What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Finally!!
The Diet Doctor meal plans in the member area at last allows you to change the meals and the shopping list to what you want. The recipes in the weekly plans have a Change button top right. When you press it a suggestion appears but if you don't fancy that either then there is a menu bar at the top of the suggested recipe where you can browse or search for what you want. Massive improvement.

B- 1 slice liv life bread with 5g butter
L - 1 slice of my homemade low carb lemon and blueberry cake
D - 1 slice liv life bread with 50g home made roasted cougette 'hummus' ( from real meal revolution book)
S - 2 mahoosive strawberries and 1 brazil nut
Drinks - 2x nespresso with cream, 1 x tea with lactofree milk, 1 glass califia cold filtered coffee and almond milk, sparkling water
910 cals, 22g carbs
Blood sugars have pretty well flatlined all day (1.2 difference between highest and lowest) , still need to get morning one below 6 again - work in progress
Made a loaf of the "banting bread" from the real food revolution book - the pictte in the book looks lovely, the mixture ive put into bake looks " interesting" - lets see if the two marry up!

Edit - looks promising!

B. Slice Hovis lower carb seeded with the fruity one pate and Tassimo morning coffee with cream.
L. Slice roast pork, slice ox tongue and 4 bits of Lidl's mixed German sausage selection. Lettuce , 4 cherry tomatoes, spoon of coleslaw and Helmanns of course. And another Tassimo morning coffee with cream.
D. Chicken breast with ham and cheese and Oomi Noodles.

Breakfast: Fried Egg. Was making the dog her Saturday Scrambled egg (She's spoiled), so decided to fry and egg for myself whilst the pan was out.
Lunch: A small piece of cheddar, a salad tomato, a couple of olives, and a spoon of cottage cheese.
Dinner: Baked cod, green salad with mayo.

Having a treat morning tomorrow, hubby, dog and I are going to a National Trust house for a cream tea.

I'm going to use that recipe for my Sunday lunch tomorrow. :)
You won't regret it - it really is very good and any leftovers keeps fine in the fridge overnight and is easily reheated in the microwave next day. What makes it so good is you are not dealing with the "wetness" when you steam or boil.

B Greek Yeo , flax seeds, cherries - no cream today and no nausea. Reluctantly put rest of cream in the bin, it is clearly not my friend :(

D Fry up of eggs, bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms in butter and a perfect builders brew.

T Cottage cheese (yuk - why did I buy this?) and carrot salad. Individual Boursin for some flavour. Handful of frozen blueberries eaten like tiny frozen boiled sweets.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - out and about. Five Guys bunless bacon cheeseburger (lettuce wrap instead of bun) with mayo, tomato and onions.

Dinner - none. Fasting lunch to lunch over the weekend as it fits better with my plans.

Drinks - 1 tea with cream, 1 tea with milk, sparkling water, still water

Yesterday.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and a bit of xylitols. Leftovers from yesterday -- peppers stuffed with ground beef, feta, goat cheese, onions, pumpkin and cilantro in tomato-cream sauce.

Went out shopping in the city all day. Skipped lunch.

Dinner: Toasted almonds, manchego, red wine at our favorite tapas bar. Later at home some more leftovers plus a table spoon of low-carb mousse au chocolate.

Bed 5.7 FBG 6.1 and pre breakfast was 7.1. Horror of horrors I hit 10 post breakfast. I won't do that again. Too many carbs obviously.
B. Finishing off yesterday's cold meats. 1/2 Slice each of roast pork and ox tongue and 8 mini slices of Lidl's German sausage selection. Boiled egg , 4 cherry tomatoes and a Tassimo morning coffee with cream. Mistake was to have a slice of Hovis lower carb seeded toasted.
L. Nothing
D. Mini ribs to start. Home made chicken cordon blue. Mine will be wrapped in parma ham - others breaded. Cauliflower mash , brussel sprouts and broccoli.
Usual campari and soda and a wee prosecco.
BGs still dropping thankfully.

Love lamb and mint sauce. Always makes me think of a Ken Dodd joke from years ago " How do you worry sheep?" " look at them in their field and say "mint sauce, mint sauce"". Typical Doddie.

I also made a low carb strawberry swirl cheesecake

http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2016/04/low-carb-strawberry-swirl-cheesecakes.html

Made a large version but it actually looks like that. It is still chilling in the fridge. The carb eaters don't know again they will be fed low carb dessert. What is it though with these low carb crusts that there always seems to be too much butter in the base?

Best cauliflower recipe ever! In fact, although I love cauliflower cheese made the old way, it's far quicker and tastes the same to do it that way.
Even my husband liked it, and I didn't make it expecting him to want any as he had potatoes and yorkshires. He said to me "can we have this with sausages and onion gravy in the week?". He's normally a veg hater. Result!

Tea
B: Bacon, eggs, spam lite, beans, 1 spelt bread
2.30: sml pack pork scratchings
T: Lamb shank in red wine & shallot gravy, roast sweet potato, sugar snap peas, 2 yorkies & 2 sml vin rouge
tea during the day

B: scrambled egg and smoked salmon, herb tea
S: coffee substitute and cream
D: lambheart stew with one new potato and a blob of Haagen Daas (sp?) vanilla

Edited to add: blood glucose was back down to starting point at 2 hrs after dinner - which was a delightful surprise.

I made it again today and the leftovers is off to the fridge for tomorrow. Hubby is spot on it is brilliant with casserole sausages.
