What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Another fasting day...

Breakfast: Black coffee

Lunch: Mug of Bovril (if I need it)

Dinner: Two egg ham and cheese omelette with a side salad

Drinks: Coffee with breakfast then sparkling mineral water for the rest of the day

Slight alteration to plans....

Still no breakfast or lunch but dinner will be lamb chops, cauliflower, runner beans and roast courgette (due to the huge amount of veg ready for eating in my garden).

The Urban Fruit packs of triple toasted coconut that I love so much ......they are 3.7g net carbs per pack. Didn't think I'd be lucky enough for the net carbs to be negative. Doesn't matter though as they don't affect my BG anyway and they are delicious. In fact just had a pack instead of lunch.

Well another day that began with a big liver dump - bed on a 7 up on a 10 - so I decided some more drastic action was called for
Decided to semi fast and also lower my protein to give liver less to turn into glucose, and also to up fibre
Made a salad of 1 bag each watercress & rocket, 4 stalks celery & 1avocado
B & L salad With a drizzle of tahini
D - 1 slice Banting bread & 5g tahini.
Mid evening - Another portion of salad with a roasted aubergine dippy thing I made
Drinks - water
620 cal 16g carbs 23g fibre
Sugars have responded very well - Hovering between 4 & 5 since mid afternoon which is more than satifactory
NB The banting bread ( recipe from real food revolution book) is quite good
Are you mobile? If so, I find the best remedy for early morning highs is to go for a walk. It helps to shift the glucose out of your blood stream.

Not at the moment - healing up from a muscle / ligament tear in my foot but thanks for the suggestion

B -1 slice livlife toast with tahini
L - 1/4 pot avocado dip and 1 tbsp aubergine dip
D - 100g each cauliflower, tenderstem broccoli, baby brussels, & fine beans steamed and served with 30g goats cheese, 10g chilli seeds and 10g tahini
Drinks - 3 litres sparkling water and some sugar free squash

So far 550 cals. 22g carbs and 21g fibre
last night pre bed sugars were 4.4 so required some food to avoid nocturnal hypo - anticipate the same tonight
Todays sugars have been firmly in the 4-7 sweet spot

Edit my suspiscion was right 4.3 at bedtime so a slice of toasted protein bread with some sugarfree peanut butter was added to the mix

Hello
B. Strawberries and cream

L. Stilton, few walnuts.

40 minutes swimming

D. Salmon with salad. Raspberries with Alpro chocolate and hazelnut icecream.

Day off from fasting today.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - Waitrose tinned wild Alaskan salmon with mayo, salad (baby spinach, rocket, broccoli, baby plum tomatoes)

Dinner - my first ever attempt at cooking carbonara and quite a successful one. Used onion instead of mushrooms. @maglil55 don't have any Oomi noodles yet - didn't realise they are only available from Ocado, so will have to wait until my next big shop. Used courgetti instead. Followed by 2 squares of Lindt 90%.

Drinks - 1 mug tea with cream, 1 Diet Coke, 1 San Pellegrino, plain water

B Poached egg on half Lidl roll toasted, with Marmite & butter.
L Experiment. A search for anything edible within 10 feet of the kitchen door yielded rocket, lettuce, 2 types of parsley, chives, nasturtium flowers and mint for a dressing. I just added blue cheese and cherry tomatoes.
D Lamb chop, steamed veg, garlic mushrooms.

Took a while to decide what to eat today. The festering bug is improving as I went to bed on 5.9 and FBG was 6.9. Still not right as I hit 8.1 pre breakfast but it descended a lot quicker today.
B. Omelette made with bacon, tomato, mushroom and a little cheese. Tassimo morning coffee with cream
L. Marigold Swiss bouillon anď 3 Walnuts.
D. Homemade burger on a Portobello mushroom with a slice of Emmental. Lettuce , tomato, 1/2 avocado, 3 Walnuts, tablespoon coleslaw and Helmanns. Left about half - way too much.

Thanks @badcat and @maglil55 I thought that, but when I looked online the Tesco site said they are currently unavailable and the Oomi site only refers to Ocado. Will have a look in a Tesco if I'm passing.

In our Tescos they are kept cool in the fresh veg section - near the pots of cauli rice and courgetti.
- not the place i first looked!
