything too carby yesterday and my chronic stuffy nose has cleared up, was so tired yesterday I managed to have a 4 hour kip in the afternoon and also sleep through the night, which was the best nights sleep in a while. Feel I can breathe again, the dry mouth at night I've had for quite some time now seems to have gone, I'm not waking to drink then to pee cause I've drunk every couple of hours. my joints (all over) feel a whole less stiffer than usual, and I feel a whole lot more alert, bit quick to say as only a day and could also be psychological too but I feel like something has been 'lifted.' think I've been slowly poisoning myself over time eating junk cause it makes me feel good, rather than for nutrition.

I find I'm allright with a few carbs - doesn't make too much difference to BGs, which have been fairly high of late anyway, but what it does do is make me want more carbs - a kind of addiction I think. It's too easy to grab something carby when I am having problems walking or standing (like this morning). I am managing to get my BGs down a fair bit though and it seems to be by changing the timing of my basal insulin dose. It's not always just the food - although that is a major part of it.Thank you for the support and advice, noted :0)
Although my numbers were far better this last HbA1c (45), I've gotten far too heavy in the last few years and its started to cause problems and bother me, for one example, maybe not a coincidence is that two days ago my foot ballooned after over indulging something really high carb, I can't seem to tolerate them any more. I think I'm travelling back from 'remission' slowly, so I need to give myself a little slap of reality and really evaluate what I'm doing to myself while I still can.
I wonder if I have to treat it as an addiction, and this is why a 'diet' in the past wasn't sustainable, or worked for a short while - rather than the food itself it being the problem, maybe the relationship that I've developed with it is the problem. It's funny (or not) if I don't eat high starchy, stodgy or sugary foods I don't crave them or stuff myself with them.
Funny enough forgot to mention but the foot also resolved since yesterday too.

Added weight is also a part of it. Due to other issues, I can't really exercise. That doesn't help. Insulin seems to encourage weight gain. High doses of that don't help. I am ballooning. Haven't weighed myself recently but my clothes are getting tighter and tighter and I already look like the big, fat slug in Star Wars (whose name I can never remember). I am hoping to improve matters by managing to reduce the amount of bolus insulin I am using - making a hopeful start on that but must not just take the easy way out and grab carbs when I can't walk. Must remember to make something the night before and leave it in the fridge where I can easily reach it. Cold omelette? That's really just a flan without the pastry. Some kind of breakfast salad? I'll see what I can manage later today.
And thus opens up a whole new world of gadgetryYes, very much like, except this one: https://doitbetteryourself.club/products/the-billie-wearable-blanket-unisex
its a free pattern just in case sewing is a light @DJC3 hides under a bushel.
