What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

It’s delicious and very easy - I’m not a great cook! It’s the crust from this recipe (just added my own topping instead of the suggested one). I don’t use any tomato sauce as I find it too sweet.

Once you’ve lost the taste for sickly sweet tomato sauce, a smear of tomato puree does a great job as a replacement. :D

Interesting. I’ve found that abit of fresh tomato on top is quite good, but the purée is too sweet - used it the first time I made the pizza.

No match tonight! I was 5.4 before dinner, ate late too so post reading not due til 9.30pm. How old is your granddaughter going to be?
Still a good result though
She will be one next Saturday but we are celebrating tomorrow as a family as her auntie Ashlee, my other daughter flies out on a holiday on Tuesday so won’t be here next weekend.

Fathead pizza is to die for I’ve never seen anyone post that they don’t like it :hungry:
Yes I need to be brave and make one. I have used the recipe to make bagels, however they look more like rock cakes, they do taste ok though.

Haha! You need to only use a smear, and buy the cheap brands, they are usually more acidic. :)

I use Tesco tomato and garlic pizza topper, it’s 6.8g carbs for 100g and I use about 30g on my portion :hungry:

Just tested 5.2 2 hrs after my evening meal, I had sausages, cauliflower rice and blue cheese dressing

Breakfast. 3 scrambled eggs. Spinach. 2 jalapeno sausage patties. 2 whole wheat toast. 30 gram carbs

Lunch. 1 double bacon cheese burger lettuce wrap bun. Zucchini fries chipotle dip. 14 gram carbs.

Dinner. Taco salad. 31 gram carbs.

Snack. Mixed nuts. 8 gram carbs.

I feel like I'm getting cocky. My blood sugar is between 5 and 6. The highest it's been was 6.8 but I'm sailing.

B- coffee w/cream, 1 can of sardines (in oil & lemon) smooshed and spread on 2 pieces LC bread (I know, strange brekky)
L- spinach salad
D- fast food (fried chicken, coleslaw), glass of red wine.
Fried chicken and coleslaw sounds delicious. There is a wine store near me I've been meaning to check out.

What do you allow yourself to climb up to? The highest ive been was 7.8 but that was because of the beans and small amount of rice in the salad bowl
The highest I got was 7.9 but that's too high! I usually stay 6.9 and below. You want to stay below 7.7 to avoid damage/complications.

Yes I've read that and it concerns me. But it's 7 o clock here in Canada. Time to hit the gym and work up an appetite for this taco salad I made for dinner.

Take care. Cheers

Good morning all. Back on the blood sugar roller coaster. Blood sugars again a bit higher this morning, which I don't quite understand. Might be the flu that is still somewhere lurking, again a bit of sore throat and sneezing now and then -- but nothing dramatic.

Was doing a bit of internet shopping and am trying out a few new things. So, ordered a few Adonis snack bars, thanks for the thumbs up, @Rachox. I also bought ketchup sweetened with erythritol and some lupini beans (also known as altramuces or tremocos). The beans have less than 1g of carbs per 100g, so am really curious to see how they taste and what I can do with them. It seems that in Spain and Portugal, they are used as a snack, similar to peanuts.

@Goonergal, @Brunneria, @Rachox, and @jayney27 -- an alternative to tomato sauce on pizza is sour cream, though technically that probably makes it a tarte flambe I suppose. I actually prefer the taste as it is less acidic.

Friday ...

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol. Half a merguez sausage.

Lunch: Tuna sashimi with a homemade low-carb Asian inspired sauce and low-carb cole slaw.

Dinner: A DD keto roll, one half with butter and sliced chicken breast, the other half with butter and beef salami. A cornsalad with Caesar's dressing and parmesan, low-carb chocolate mousse with whipping cream and a very small serving of erythritol-candied kumquats. A glass of red wine.

Today, we have blue skies and expect temperatures to go up to 23 degrees. Am looking forward to spending the day outside.
