What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

So envious!!!
That's the size of bite I stole from my hubbys pizza on Monday, but it took me from 6 to 11.4, which is too much for me. Every time you enjoy yours, enjoy it for me too please xx
I only ate the part with the toppings and tried to give the crust to the dogs. They're spoiled and didn't want crust without toppings. I suspect they regularly eat pizza with my neighbours!
And I was very lucky to be at 3.8 and dropping, next time I fully expect to need to dose for it.

Skipped breakfast (aka overslept!)
Cwc
11 some leftover fritattta with added stilton

In town running errands, found a chicken shwarma in Waitrose but will have it tomorrow night. Also bought a small loaf for the boys. While slicing it for the freezer I couldn't resist the crust...
So glad I'm wearing a libre as the visual of the spike to 10.7 will stay with me, and it was only a tiny piece.

D: 2 protein crackers with pate, cucumber and olives.
Trouble is as I put the bought crackers in the tin, I found the hm ones I had made yesterday and they are already going soft.
Expect to see crackers on my reports for days to come

Love this Post. Best of luck.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a Food dr bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a Carb killa bar.
Dinner: avocado with prawns, garlic mayo and coleslaw.

Welcome @Martin_ I’m sure Mrs M will come to really enjoy low carb food in all its glorious cauliflower cheesiness. It’s such a revelation to be able to eat all those delicious full fat foods again.
Todays food:
B- microwaved eggs on 1/2 toasted SRSLY roll ( hob out of action for a bit, not really keen on microwaved eggs as a rule)
L- other half of the roll toasted with pate, sliced beef rolled around a sliver of Brie. DGF cake.
D- skate wing in lemon butter with airfried veg ( liberally dusted with lemon pepper) glass of dry white. Then a glass of red with a morsel of cheddar.

Breakfast: Egg mayo with a slice of toast.
2nd meal: Chicken with broccoli cheese.

I tried putting raspberries in carbonated water yesterday to see if it would produce a flavoured water. It was a whole punnet of raspberries in a litre of water. There was a definite raspberry taste but not as pleasant as I had hoped so I shan't do that again. Bit of a waste of some rather nice raspberries.

Lunch: Mrs M and myself had roast veg, (onion, courgette, mushroom, broccoli, tomato, aubergine, bell pepper, garlic and a small sweet potato which I ate most of) with a white fish fillet each on top. Mrs M doesn't like aubergine but there was no complaints and she said she would have it all again. Finished off with a mug of black tea and an apple.

Hi All
so yesterday brekkie usual slice LC toast, butter, copious tea.
Lunch was slice ham, chopped salad, spoon coleslaw.
Supper was Moules the French way and two glasses Cremant.
Finger of Shropshire Blue and two Ryvita cheesey crispbreads.
Today same brekkie and same lunch.
Supper will be Chicken Shaslik with cauli rice and remainder of the Cremant.
@Martin_ welcome to you and Mrs M and hope you both enjoy this LC way of eating and it helps Mrs M. Must say cauli cheese is one of my favourite things!

Finally remembered to take pics of this low carb product. From Waitrose and John Lewis, and maybe elsewhere. £2.75, 8 per pack. They do other flavours which are higher carbs and I've not tried as too high.
31g carbs per 100g but only 5.9 per slice. I've manged 2 without raising bg.
Quite a hard crunch, and quite filling

Will you be adopting the low carb eating alongside your wife?

My OH, who is the main cook in our household doesn't low carb, but does say my way of eating has influenced how much carb he is consuming. We have a firm agreement there will only ever be one meal cooked. Eating separate meals would be a nightmare.

Coffee and cream
Coffee and unsweetened almond milk
Prawns Cheese and yellow pepper
Beef and butter.
Small avocado

Yes, pretty much. As you say, eating separate meals would be a nightmare. I don't think a well balanced low carb diet will do me any harm, in fact quite the reverse.
My husband (not diabetic) likes to kick off his breakfast with a bowl of muesli, which he puts together himself and eats somewhere out of sight, so as not to torment me. He also enjoys a slice of toast with his breakfast eggs.

Otherwise, he's happy to eat low carb all day with me. He reckons his sinusitis and associated sinus headaches occur less frequently with a LCHF lifestyle.

D steak, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with a glass of red wine followed by LC cake and decaffeinated coffee.
Signing off now for about a week, bags all packed and by door ready for pick up in the morning. I'm wondering about the challenges of cruise food and formal dining but luckily I do normally manage to leave on the side any high carb stuff served and I gather they do things at breakfast such as omelettes to order and cheese as an option instead of pudding. Think it would have been harder when I started out 6 years ago but hoping won't get too tempted. I'm not planning on testing as I tend to test at home to see what works for me and these are meals I'm not likely to repeat when back! Will report back when back after my hols - most importantly I've packed my hiking boots as determined to hike a few Norwegian mountains. I'm due to book my 6 monthly Hbac1 when back so that should hopefully keep me in check! Hope everyone has a good week catch up when I get back.

Happy hols @shelley262 . Norway is stunningly beautiful , but has high rainfall, take an umbrella amd hope not to need it.

Shared a tin of tuna with our 2 cats for breakfast before heading to early yoga.

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our girl cat this morning. Hubby and son took her to vets while I was out. She was 18 and had been ill for a long time, but worse the past few days. Not unexpected but still sad.

L: seedy crackers with grated mozzarella . 1 small ice cream.

D: tried grated mozzarella as cheese crisps - didn't work! Chicken shwarma with salad and yoghurt dressing. 1 brandy on a rock.
