It sounds like you and @DJC3 have the same bug I had. The annoying thing was every time you thought you were improving it came back again! It does eventually disappear.Glad you are looking forward to your breakfast outing, enjoy.
I still feel absolutely whacked, everything seems to be effecting my head today, awful muzzy headache and hot tired eyes.
Thank you for asking after me though it’s very kind, have a lovely day xx
Hi, yes it does seem to have made a firm attachment to me, I had a sore throat over a week ago, lasted less than 24hrs and I thought no more of it, then 5 days later, wham. Only saving grace is that I would rather have it now before my holiday, but I’m truly fed up with it now.It sounds like you and @DJC3 have the same bug I had. I blame the school runs and mixing with the mini germ carriers as I got ill as soon as school started.
It's my arms that are annoying me. One minute they're OK then move them the wrong way and they're sore again. It feels muscular but I know with my screwed up nervous system bugs attack the nerves and they are the last to clear. Hope it goes soon xHi, yes it does seem to have made a firm attachment to me, I had a sore throat over a week ago, lasted less than 24hrs and I thought no more of it, then 5 days later, wham. I got that too. I was considering the book as we know how to adapt recipes. One more addition to my 200 or so cookbooks won't make any differenceDJC3 - Have you joined the Facebook, IP UK group? It's a closed group, but they let me in. The only reason I ask is someone asked yesterday for a link to a Ch^&*((^%s Cooking Book that was put together last year. Obviously there are load of things in there that we would likely choose not to eat, but I find the timings useful if I'm going to do a version on.
Sympathy for you all. I had that at the start of the month - hangs about like the smell of fried fish in a bedsitThat’s exactly it! It took about a week to arrive and I thought I was over it by yesterday but feeling rubbish again today

No this was a cookbook. I went looking for The link on Amazon and came across this which is free on KindleMaglil - The one one I'm referring to is just a .pdf book, so doesn't take any bookshelf room. I have learned such a lot from that group, and getting the magic from the cauldron.

I doubt the degree of Keto in some of the recipes (Uncle Bens wild rice? Maple syrup?) But on the whole it is pretty good especially as it is free for kindle users.

Is that Modspeak for something rude? Ive been scratching my head trying to figure it out.
I have joined the fb IP UK group - I think after you recommended it, they let me in too so obviously not too fussy. I always forget to look on fb though, I must start to search on it a bit more.
I agree its the timings I need a bit of guidance on so that’d be useful.
Evening all. Real curate's egg of a day. Che..... didn't win hut Ar.... didRain at start then very nice if chilly later. 2 very pleasing discoveries foodwise which are included in the menu. @DJC3 if the illness is anything like mine at the start of the month it is really frustrating and impacts bg badly. @Goonergal sorry you are laid up but the win should have cheered you up.
Wakey Wakey Tea
Breakfast : As above
Mid morning: Soya milk mocha with inulin - needed to use bean to cup machine and lots of Callebaut; also a trial run for potential breakfast substitute
Lunch : Waitrose latte
Mid Afternoon: None - walk
Evening meal: Chicken, pigs in blankets (W1 chipolata and streaky bacon), celeriac, broccoli, kale, gravy (confected from stocks made in IP); pears and plums which were bottled last year with last year’s rhubarb, poached in port in the sous vide; h/m vanilla custard; brandy - research purposes you understand
Vanilla custard - was our first try and a major triumph - can now make a trifle. Poached fruit showed us how to use liquids in sous vide pouches - will use PX sherry in future and include the cinnamon, cloves etc next time.
Ah, thanks for that @Goonergal. I will try the new ratio. My husband said it was like eating a delicious chocolatey tapioca!! I think that was a compliment of sortsEvening all.
@DJC3 and @jayney27 hope you are soon feeling better.
@Tori71 the chia pudding should set solid - just adjust the quantities of liquids vs seeds. It took me a while to perfect it. For 4 portions I eventually settled on the following: 33g erythritol, 240ml unsweetened almond milk, 25g of the lowest carb cocoa powder you can find, 64g chia seeds, 120ml double cream.
Enforced day of rest due to my leg issues. Accompanied by a simple menu:
Lunch - chicken wings with Parmesan and pork crunch topping.
Dinner - 6oz burger and 2 rashers bacon.
Also tried my first ever mug of tea with butter - having become accustomed to cream, thought I’d give it a try. Surprised that it was OK, although could use slightly less butter.
Sealing. Infusions will come next. Tia Maria gives me an idea. Our sons introduced Skiathos to Espresso Martini and we have the ingredients, Now all we need is to figure out what would best be cooked in it. Could be lots of fun or coorie/lagan/còsagach apparently hygge is so last year, along with prosecco Who knew?Yesterday in this hacienda, we had an experimental day, with some infusions. I just did another rbatch of Ginnamon as it's getting popular outside these walls, and my OH was creating a version of Tia Maria. Today I had a small taster of the NearlyTiaMaria. Very delicious, but also very sweet. My next experiment is to be an orange and vanilla bean infusion, on vodka.
We're having some experiments for so home created festive gifts for fun. We could do with finding some small bottles (not quite miniatures, but not half bottles either, so that we do a small range.
I haven't had any issue sealing my bags, but MrB had a small leak in the top seal of his yesterday, but it didn't leak. Are you sealing or using the displacement technique for your bags?
