4.8 2 hrs after my evening mealToday’s menu
Ham, cheese and my treat of a Cappuccino
For lunch I had salad, including peppers, tomatoes and sour cream and chive dressing with 2 ruled.me recipe scotch eggs
Dinner was grilled bacon, poached egg, mushrooms and some kale (didn’t want to waste it)
BG late afternoon/early evening was 5.6 before evening meal it was 4.9 I will update later with the 2 hr after food levels
Is that it now, no more bunny2pm lamb chops
6pm a tescos 100% beefburger with cheese and sliced chorizo, with a bit of added butter.
Too much protein, and not enough fat today. The lamb chops were far too lean.
The last bunny toes.
Also 2 mugs coffeesubstitute and cream. Should have added more cream!
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream (2 tsp) washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cold roast chicken with salad of raw cauli & broccoli with Caesar sauce followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid-afternoon: orange chia pudding and black coffee.
Dinner: omelette with mushrooms and seriously strong cheddar with salad leaves followed by low carb carrot cake with cream.
Welcome to this thread @Stronggirlsclub its a great place to share food and ideas.
Fathead pizza is a diet doctor recipe see www.dietdoctor.com it’s got brilliant recipes and loads of info on low carb eating it’s highly recommended by us all on here we all have used their recipes and we sometimes adapt them and share these adaptations too.
Oh no, never mind, I’m sure you enjoyed every mouthful from ears to feetYes indeed.
RIP
How do you make the porridge? Sounds delicious!
What is a fathead pizza? Looks delicious!
Evening all, Ive enjoyed looking through all the posts from the last few days. I feel the need to have slow cooked belly pork soon! @Goonergal I’ve had it from M&S a couple of times - they do a smallish joint (750g ish) and following the cooking instructions on it has given superb results.
Iceland was wonderful, can’t recommend it enough, even though the Northern lights didn’t come out to play. ( good excuse to go back)
Journey started annoyingly when I realised I’d left my lovingly prepared Oopsie rolls in the fridge, but I wasn’t hungry enough to try the Easyjet food thankfully.
Breakfast in the hotel was standard international fare so was easy enough: scrambled eggs, cold meats and salami, cheese etc. I found that eating a couple of extra slices of salami kept me full way beyond lunch. We were out on tours most days and they tended to stop off for lunch breaks at fast food places so I was glad not to have to bother. ( I also packed some Adonis bars and pork scratchings just in case!)
I tried to choose well in the evenings but had a couple of horrible shocks at post prandial testing. One night I ordered the fish of the day; ling ( delicious, a bit like cod) and it came on a barley risotto, only a couple of spoonsful but I ened the evening with bg 9.6 !
Quite sad to be home but relieved to have some control over what I eat again.
@ziggy_w you posted that you use sour cream instead of tomato puree on puzza base - do you flavour it or just spread it straight on?
@shelley262 I did laugh when I read about your hollow rolls but glad they tasted good. I havent tried that recipe yet.
Today I had no breakfast, (too early departure for hotel breakfast)
Lunch when we got home mid afternoon was a Pret avocado and crayfish salad
Dinner roast chicken and salad and a couple of glasses of cold dry white wine.
My daughter is here and has made us some crispy roast kale snacks ( spread chopped kale on a baking sheet, spray with olive oil, season with s&p a bit of chilli flakes and grated parmesan, then bake for 10-20 mins at around 180 tossing once or twice until crispy - really good)
Welcome back! Very jealous of your Iceland trip and thanks for the tip about the M&S belly pork. One of their food halls is about to open near the office, so a good excuse to go in.
