What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast - flaxmeal & oat porridge made with 1/8 c flaxmeal & 1/16 cup oats and made with half water and half full cream milk. Served with Greek yoghurt, raspberry chia seed jam and 1/2 small pear.

Lunch - 1/2 avocado + hazelnut crackers

Post-dinner - low carb bread (home made) with butter and Vegemite

Dinner - braised lamb shoulder chops and warm cauliflower, Swiss chard and walnut salad. Dressed with lemon juice and walnut oil.
Wow sounds good, nom nom!!

FBG 4.8

Breakfast 2 scrambled eggs

Lunch, eating out, starter, tandoori chicken skewer with mint and cucumber yoghurt, sirloin steak, cherry tomatoes green beans and a side salad. Must be even precise when ordering, got side salad instead of chips but it had a squirt of a quite sweet dressing on it - and it was served with battered onion rings. It was a light tempura type batter so I decided to eat the smallest one!

Ordered a kilo of lambs liver from the import butcher, can't wait!

Half a bottle of wine and a Brandy.

No supper

I have a counter top halogen/air fryer and its absolutely amazing nothing you cannot cook in there and comes complete with a rotisserie for chicken, kebabs etc love it that much purchased a spare .
That sounds very interesting - what make is it?

Today - day 5 week 3

Yay - weekend - I get an extra 200 calories to splurge ( my own personal change to the BSD)

Breakfast: 2 grilled rashers streaky bacon and one fried egg (patted dry of fat with kitchen paper)

Lunch: Nothing

Dinner: (Mr C cooking) Rotisserie chicken, keto garlic bread, green salad, sour cream dip

Snack: G and T - maybe even two - calories allowing

Supper: sugar free jelly

I just had breakfast which I haven't had all week and I'm left feeling overly full up - which is odd considering that it was only 1 egg and 2 bacon

Its the Giani turbo air fryer £59.99 and its sold by studio I copied the link to clipboard but not sure where to find clipboard however if you go online just tap in studio.co.uk put in air fryers and it will show you. If you going to order look online for free delivery codes and quote this when ordering.
I have used my main oven approx 10 times in the last 2 years I love it.

Weirdness with my BG this morning - FBG was 7.1 rising to 7.9 after eating an egg and bacon breakfast. My arthritis is playing up and I didn't sleep well so that explains the big FBG but doesn't explain the big rise after breakfast, usually egg and bacon doesn't affect it at all.

Thank you for that. :)

:D

Today

B: low carb orange cake with cream (zero bg impact -RESULT!!!)
L: excavation soup*
D: will be more excavation soup*

* basically Excavation Soup is whatever comes out of my archaeological dig in the fridge during my soup making frenzy. Today's E Soup involves home made chicken stock, courgette, aubergine, spring onion, garlic, those wee little red peppers stuffed with feta (needed finishing up), smoked cheese slices (likewise), and even a chunk of corned beef left over from Mr B's sandwiches, with half a bag of Spring greens thrown in at the last moment. All hand blendered together.

I used to call that Friday soup - I always used like to have some cream cheese whizzed in to it. Somehow (with three big dogs) I don't seem to have leftover anything any more. In fact I caught the naughty new dog with his head in the bin today eating some elderly and very slimey whole red chillies.

Oooh... Good luck with that! Could get a bit... Um... Explosive.
Reminds me of when son, daughter in law, 2 grandsons, 3 cats and one very big Leonberger came to stay for almost 5 months while their new house was being completed. I couldn't cope with stairs at that point so was sleeping downstairs - large doggie was in large cage as he is fond of lying on you which would not have done my spine a lot of good. Anyway, his tummy was a bit dicky so he escaped from his 'escape proof' cage , spotted human company I. E. Me!! came galloping over and lept on me delighted with company. This is 5am by the way.
Son heard the crash and came downstairs to see what was happening and found me pinned down by dog the size of a pony licking me and cage with a very bent door. Fixed cage and returned clearly disappointed canine who then decided to release the contents of his dicky tummy in a rear end explosion (glad I wasn't still pinned down at the time).
Son now had the unenviable task of cleaning the area at 5.20 am! Doggie is dispatched outside onto deck , got his feet cleaned and was leashed to prevent any more escapes. Leash was hooked under my Jack & Jill chairs complete with parasol which is some weight. Son gets hot water , marigolds, disinfectant and a lot of kitchen rolls and believe me Doggie was quite rich
Now Doggie is used to cats as they have 3 but at that point the neighbours cat wandered by, Doggie looked, went "ooo cat, ooo not one of mine" and took off in hot pursuit with the very heavy Jack and Jill chairs and parasol sailing along behind him (I have 8 ft of glass along the back so it was a ringside seat). Son now had to pursue dog and the furniture.
Eventually got back to sleep just in time for the grandchildren waking up.

I'm a happy bunny. 5.8 going to bed last night and fasting this morning was 6.4.
B. 2 scrambled eggs with parsley and a black Tea.
L. Remains of the fat head pizza (this is good , browned a wee bit too much but still good)
D. Just having some cold meats and salad and a black coffee. Just want something easy.
Did shopping last night, was at swimming with grandson for 2 hrs this morning and neighbour is having a party tonight which will be late and noisy so better sleep while I can.

I knew my BG was weird today - I've just got over a 3.2 hypo! (Who was it that claimed that a T2 can't have a hypo on metformin?) This house isn't geared up for hypos I finally found a bag of out of date jelly babies in an old work bag - now back up to 4.5.

I thought it was impossible too?

No, it's happened to me before but never when I've been low carbing. I am getting very stressed over work and - unbelievably - the new dog, but I'm surprised I had a hypo. :(
