A better overnight Bed 6.6 FBG 6.7 and pre breakfast was 6.9. Goodness knows how as I was really stressed out yesterday. Anyway
B/L slice of Tesco high protein bread with pate and a tomato. Tassimo morning coffee and a dash of cream
D. Brain was not functioning well yesterday but opted for calamari and tartare sauce to start. Rib eye steak (great stand by) , a mix of peppers, red onion, mushrooms and courgette oven roasted and either aubergine or celeriac chips for me. The carbaholics will get Jersey Royals and onion rings (I won't repeat last week's mistake of trying jersey royals). Dessert for everyone else is a chocolate and salted caramel cheesecake which is way too sweet for my tastes so I won't be tempted.
I will however have my usual campari and soda and a wee prosecco.
Oddly I have just recalled the taste of mashed banana with sugar and warm milk which my Mum used to feed me when I was little and I'll. No idea why. Perhaps I'm longing for nicer times.
That should read ill not I'll

Hi all.

Breakfast - skipped. First time skipping breakfast when exercising in the morning. 1.5 hours walking football successfully completed. Was hungry by the end of it, but no ill effects.

Lunch - tuna mayo with rocket and baby plum tomatoes; Oppo salted caramel ice cream with added cream. @mo53 I enjoyed the salted caramel flavour - much nicer than the vanilla, but the chocolate is still my favourite.

Dinner - will be bolognese (new batch needs to be prepared today) with courgetti and grated cheese and probably a couple of squares of 90%

Anyone have any suggestions for alternative sauces that will go with courgetti? Would like to add to my range. Allergic to mushrooms and hate aubergine, but most other things fine. Ideally sauces that can be made in bulk and frozen, but open to others if they are quick and easy. Thanks.

Do you like artichoke? This is quick to make. Chopped onion and garlic and fry off in a mix of butter and olive oil. Add drained off artichokes (tinned or a jar) and continue to fry gently. Add some chopped tomatoes and continue to simmer. You can add chilli to it and if you fancy it creamy a little cream and veggie stock. I prefer it without the cream. Season , mix the courgetti through to warm , dish up and sprinkle with parmesan. That's it.

The only one our local co-op has is the mint chocolate and hubby is eating it not knowing it's lower carb/sugar
Other stockists are miles away.

@maglil55 I haven't tried the mint chocolate one either but I'm not keen on that flavour. I've only tried vanilla and salted caramel but the salted caramel is my favourite. I'm not surprised your hubby is unaware its low sugar as it really does taste as sweet as ordinary icecream.

Thanks. Don't think I've ever had artichoke so will give that a try.

The artichoke spaghetti has quite a rude name in Italian. That's one of the outcomes when you have a sister fluent in Italian with an Italian husband. You learn all the naughty words

Have you tried the puttanesca (sp?) sauce for pasta - a bit naughty but very gorgeous! Everywhere you look the recipe is different but the story (apparently) is the 'ladies of the night' used to put the ingredients in to a big pot on a hot window cill and leave it there until they'd finished 'business' for the day then eat it mixed with plain pasta.

OK, I'm not a 'lady of the night' but it is still a great sauce. :)

Breakfast: 2 boiled with buttered Lidl protein roll soldiers

Lunch: Nothing - spent the day in Harrogate - gazed at Bettys Tearoom but knew it would be too tempting just to have a cup of tea. Finally decided to go in to Costa but Mr C noticed the time and said we had left it too late and that we had to get back to the car as the meter was about to run out.... so I didn't get anything to eat OR drink. :(

Dinner: Mr C is making his signature dish which is lamb and apricot curry with ghee fried garlic cauliflower rice and a couple of vegetable side dishes - one with runner beans and the other is aubergine

Glass of wine

Raspberries

Bit higher than usual 7.2 bed FBG 7.4 then I was all over the place - stress. I am so fed up with the bile, lies and sheer nastiness floating about. I think I may hibernate until Thursday.
B. Slice Tesco high protein bread and a scrambled egg.
L. Tassimo morning coffee with cream
D. The other venison burger with a slice of emmental, half avocado, 3 santini tomatoes.
2 squares 90%

When did people in this country get to be so vile and nasty? Or is it they can hide behind the internet. So depressing.

I'm not a big fan either but there was no other option. The Alpro soya coconut one that's made an appearance is tasty.

Seriously horrible weather today. Been out twice and it is that rain that seems through. Even the grandsons were yukking. BG still a bit all over the place. Bed on 7.2 FBG was 7.1 but pre breakfast was 8.4.
B. Slice Tesco high protein bread with pate and 2 cherry tomatoes. Tassimo morning coffee with cream.
L. Nothing
D. A new thing from M&S - a jerk chicken. Think it will be nice air fried. Hubby can have rice, Jersey Royals or whatever. I'll have spiced roasted cauliflower and aubergine.
Will very likely have 2 squares Lindt 90%.
In the interests of brightening up an otherwise miserable day , two declarations from No 2
1) Having consumed sweets after swimming that turned his tongue blue I told him all about the Blue Tongued Lizard in his Aunt's garden in Australia. After a mass of questions he asked "Did it eat blue sweeties?"
2) He calls our local pub The purple pub because the exterior is purple. Anyway "I know why Papa goes to the purple pub" - Oh why? "Because he's old enough , he's 18" " And Nana doesn't go because she isn't old enough. She must be 16"
Do you know what they do in the purple pub? They drink beer.
"Mmmmm, I like beer"
He does too !
