Morning @Stronggirlsclub just a quick bit of guidance when you are trying to lose weight on this way of eating rather than just reduce your bgs - you may need to reduce down your fat intake just a bit but keep it as the highest macro in your diet. For example a bullet proof coffee may be too much fat especially as you have breakfast too. I tend to water down double cream and then froth it up you don’t need masses of fat in am to bring bgs down as long as you avoid the carbs. You’re doing really well and it may make a change just to swap the bullet proof for a coffee with just a small amount of cream hope this helps. It’s been a good day here despite the rain. I’ve had my lowest numbers ever!
Breakfast; bullet coffee before swim followed by a cheese selection afterwards.
Wake up; 10.9
After swim; 12.4
After breakfast; 7.2
Lunch was 3 pieces of fathead pizza
Befor lunch; 7.3
After lunch; 7.1
Dinner was a caeser salad with lots of dressing and cheese, asparagus and boiled egg. Followed by a slice of warm lemon cake with cream.
Before dinner; 7.2
After dinner; 7.0
I then had one green and blacks salted caramel velvet edition choc but that seemed to spike me a little too high (3g carb)
Before choc; 6.5
1hr after choc (bedtime); 8.7
I think I’ve learned to eliminate carby snacks.
Woke up this morning with my best ever FBG of 9.1 and it had dropped to 8.2 after swimming.
Exercise really seems to be helping!
Numbers are still nowhere near where they need to be, but 2 weeks on keto and the progress has been so encouraging.
Just wish the weight loss mirrored the smbg.

My house is overrun with kitchen roll. My son insists I buy it bulk when I take him to Costco as it is more economical. Thing is it last me months and at this stage when I've just replaced it - it's everywhere!!Hahahaha
Thing is I only had 1 sheet of kitchen roll left, and the salami is what my daughter’s bought for her lunch tomorrow - she wont be best pleased to find I pinched a couple of slices.
If I’d made 8 I’d definitely have eaten 8!

Tomorrow I have my induction at the new gym so I hope that improves my mood. DIL teaches some classes there and she was saying she's spotted quite a few from my current gym and they did say quite a few had moved there.
The only gyms I don't like are the ones full of muscle heads and the pastel lycra brigade with full make up, hair extensions , false nails and busy with pouty selfies and not a drop of sweat on them - sure many of you can relate to what I mean. It's what put many of my gym buddies off the other two nearby clubs. The one I've joined is quite 'normal' and that was the attraction with my current gym. We're all shapes and sizes and no one feels intimidated. I'm sure once I've been a few times I'll be fine.Hope it goes well at the new place. Gyms can be a bit intimidating I find, but hopefully, if a few of your old gym buddies are already there it’ll be fine and dandy.
Today I had my 1st Chia Seed Pudding as recommended by the brilliant book 'Bright Spots and Landmines'. Has anyone tried this? I found the texture something I'll have to get used too but I managed to make 4 mini bowls each containing 8g carbs 6 of which are from fibre so no dramatic effect on my blood sugars. Has anyone else found ways to make this very healthy dish more appetising???
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream (2 tsp) washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cold roast chicken with salad of cauli and broccoli with Caesar dressing followed by Greek yoghurt and blueberries.
Mid-afternoon: Hartleys 10cal jelly and black coffee.
Dinner: salmon fillets with creamy peppercorn sauce, mixed veg and celeriac mash followed by strawberries and salted caramel Oppo with a tiny piece of my Lindt Easter egg.
Still got Easter egg left @Rachox? That is impressive!
Can’t believe your dr - very difficult when they spout rubbish. I’ve just quietly come off all my meds as I’ve gone along as I’ve felt I haven’t needed them anymore. Such a shame isn’t it that they believe that rubbish despite evidence in front of them.Glad you had a better day today @shelley262
Those salami crisps of @Brunneria are great aren’t they - I bought a load more salami today, and a big kitchen roll!
B: blue cheese and spinach omlette
L: out with friends at an independant cafe so had to make an educated guess - house salad with avocado and halloumi, coffee with cream ( forgot I’m off coffee, it was lovely and no ill effects!)
D: Sea bass fried in coconut oil, with creamed spinach and buttered green beans.
Greek yoghurt and a few raspberries
Had an unbelievable docs appt today: wanted to discuss stopping statins as all my blood results are in normal range now. He started talking about diet, insisting I ate a fist size portion of rice or pasta with my meal, a slice of bread every day and ‘just one biscuit’ he said it was dangerous not to eat carbs. That my liver needed glucose or I’d have too much acid in my blood, then seemed to get in a pickle with ketosis and ketoacidosis. I was hard pushed not to laugh out loud at some of the complete rubbish he was talking but I needed him to refer me for a different ( non diabetes) appointment so had to bite my tongue and smile politely. The fact that all my results are now better than they’ve been for ages by not eating as he was telling me to didn’t seem ironic to him at all!
