Monday... leftovers day!

Breakfast: Boiled egg and (half of a) Lidl protein roll buttered soldiers

Lunch: Small avocado

Dinner: Leftover roast beef, spoon each of broad beans, cauliflower cheese, glazed carrots and parsnips - filled plate with runner beans and brussel sprouts - plus gravy

Dessert: 50g Alpro hazlehut and chocolate icecream

Drinks: decaff tea with soya milk until mid afternoon then sparkling mineral water

Weirdly this exact same dinner gave me a very low rise on Sunday - yet on Monday evening my BG shot up higher than I've seen it in recent weeks. :banghead:

Tuesday...

Breakfast: Half a Lidl protein roll buttered and cut in to soldiers and a boiled egg

Lunch: 125g Apro coconut yoghurt with 2 tbs chopped Brazil nuts

Dinner: This -> https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1938/greek-salad-omelette-

Which was absolutely gorgeous!! I 'tweeked' it by using a whole 200g pack of Feta and a whole 200g tub of cherry plum tomatoes - I also added oregano and garlic to the egg mix AND sprinkled fresh basil leaves on the top.

Snack: One square Lindt choc - ewwww

Drinks: decaff tea with soya milk until mid afternoon then sparkling mineral water

Keep at it - you'll get there.

Welcome back!!!!! :) :) :)

I don't know if I want to - its making me feel a bit tummyish after eating it and I've noticed that each time I experiment with it that I struggle to get off to sleep. Seems too much of a coincidence.

OK I have a lot to catch up on (while my machine catches up on my laundry).
Saturday evening I was unsure what I would have for dinner.
First, can I say that Italian in Harrogate is excellent - Giannis - near the Conference Centre. I opted for Vitello Tonnata to start. The best I have ever seen in presented. It is a dish of very fìnely cut veal served with a tuna flavoured Mayonnaise type sauce. In their case the sauce was spread on the plate and the thin Slices of veal arranged like the petals of a flower on top with a small salad in the middle. It is served cold. Presentation was amazing considering there were 16 of us. Main was again veal with a mushroom /marsala sauce served with wilted spinach, green beans in truffle oil and courgette chips. Couple of glasses dry white and a couple of Bailey's. Didn't harm the BGs bed 5.6 FBG 5.2.
Sunday - everyone else leaving
B. 2 GF pork sausages, 2 bits back bacon, fried egg, mushrooms, 2 teaspoons baked beans, mushrooms , slice GF toast and 2 poached eggs - yes you did see that right. Breakfast was a bit of a disaster at the hotel - agency chef that had no idea what he was doing so breakfast turned up in bits. Some of our group ended up with 3 breakfasts! Pot black coffee.
L. Black coffee while out walking
D. 2 glasses dry white and 2 Bailey's.
Starter of a slice of black pudding with poached duck egg and a fresh tomato salsa. Served with rocket and pea shoots.
Main - rib eye with steamed cabbage, green beans and a pepper sauce.
All the walking kept the BGs in the 5's.
Monday and it's home time.
Bed 6.4 FBG 6.2 . Last hotel breakfast. Better organised today.
B. Slice GF toast, 1 fried egg, 2 bits bacon, 2 teaspoons baked beans, 2 GF sausages, mushrooms and pot of coffee.
L James Martin's Mediterranean chicken on the train. Much better for me than the wrap. Coffee
D. Was supposed to be going out but ended up with spìcy chicken wings with lettuce, tomato and a sour cream dip. 2 bits Lindt 90%.

Not so much walking due to travelling but BGs still hung about 5's /low 6's.

And my catch up continues. The reason I didn't get out for my dinner on our later Monday return was because we returned to find brother who had gone to hospital expecting a blood transfusion had been admitted. He has chicken pox! He did have it as a child but having had 2 stem cell transplants for Myeloma his immunity had gone. So into isolation he went, blood transfusion, anti viral, penicillin and another antibiotic for a chest infection. So I dropped off case, picked up boys from swimming then rushed around getting some shopping. Anyway bed 6.2 FBG Tuesday 6.4..
Tuesday back to normal routine - took boys to school /nursery. Pick wee one up at lunchtime for his regular lunch of Pasta lasagne, gym monkeys then we played with Thomas trains for a while before collecting his brother from After School Club then home. In the midst of this I did an online shop and packed a bag for my brother.
B. A quick omelette with bacon and mug of black coffee
L. Slice Bfree GF bread toasted with M&S Coronation chicken
Went off to hospital to see brother (I've had chicken pox) then late dinner
Lettuce, tomato, 1/2 avocado, poached salmon fillet, tablespoon prawns and fresh anchovies, 4 mozzarella pearls and 2 baby beets.
Made Chia Pudding earlier so had some with 6 raspberries.
Bed 5.9 FBG was 6.4. Today Wednesday.
B. Still wanting cooked breakfast so...black coffee, 2 black farmers daughter pork chipolatos, 2 bits streaky bacon, 1 bit Simon howie black pudding, 1 fried egg and 3 cherry tomatoes.
L. Coffee
D. Will be another salad. More prawns, last of the anchovies, 4 mozzarella pearls, other half avocado, lettuce, tomato and Helmanns. More chia pudding and 6 raspberries.

Need to get back to fasting next week. Only 8 weeks to Chistmas so 8 weeks to fast into shape (sorry for the C word).

Hi @maglil55,

I'm so glad to see you back. Your dinners out sound absolutely delicious. Hope you they tasted as good as they sounded.

How is your brother feeling? Has he gotten over the worst of the chicken pox?

They did indeed. Brother will be in for a week. He has Myeloma so the infection is a bit more serious in his case but he is doing better now he is getting antibiotic and anti virals. They are making sure he gets rid of the infection this time.
I'll be trying out some of these recipes myself now I am home.
