What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

@Chook all your home grown produce is making my mouth water. I am determined to dig a little veg plot when we have finally moved. Won’t grow cauli, cabbage or broccoli though as I’ve tried before and the turquoise larvae/ caterpillars/ slugs whatever they were, put me off for ages.
Today I’ve had CWC this morning the TWAM when coffee pot empty.
NE1: flaxseed bun split into 2 open sandwiches topped with mayo, Emmental, mortadella, 1/2 cherry Tom, 1slice avocado and some leaves and olives next to it. Greek yoghurt and garden raspberries to follow.
NE2 will be fresh tuna Nicoise ( hard typing that - autocorrect trying to change it to mucus) much happier with today’s food. Not sure about a pud - maybe a couple of squares Montezuma’s

Can’t beat a sleepy dog in your knees to bring down bg either!
Must be really interesting looking at all theLibre data.
Well done for bringing your weight under control again so quickly.

Sleepy dog on knee is good for bringing down blood pressure too - or just in case.

Yesterday
No breakfast, tea
LC bread with cheese , cherry toms and almonds. Water. In the car through the Peak District.
Dinner
Marinated chicken breast, grilled. Ratatouille, mixed salad.
Raspberries, blueberries and strawberries with Greek yoghurt.
Sauvignon blanc.

Still working towards emptying the freezer but the konjak "rice" I ordered from Amazon turned up so I had to try it. I just made a quick sauce of mushrooms, spring onions and soya sauce and put that over the "rice". It was OK but the konjak is pretty tasteless. As my son said "like eating water".

Breakfast was a disappointing mushroom frittata from the freezer - lost all its taste in the freezer.
Lunch was the above-mentioned konjak.
Dinner was very early because I had to go out at 1730. It was defrosted meatballs in a tomato and basil sauce (the sauce was brilliant, if I do say so myself). Meatballs had also lost their flavour in the freezer.

When I got home at 2030 I felt very ill and between then and 2100 I was very ill indeed. Most of what I had eaten during the day went down the toilet, but I felt better afterwards and just dropped onto my bed for a minute or so. Woke up at 0530, cold and sore. Even a cup of tea didn't restore me. I think I'll give the konjak a miss for a while. It might not have been that, but I do react to tapioca and arrowroot, so maybe this is another no-no for me. 5 more packets in the cupboard.

I did use the rest of the tomato/basil sauce though, this morning when I finally felt like eating. I baked 2 eggs in the remaining sauce. Dumped the meatballs.

Hi all
Lots more walks today with cooper - will miss him when he goes home tomorrow but my knee may be relieved at having a rest!
Breakfast half of a high percentage pork gluten free sausage (dog had other half!) bacon and egg
Lunch coffee with cream
Dinner chicken curry with a few lc seeded crispbreads and gin with soda followed by sf jelly and yoghurt - about to take decaf coffee with cream and a little bit of 100% choc into garden and to play with dog.

Beautiful sunny day - more like June should be.
B. Fried egg, 2 slices of halloumi, plum tomatoes, black tea, black coffee.
L. Prawns with sundried tomatoes, one small baklava.
Snack. Quinoa scone and tea
D. Gin and Slim, feta and watermelon salad, prawn curry (no accompaniments)

Today Breakfast was full fat Greek Yogurt with mixed seeds and chia.
2 x cup of tea with cream.
Lunch: It was a little late when we got back from shopping so just had some nuts (a couple of brazils and walnuts) and a bouillon cube with butter.
Supper: Roast Duck breast with salad followed by a chunk of cheddar.
Cup of coffee with cream.

evening all! :D

Today has been a recovering from holiday day, so v peaceful.
One trip out - Jasmine's first official walk - and she did splendidly.
I carried her there in my cross body puppy carrier (yes, I know they look absurd, but I am NOT overexercising a 14 week old pup), then we sat at Costa's outside tables and she got herself tangled in the lead and watched the world go by.
Then we trundled home with 50 yards on the high street, and 300 yards via the alley and the street.
She was a dream.
Having a pack really does make EVERYTHING easier, doesn't it? From toilet training to leash training.
Then everyone slept off their trek.

B: nada
L: tuna in sweet chilli cream
S: lindt 70%
D: instant pot brisket. It was supermarket trimmed :( so too lean for true keto succulence, but it still came out pretty fab. Thank you to whoever was discussing brisket upthread - another delicious standby to add to the list.

8pm and the evening dog rumble has begun :D:hilarious::woot:

May have some goatsmilk yog later, have been missing it

Breakfast today. Eggs and bacon. LC toasted roll with butter and some cheese. 2 X CWC
Almonds and water at the beach
Forgot the cup of tea with cheese chunks when we arrived back from the beach.
Dinner 2slices of roast ham with ratatouille and a salad. Berries and Greek yoghurt. A glass of white.
Although the ham was roasted etc, dinner was diy this evening as our friend was already invited to a wedding. And she has a Neff induction cooktop the likes of which I’ve never seen. I tried every which way but could not turn it on.
@gennepher, I thought of you as I threw everything into the microwave! Even OH’s potatoes were microwaved, gravy (his must have), and juggling veg etc to reheat it. ‘Cooking’ in someone else’s kitchen can be challenging!

This is odd - I can’t see the last half of your post on the thread, but when I go to reply I get 2 more paragraphs!
Was just going to say how envious I am of ‘almonds and water at the beach’
Agree that cooking in someone else’s kitchen is very challenging

I had my pork and veg stew with aubergine. Stew was fine and tasty but the aubergine rather spoiled it. And I'm still hungry and just had a handful of peanuts and a cup of warm milk. Still hungry so I shall just put up with it and go to bed and hope to sleep through my rumbling tum.

Mmm actually I always expect to like aubergine more than I actually do.

@Brunneria your coffee with Jasmine sounds lovely - one of my favourite passtimes is watching the world go by with a dog from a pavement cafe.
Dennis also has a mad 10 mins at 8pm and so did Tilly. I’m just glad that my daughter’s Great Dane doesn’t.

Some days are diamonds, some days are rust, eh? Had you really never heard of not eating pork unless there is an r in the month? What about not eating sprouts until they have had a frost on them? @Tipetoo great story. Wisbech is quite picturesque but rather like an Old West frontier town these days. Were the strawberries Cambridge favourites - by far the sweetest?

I thought it was oysters that shouldn’t be eaten when there’s no r in the month.

Isn’t baklava pure sugar?

A messy microwave then :)

I am really looking forward to being foster mum to the lovely lab in a few months. I’ve missed having a dog and I might not want to give her up at the end of the 4 months.
She is a ‘failed’ drug sniffer dog, and it’s quite funny that when she arrived at her new home she ran around all over the house on top of the furniture - as is usual for them to do as a drug search dog. It took a while for them to re-train her apparently.

22-06-19
breakfast: 2x tea, nut granola, 2x boiled eggs with 30g sourdough toast and 5g butter
Lunch: coleslaw; salad, olives, roti porc 2 slices. half an avocado, half a seeded roll
Dinner: 2x chicken thigh; potato, carrot, cabbage, fried them all up together, peach and yoghurt for dessert. Bit disappointing, peach had started to go off, but wasn't ripe. Glass of wine
handful of walnuts in the evening

Some of them never really do. There's an ex drug detection dog in this village (not one of mine) and this dog 'indicates' at anyone carrying drugs which seems to be half the people in this village. It caused a bit if a stir until it was pointed out that she was a failed sniffer dog.... she's a lovely girl though.

Hello, the wanderer returns!

Been off the forum for months and months due to a (still healing) arm injury. Not been able to type and should really be taking it steady now, but missing you guys. Hope everyone is OK, will try to post when able. I am managing to read the posts due to a pathetic scrolling action with my other arm but can't bear to type replies with one finger.

Breakfast: Home made granola, two slices hi lo toast and butter
Lunch: Turkey, ham, olives, cucumber, tomato, cheese cube, cheese muffin. Cherries, double cream and homemade choc granola.
Tea: Steak, roasted veg, peas. Two squares 90% Lindt
Supper: More granola!

Good to be back :)
hope the arm heals soon
