What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yesterday 6/4/17

Lunch. Mackeral cooked in butter with 2poched eggs cup tea

Evening Meal. Salmon cauliflower broccoli green beans Brussels sprouts = half a plate in total
But I never bother about veg portions especially above ground veg. I eat what I need to feel satisfied.

And eating just two meals a day and fasting in between helps with the weight loss, but not necessarily on the scales its the amount of body fat I've lost that's made all the difference. Down now to 16/18 dress size from 22/24 since mid January. And BG levels are pretty steady no spikes,so I'm pretty well pleased about it all. K

I can cope with tuna for breakfast - used to have it often, when a certain job role dictated a fast, portable breakfast - but I am seriously impressed that you can stomach mackerel at that time in the morning!

Yesterday:

B: coffeesub and cream
L: nothing
S: seaweed thins (decided I LOVE them, and ordered more. These next ones are 'sweet soy', with a whole 2g carbs in each pack. Do I know how to live, or wot?) and then some kale crisps later
D: a dietdoctor recipe for Thai pork meat balls. Only I stir fried the meatball ingredients, because I couldn't face balling it up. Turned out very nice, but a bit mild for my tastes. More chilli and ginger next time! :D

Mr C loves mackerel and had it a lot for breakfast as a child. The first time I had it for breakfast was a bit strange (he got it instead of kippers) but I enjoy it now. And it's quick, very quick! :)

Hello
B. Black Forest fruit with yoghurt

L. Camambert with salad

D. Brisket cooked in the slow cooker with leeks, carrots and swede. Strawberries and yoghurt.

S. Pomegranate pot and maybe some cashews during gardeners world and Masterchef :)

Cheese omelette and mushrooms

Cheese and ham omelette with salad in the canteen - must remember to say no coleslaw next time as still up at 8.1 before tea!

Hake fried in butter with leeks, Brussels and onion in cream cheese and herb sauce

Breakfast - crustless quiche

Lunch - if it's Friday it must be Nando's. 5 plain wings with salad

Dinner - plaice fillet fried in butter with juice of half a lemon and flat leaf parsley; sautéed courgette and onion

Been having problems getting into the forum and my smartphone was overheating and switching off so just catching up.
Thursday - yesterday
B. 1 egg omelette with mushroom, 1 rasher bacon, 3 vittoria tomatoes, spinach and beansprouts.
L. Was hungry so 1 slice deli roast pork and a bit of the wonderful prima Donna maturo cheese and the murcia all vino cheese and 1/2 avocado.
D. Pork loin chop with szecheun marinade , cauliflower rice, mushroom. No sugar raspberry jelly.
Trying to lower protein but this lot was still 61g.
Today - weird day. Was really, really tired last night and was having to eat on the hoof.
B. Only time to grab a coffee with cream and an edam mini
L. Not much better an edam mini and an applewood smoked minis and 2 walnuts.
D. Diet Doctor chilli salmon with steamed sprouts and asperagus. Sugar free strawberry jelly and cream.
MFP was complaining at lack of food so felt it necessary to have 2 squares of lindt 90% Excellence.

Breakfast: 2 chipolatas, 4 bacon, 1 fried egg, mushrooms, grilled tomato

Lunch: Nope

Dinner: Mr C is cooking and, of course, it will be spicy - so spicy roast chicken thighs (MFP says I can only have two of these because I am also cutting back on protein) , big salad with tomatoes, romaine, red onion, cucumber, sour cream (and maybe some cheese)

Snack: Couple of glasses of red wine.

OK bed on 6.9 FBG also 6.9 but fear not DP got me to 8.1 pre breakfast before the post breakfast nose dive.
Still trying to keep the protein lower
B. My new favourite. A 1 egg omelette packed with veggies. Today it was Vittoria tomatoes, chestnut mushrooms, courgetti , spinach, a rasher of streaky bacon and parsley.
L. Yesterday's leftover trout fillet done with the Diet Doctor chilli Salmon recipe. I love that recipe. Romaine lettuce, tomato, 1/4 avocado and a bit Murcia al vino cheese.
D. Will be cold cuts and salad.
Already worked it out and looking at 62g protein and 9g carbs.

Yesterday was
B: none
L: DD meatball stir-fry with cabbage and the gorgeous spiced mayo and chilli/spring onion relish
D: DD cubed salmon in coconut and turmeric, with butter fried pak choy. I was supposed to use a nappa cabbage or something, but the nearest thing I could find were the pak choy. The salmon was divine, the veg less so. Should have left it raw and had it as salad. Mr B had his usual DD reaction of 'Well, we can have that again!'

Today will be
B: none
L; the cold leftover salmon with salad leaves and mayo
D: the last of the meatball stir-fry.
So no cooking today, at all! Yippee!

Breakfast: Should have been mackerel but Mr C cooked egg, bacon, sausages and mushrooms before I could stop him - plus a double DECAFF Tassimo Kenco Americano with the last of the cream.

Lunch: Nothing

Dinner: Slow roast pork in fennel and white wine, cauliflower, broccoli, courgettes and roast parsnips.

Snack: Prosecco

Did not have a good night at all. Felt very unwell but ok this morning just a bit warm. Bed on 7.5 FBG 7.3 and 8 pre breakfast.
B. 1 egg omelette with courgetti, spinach, mushroom, tomato, 1 rasher crispy bacon and parsley.
Tassimo morning coffee with cream
L. Nothing
D. Back to family cooking again
Courgetti carbonara for me spaghetti for the rest of them (small starter portions)
Steak & ale with mushrooms slow cooked , sprouts , asperagus, cauliflower (roast potatoes and pastry cooked separately for everyone else)
I intend to bake a low carb cake once I decide which one.
Will have a campari and soda and a wee prosecco too. First alcohol in 3 weeks.

Yesterday:
B: cheese omelette and mushrooms
L: fathead pizza
D: baked Brie with salad (came with breadcrumbs all over so scraped out centre)
Duck with carrots and broccoli (was supposed to be with a Dijon, port and cream sauce but was suspiciously more like a redcurrant sauce)
Cheese board - ate the cheese and one grape - the celery came as about one inch sliced into ten pieces
One G&T and a bottle of red wine less one glass!

Today:
B: bacon, scrambled egg and mushrooms plus one bite of a tasteless sausage
L: travelling so 2 Babybels - ended up a bit wobbly on 5.6 at 3:30pm so had 1/2 a Lidl roll plus some Brie
D: Broccoli and cauliflower cheese using diet doctor recipe for sauce (doubled up in quantity as it makes about one tablespoon) followed by 100g cooked rhubarb and cream

Ah ....this was your weekend away meal. The brie jumped out at me when I saw the menu but I'd have been disappointed with the breadcrumb coating. Main I'd have had rib eye - they can't get a rib eye wrong. How was the hotel?

Hotel was lovely and the rooms very comfy but the restaurant was very disappointing- service wise and getting orders wrong.

Still - it was a great family reunion and it didn't change a good evening. :-)

Been absent a couple of days - away at my Dad's.

Saturday
Breakfast - crustless quiche
Lunch - roast lamb with broccoli, cabbage and a small amount of gravy
Dinner - cold lamb with salad

Yesterday
Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs
Lunch - cold lamb with broccoli, cabbage, sautéed courgette and onion and a bit of gravy
Dinner (on the train) - M&S Santini side salad, with less of the dressing than planned as sprayed it all over the carriage, coleslaw, cheese
