What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hi All

Yesterday didn't work out quite as planned.
Instead of making cauliflower and pancetta soup, we ended up ordering a kebab delivery. Long story, but it made sense at the time. Mr B had his usual carb fest, but I have discovered that this place does a great chicken kebab (just pull the pitta out and ignore the chips, and it is low carb), and then order a side dish of devilled mushrooms - basically garlic mushrooms in a cream and tomato sauce. It is a huge portion, far more than I can eat in one sitting, so I had half last night and will have the rest for lunch today.

and then tonight we will have another bash at that cauli soup.

A new breakfast for me

B - Greek yogurt, blueberries, raspberries and Brazil nuts ( 1hr reading was 6.1 so looks ok to me)

L - low GI roll, chicken, avocado, coleslaw

D - boil In a bag cod and parsley sauce, broccoli, cauliflower , green beans and cheese

Trying to avoid certain areas today as there is just no let up. To amuse myself I made the courgette cheese "sandwich" for brunch and it is REALLY good. As I said before, I swapped the cornflour for almond flour and it is just binding. I used courgetti but grated courgette would combine better although courgetti still worked. I beat the egg before adding to the mix. Season it well. Very quick to make and I will certainly make this again.

Breakfast: Two boiled eggs and buttered Lidl protein roll soldiers

Lunch: * A small portion of mushy peas and a small portion of battered cod (naughty Chook) - weirdly enough my BG was exactly the same two hours after lunch as it had been just before.

Dinner: Beef brisket (slow cooked in red wine and spices) 'pulled' and served with chopped salad, Lidl protein roll and some sour cream dip

Supper/dessert: 60g of fresh raspberries

While watching election on TV this evening I either have a bottle of red wine to drown my sorrows or a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

* eaten after a four hour wait at Doncster Royal Infirmary....

Hello, I seem to have eaten a lot today

B. Raspberries and cream

L. Bacon, egg, sausage, black pudding, half a tomato and mushrooms.

3 humbugs while travelling :(

Lamb chop, carrots, onions, cauliflower and gravy. Strawberries and cream. :)

I've got the prosecco on ice. In fact, I'm having one now.

Bad weather seems to have passed over now. No 2 grandson was here all day hence why I am relaxing with a glass of prosecco now. Bed was 7 FBG 6.9 and pre breakfast was 7.8 only it was brunch so I thought it would have gone higher.
B/L That courgette cheese sandwich which was really delicious. So much so I would have had more for dinner but I had meatballs ready to cook.
D. Lamb meatballs which I fried off in olive oil. Then added a mix of red onion, red , green and yellow peppers, courgette, cherry tomatoes. Apart from the cherry tomatoes everything else was sliced and chopped. Stir fried for a bit then added a tomato and chilli sauce I had made previously. Some oregano then popped the lot into a Pyrex dish and into the oven for about 25/30 mins. Served with oomi noodles which I blasted in the microwave for 1 min. Note oomi noodles do have a slight fish odour if you microwave them but it goes quickly and they don't taste fishy. Sprinkle of parmesan and that was my second really tasty meal today. Will work out the nutritional information but I have enough for tomorrow.
1 glass of prosecco so far .....more may follow depending how the results are going. I hope I'm not going to regret not liquidating all our savings.

Completed a 24 hour fast from lunch yesterday to lunch today. Not nearly as hungry as last time I tried it.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - 2 fried eggs, 2 rashers bacon, salad (lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, coleslaw)

Dinner - small portion of salami and cheese; sugar free jelly with cream; 2 squares 90%

How are you storing the oomi noodles?
We bought some (from the fresh veg section in tescos, possibly chilled, but definitely not refrigerated), came home and threw them in a cupboard - like i do with slim noodles and konjac noodles.

Days later, when we came to use them, the sealed packaging had blown up like a balloon.
Tiny black writing on the back of the packaging says to refrigerate.
But it really could be more obviously stated!

Mine are in the fridge. As you said they were on the chill shelf so I thought fridge was the best place for them. They are reasonably long dated. Not enough to build up a large stock but I still have 2 packs. I really like them.

Breakfast: 2 fried eggs on a split and toasted Lidl roll with two rashers of grilled streaky bacon

Lunch: Nothing - or maybe a giant cup of Costa Americano with cream

Dinner: A fishy feast.... a whole trout baked in lime, white wine and butter - and barramundi and red snapper fillets fried in butter and garlic - with some asparagus and broccoli

I'm having to cut back a bit on carbs due to the pain of the arthritis in my neck raising my BG (again). Weird how the neck pain really affects it whereas on days when its just the pain in my knees it my BG goes back to respectably low numbers. :(

This morning I had some mini cheddar bites (cathedral city), a bag of pork scratchings and 2 pepperami.
I think all that protein screwed by BS.
Lunch was a little tub of clotted cream with a dozen blueberries. And a pot of green olives with Iberico cheese. I'm trying to like them. Honest. But they truly are damned horrible things to eat. Seriously, there's nothing redeeming about green olives :spitoutdummy::hungover:

So far I have had nothing since dinner last night. BG well out of sorts. Been in the low 8's most of the morning. Dropped to 7.3 then 6.8 post aqua. Not heading any lower. I know I need to eat something but trouble is I don't feel hungry at all and cannot think what to get to eat.
Suspect it is just concern for what happens next for the UK. I have this horrible feeling we're going to have to do it all again in the not too distant future.

*big hug* It's no use stressing about it, it's not in your control to do anything about it. Fasting is okay but not eating unintentionally isn't. Try to get a good night's sleep and then plan your meals for tomorrow. Maybe go back to DD basic plan for a few days?

At least the Fish was clearly shown the Will of the Scottish people and openly admitted she knows why.

Maybe glass of Prosecco time,?

Evening.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - Friday Nando's visit. 3 plain wings, quarter plain chicken, salad; 20 minute brisk walk afterwards and 2 hour rise was just 0.2 mmols

Dinner - 2 sausages, 1 Birds Eye burger, 1 rasher bacon; sugar free jelly with cream; 2 squares 90%

I know that. I think it is the fact of been there, done that and I know the aftermath. I cannot believe it is such a shambles and as I said it benefits no one. I could have written a better manifesto than that and the comparison with Ruth Davidson's campaign in Scotland was chalk and cheese. As for the fish the hypocrisy of that woman is off the scale. Still offering to form a "progressive alliance" even although the numbers don't add up. Despite her trying the ah but we won she is wounded - 37% ? Try getting ìndependence on that. She sunk to a new low when she disclosed the content of a private conversatìon live on air and I suspect she will not be allowed to forget that one. The tide has turned here.
Anyway
B. Nothing
L. Nothing
D. 1.5 courgette cheese sandwich again.
Lots of water and one Tassimo morning coffee with cream.
MY Fitness Pal hates me!

Hello
