What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Ooh - where did you get the 99%? Have you tried it yet??

I had some of the 100% from Hotel Chocolat which was..... interesting! I've not been able to find the 99%.

Hi @Chook found it in Waitrose - went in looking for something else, which they didn't have and spotted it. Haven't tried it yet as I'm fasting today, but planning on a square or two after dinner (which is in the oven). Will report back.

B- coffee with cream
L- 60g oppo vanilla ice cream with raspberries
D- had some organic boneless chicken thighs that id defrosted yesterday and wasnt sure what to use them for - marinated them in a mix of yogurt, tomato puree and curry spices and cooked them at 100 degrees until v tender - lovely
Also made roasted courgette houmus from the " real meal revolution" book - its a keeper!

Another fasting day today.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - none

Dinner - roast chicken; sautéed broccoli, courgette and onion; 3 tiny squares of Lindt 99%; 2 squares Lindt 90%

@Chook the 99% is definitely an acquired taste - and not sure I'll be persevering long enough to acquire it! Hadn't noticed in the shop, but the bar is only 50g and is very thin - split into 21 squares. The 90% tasted positively sweet by comparison.

That sounds a lot like the 100% from Hotel Chocolat - okay but not as nice as the Lindt 90% - and definitely not worth the extra money. :)

Bed on 6.7 FBG 6.8 and pre breakfast was 7.1. Still a bit higher than I'd like but I think the infection from my gùm still hasn't totally cleared as I've felt a bit off today.
B. Omelette with mushroom, tomato, bacon and parsley. Tassimo morning coffee with cream.
L. Slice of the ox tongue, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, boiled egg, 2 Walnuts and Helmanns.
D. Cup of Marigold Swiss bouillon and a slice of Hovis lower carb seeded and lurpack.
A lot of water.
Whatever was wrong it seems to be passing now. BGs is fine - currently 5.1.

Ox tongue??? Ewww. Sorry

Bf big wedge of avocado with home roasted pumpkin seeds
L cold chicken thigh chunks with mayo. Big wedge avocado with celery chunks
Snack. A little spicy Italian chicken sausage with a dollop of mustard & mayo.
Yup you got it. Spoonful of avocado ( hubby saved it) this snack is only on weekends
Pre dinner. Brie and havarti cheese. Wine.
Dinner. Cold lamb chop chunks with mayo. Big wedge a avocado
All meals get a few macadamia nuts as dessert.

Yesterday ....

Breakfast: 15 olives mixed with 125gms cottage cheese = 6gms carbs
Dinner: 80gms spinach leaves with 110gms avocado flesh = 3gms carbs
Supper: 2 egg omelette with 3 rashers bacon = 0 carbs
Late: 250ml soya yoghurt = 8gms carbs

Low carbing for 2 weeks now and going much as expected. Appetite has hit the floor and a real struggle to get the calories in - averaging 1110 per day.

I think you will adjust to it and your appetite will return - it certainly did with me.

I really like the idea of olives with cottage cheese... I will add that to my list of good ideas. :)

Today....

Breakfast: Eggs, bacon, low carb chipolatas, grilled tomato

Lunch: Cup of Costa Americano with cream (in Costa, Scunthorpe)

Dinner: Roast Beef, a tablespoon of carrots, cauliflower (with a cream and cheese sauce), a tablespoon of broad beans, then, from my veggie garden, purple sprouting broccoli, runner beans, chard, courgette (that has grown the size of a marrow), and - finally - EITHER a small amount of roast parsnip OR a small Yorkshire pud (I found an Aunt Bessie one that is 7.7 per Yorkshire Pud.

I might even have a couple of squares of 90% - I've been trying to get rid of my sweet tooth by avoiding anything with sweeteners or sugar but I'm not sure 90% can be classed as 'sweet'

Drinks: Black coffee with breakfast, coffee with cream at lunch time, red wine with dinner - sparkling mineral water the rest of the time

Yes. 99% not to brilliant. Green and Black's 85% seems nicer.

Hi @badcat,

The chicken sounds lovely. I really have to try it. How long did you have it in the oven before it was tender?

Yesterday's food:
8 a.m. -- two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and a bit of xylitol.
10 a.m. -- a plate of about 100g of olives, 100g of gouda, 40g of salami and half an avocado.
5 p.m. -- tuna salad (tuna, celery and mayonnaise), about 4 pieces of 85% dark Feodora chocolate (16g of carbs for each 100g)
and about one and a half glasses of very dry Rioja.

Bed 6 FBG 5.6 and pre breakfast was 6.7 so finally dropping again. I've no pain from the extraction site but the infection still hasn't fully cleared as I have slight swelling and numbness coming and going. Ah well on with the salty mouthwash. Just read it can take 1 to 2 weeks to totally clear.
B. Another omelette with mushroom, parsley, tomato, bacon and courgetti. Tassimo morning coffee with cream.
L. Nothing
D. 3 scallops with black bean, spring onion and samphire.
Fathead chicken pot pie with best ever cauliflower mash and steamed sprouts.
Will see how I feel about campari and soda and a wee prosecco later as the infection feeling comes and goes.

Back at walking football for the first time in a month today: led to a bit of an increase in appetite.

Breakfast - none

Lunch - tuna mayo with baby spinach, rocket and baby plum tomatoes; 10 raspberries with double cream

Dinner - home made burgers with feta, tomato, onion and spinach; tenderstem broccoli with a knob of butter; 2 squares Lindt 90%

Drinks - 1 cup of tea with cream; 1 Diet Coke (working towards weaning myself off that completely - still a few cans in the fridge); 1 750 ml bottle of San Pellegrino sparkling water (idea is to use this as a replacement for the Diet Coke); plain old tap water
