Braised red cabbage was always a family favourite and I very much like peanut butter but rarely eat any - we did try to make our own. Grandchildren are either in Southampton or Suffolk unfortunately - annoying thing is I heard it drop on the mat, went through leaves handful by handful but no luck. If I find it I may need it altered - finding a jeweller may be fun though. Now I could live with that too since red cabbage is yet another of previously hated foodstuffs that I now crave and love. Still no love for peanut butter though.
Hope it turns up!Braised red cabbage was always a family favourite and I very much like peanut butter but rarely eat any - we did try to make our own. Good luck with the coursework. Not sure I would ever have tried fasting and studying "back in the day" would have seemed deranged but might make sense nowDecided on a fasting day today as it’s been a while since I’ve done one. (I don’t class drinks as fasting. Probably wrong but hey ho) So no food to report. Just 3 cuppas and definitely treating myself to a coffee shortly. Hiding away upstairs doing coursework while the other half cooks dinner, as I’m at that stage where I’m a little peckish and know if I see food I’ll cave in. So giving them an hour to eat and get tidied up as by then I’ll be drained from all the reading and have no desire to make myself anything anyway
I hope you find your ring, I often find mine slipping when I’m washing up etc so I think I need to get it altered before I have to go rooting through rubbish or drainsBraised red cabbage was always a family favourite and I very much like peanut butter but rarely eat any - we did try to make our own. lost wedding ring;
Another day, more food and another set of numbers.
Breakfast: - Tea then yard work - gravel paths in chickens area; making log store for this year’s load
Dockey : Tea
Lunch : Avocado and mackerel salad then dog walk
Mid Afternoon: Clearing leaves from trampoline - lost wedding ring; CCB and Tea
Evening meal: Tuna pate (tin tuna flakes, butter, 1/2 tbls ACV - smashed to oblivion in Nutribullet) and 2 flaxseed crispbreads - actually worked well
I’ve been at work all day - in all fairness fasting till 6pm happens frequently as I’m not a breakfast person and am usually so busy at work before I know it lunch has gone. Don’t think I could attempt a fast at the weekend when I’m home all day. Way too much temptation lying around@Emma_369 well done on your fast especially if you’ve been home all day.
I’m with @shelley262 on this one - it’s definitely a distraction for me. Never been one for snacking and revising - tried it once and ended with chocolate fingerprints all over my notesGood luck with the coursework. Thanks for that - if I find the ring - must be in our garden unless animals have eaten it - I will be trying thatOh dear!
Although I didn't lose a shed load of weight, my rings all got a bit too loose - especially those with larger stones or settings.
Fortunately, we have a couple of goldsmiths in our local town - both of whom will work creatively to help - either adding gold to the inner band (all very spiffing, provided there isn't any engraving), or taking slivers out.
In the meantime, this sort of thing isn't the most elegant solution, but they work, and can be a great stop-gap.

I really like the idea and ease of this ..... but did you use brisket? That would be a no no for me - ox cheek maybe? and adjusting weights for 3 people gives only 1 pound of meat (450 ish gms). I am already losing rings. Getting worried about descriptions of hearty meals based on portion sizes I see.In keeping with the thread, I made this today: https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/copycat-chipotle-barbacoa-slow-cooker-low-carb-paleo/
It wasn't as I was expecting from the ingredients, but it was actually very nice. Of course, the fact I added a bunch of veg likely impacted the flavour a bit. We have plenty for another round, heading for the freezer.
(Oh, and I lobbed it in the magic cauldron and did it on the pre-set Meat/Stew setting. The beef is extremely tender.)
the husband -Hello all!
As the husband is away with work I have embarked on my Christmas prep....
Today I blanched sprouts for freezing and made some peppermint high percentage chocolate shards to replace the usual after eights. As these will not keep til Christmas they are my 'tester' batch!
Just looked through the Aldi Christmas brochure to satisfy -visually at least - my carb craving
Breakfast - Hi-lo toast and butter
Lunch - Turkey, peppers, cucumber, tomatoes and olives. Strawberries and cream.
Dinner - Slow cooker lamb and mushroom casserole, carrots, green beans and sprouts.
Snacks - Cashews and mint chocolate shards
Out with some ex work colleagues tomorrow, so will have to behave food wise
