@DJC3 I am loving the 1st world problem of selecting which G and T glasses to useOn another note, I am feeling like I am sploshing around having had 5 pints of tea since about 7.30. In a previous incarnation 5 pints in 4 hrs after cricket, rugby, football or training would have been lightweight and seen me branded as some kind of healthy living freak to be avoided at all costs.
Rumour has it that the old Fen boys used to take cold tea and a leather strap into the fields on days such as this. Soak the strap and suck it while hoeing - those fields were massive. Not exactly cold brew but only idea I have heard of. Mrs P has a penchant for iced tea. Welsh people born in the London Borough of Fulham are a strange breedThere was someone on the radio this morning extolling the virtues of cold brew tea, she said it was perfect for the hot weather. Have you tried it?I’ve only heard of cold brew coffee.
Wow @DJC3 I somehow imagined you as a foodie with all the tools and trappings. Chopping is easy just cut into circles and remove edges. I have added the making of this to Mrs Ps appraisal targets and she believes the spiralizer I kindly provided her one wedding anniversary or Christmaswould work ( well, you have to look after the staff)
I just slice off pieces of celeriac and remove the outer edges as I go, much easier than trying to peel it or cut.Nice idea, I love celeriac remoulade but chopping/ grating celeriac is too much of a fag ( I haven’t got a food processor) cauli and broc are much easier.
You gave away a Nespresso!Haha I did have one but sent it down to Cornwall for my daughter to use, along with my Nespresso coffee machine and my favourite G&T glasses. I am regretting all 3 now.
I am trying to avoid buying more gadgets as the kitchen there is small and I am aiming for a simpler life ( won’t happen but that is my plan atm)
You gave away a Nespresso!
You can go off people you know!
Phew that’s a relief!Well not really gave it away, it’s down there waiting for us to move down - she’s more of a caretaker. ( I think I made that clear to her

Thanks for this Ian I may well use this but mix in with some cabbage to make a low carb coleslaw for when mum down. I tend to avoid carrots these days but think this would add a similar texture. Will let you know how it works out@DJC3 Just occurred to me that the French remoulade type salad with celeriac would be an amazing carrier for these veggies. Our boys loved this andmayhave been known to fight each other for last tub.
Can't usually stand the woman but swap the sugar and this Mary Berry recipe works pour moi

Seems like you have had another good and productive day @shelley262 hope things go to plan helping your son, my neighbour has an adult son who has learning difficulties but lives independently, with help from a support worker, he likes to ring her about every little event but seems to manage well, fingers crossed for you.Hope good low carb day had by all.
Productive day for our family I’m using this break from paid work to help support autistic eldest adult son (aged 42) in spending more time living semi independently in his supported accommodation - it’s sometimes easier to have him at home because we have to respond to every crisis by travelling over to help sort but trying to get a bit more help in place so he can spend more time learning to live more independently! Our birthdays are looming and are a reminder that we need to future proof things...... could be depressing but I see it as practical and potentially better for our health too. My 87 year old mum is coming down on Sunday for two weeks so going to trial new arrangements then crossing fingers. Think will be whizzing around more but hopin it’s temporary. Back to topic
